  1. That's exactly the description of my '99 V11 when I first rode it at speed . I hated those Pirelli's and quickly changed them to Bridgestone BT020's. With correctly set (White Power) suspension front and rear, Stucchi fairing and correct tyre pressures it now tracks straight and true on motorways. BTW my Bitubo damper is still functioning correctly after 6 years/45,000 miles and is usually set at 3 clicks out from soft.
  2. Have a look at the Hyperpro USA web site for price details .
  3. You have far too much spare time Martin...has the washing machine repair man been yet?
  4. Having a 'classic' green/red V11 myself and finding the steering damper useful, I thought I'd have a quick rummage.... The Hyperpro web site makes interesting reading. They even do one in Mad Red for that all important colour matched look . V11 part number is MK-MG10-O 001

    American Guzzisti

Sorry our American cousins have had to wait so long but British Guzzisti have been able to buy the Breva V1100 since May/June. As Pete Roper has written there have been a few niggles with one or two machines but on the whole it's living up to all the hype - it really is a quality product. I've covered 5,000 miles since August 27th and the bike has been faultless. I it.
  6. This is the Nevada rear footrest fitted on my V11. They don't look out of place on the bike - being no longer than the standard V11 peg. They're not spring loaded of course but they do have free movement. Vibration problems have been totally eliminated. Nevada 750 part numbers required: 1 off 66 44 07 30 right hand mounting bar/pin 1 off 66 44 18 30 left hand mounting bar/pin 2 off 66 44 16 30 washer 2 off 51 60 98 00 washer 2 off 66 44 32 30 footrest rubber 2 off 31 44 12 60 footrest plate I used these stainless steel fasteners to mount them: 4 off M3 x 16 setscrews 4 off M3 washers 2 off M6 x 40 setscrews 4 off M6 washers + 4 or 6 for spacers within the original V11 mounts 2 off M6 nyloc nuts
  7. I used to have the same problem with the standard front pegs on my '99 V11. I 'borrowed' the rear footrests from my wifes Nevada 750. They fit perfectly with a few M6 washers to space them out, have a thick rubber top and a splash of chrome for that bling bling custom look. Hey presto - no more 'sleepy' foot syndrome on long trips .
  8. I've looked in all the obvious places but can't find any mention of an 'official' event taking place in Italy next year to celebrate the factories 85th birthday . The actual anniversary is in March sometime. Can anyone help please?
  9. Totally agree, very clean lines .
  10. I thought that vehicle manufacturers had to (by law) supply spares for 10 years after a model had ceased production and hasn't this German dealer bought the least remaining stocks of V11 motors? Internet based rumours - don't you just love them .
  11. Yes please - where do I send the cheque? 1420cc, yummy
  12. Yes and very good they are too! The web site for owners of modern Guzzi's is in its infancy but looks promising .
  13. Waahay!...another Breva V1100 owner on here. Liked your write up Rudi , please stick around. Just remember to mention V11's every now and again so Jaap won't expel you.... .

    Why So Slow?

Bit late to this discussion but I can recommend Spares GB. They've recently supplied 99% of a long list of small parts for my V11 from UK stock and the few parts they didn't have took no longer than 10 days.
  15. After living with a Breva 1100 for 2 months and 4300 miles I can safely say that it is a 'real Guzzi' - albeit a properly designed one that works . It's a great all-rounder with plenty of power for real-world riding. It is smoother and more refined than a V11 but retains that unique Guzzi feel. I like the Breva's styling, it's modern, smooth and of a very high quality . Chill out and stop knocking Moto Guzzi, be thankful they're still in business .......
  16. We rode down today and enjoyed good weather . Distinct lack of anything interesting - the only Italian presence was the MGCGB and Ducati stands . Those dook 'sports classics' are very .
  17. No problem Gary. I'll put a notice in the meetings section in due course and ask Jaap to 'pin' it .
  18. Martin, you can ride in the East Kirkby Lancaster during its taxi-run - it only costs £150.00........
  19. Our main annual Buell event is held at this Lancaster Centre. Next years event will be held on a Saturday in July - date TBA. Jane and I have been members of this Centre for years and they allow us to use a section of the WW2 airfield next to the control tower to display the bikes. We have a Spitfire flying display and Lancaster bomber taxi-run during the event. Would UK based V11 owners like to come along as guests? A line up of Buell's and V11's would look pretty good .
  20. Police corruption in Mandello . Two of Italy's finest on duty at the GMG - they'd been issued with free goody bags .
  21. To be held once again at the Spean Bridge Hotel over the weekend of 19th/20th/21st May 2006. Location details: Spean Bridge Hotel This is a biker-friendly establishment with a full range of accommodation available. This includes en-suite rooms, chalets and bunkhouses. The beer and food is superb . Fantastic roads right on the doorstep . We have special rates for the weekend - please quote 'Buell Group' when booking. Your contact is Margaret Short.
  22. Well, you finally did it! - welcome to that elite band of riders who own both Buell and Moto Guzzi . Enjoy being different in every sense My most favourite picture - Erik Buell with my S1 at Silverstone in June this year.

    Memories of yoof

My first bike - New Suzuki GT125 27th June 1975. A pleasant enough machine that took me all over the place in all weathers. It didn't have the performance edge that Kawasaki's and Yamaha's offered but it was a good introduction to motorcycling.
