  1. yes, Finland looked strong against Russia, Niitymäki was untouchable and the team effort was great to see. Probably a stronger team than Sweden, but there is so much tradition, feelings and psychology when neighbours meet. Sweden and Finland even was one country until 1808 when Finland was lost to Russia. Finland was given independence by the Bolshevik goverment after the Russian revolution in 1917. In hockey Finland tradition speaks for a swedish victoria, Mats Sundin (captian of Tre Kronor and Toronto Maple Leafs) has scored many decisive goals in important matches against Finland. Finland has a slightly better team but Sweden has the a few players that have "the edge to decide the game". The TV-sofas of Sweden and Finland are booked for 14.00 CET (1 PM GMT) on sunday
  2. yes, a great day, earlier today Anna Ottosson who was 13th after the first run in Giant Slalom was fastest in the 2nd run at took the bronze. A picture of cute Anna for the old men of this forum: and since this really is a forum: Bob de Jong - 10000m champion I prefer our neighbours Suomi/Finland, Sweden vs Finland is always tough and good games. Russia looks frightenly good though. Finland vs Russia starts in 20 minutes.
  3. OK, latest news, semifinal 1: Sweden - Czecklands 7 - 3 at last Sweden plays really good now we are going for Gold (against Finland or Russia)
  4. It does, just like Golf, if you are a senior citizen who have given up and sex, motorcycles and other fun stuff I always suspected that Hammerfall were a bunch of dorks, this truly confirms it. The team is olympic final right now, I will try to be a bit more supportive.
  5. Yes, I saw the final, and fell in love with Kari, oldest and coolest of all contestants BTW, Slovakia just reduced to 2 - 1 with 17 minutes to go
  6. Canada is out of the ice hockey tournament 2 minutes ago 2 - 0 for Russia! Finland beat USA 3 - 2 and Sweden vs Suisse 6 - 2 Czecklands leads Slovakia 2 - 0 after 2 periods. My little country (9 million people) has 11 medals already the best winter olympic games ever for us. and by popular request, swedish women hockey team: http://www.damkronorna.se/ Silver medal! beat USA in the semifinal, lost to Canda in the final first ever european national team to beat a northamerican
  7. where from? and where to? Norway is a very stretch out country and very very expensive. Best route is to go through Sweden to the part of Norway you want to see. If you are going to Capo Nord, pick me up in Luleå on the way and I'll show you the best route.
  8. I still the northern front of V11-ism and my town was in the database
  9. not much hope of riding a V11 anytime soon
  10. it depends on the track lots of tight bends and a car could be faster even faster than a R1. does not matter anyways, fun matters! In a car you fight the G-force while on a bike you use it (at least an tarmac). But he's right about the beer bellies, I hereby declare Project Beach 2006 officially started
  11. My first car was a 1965 Saab 96 two-stroke, bought it for 55 euro in 1980, had it for three years and sold it for the same amount. Being a swedish car you can buy cheap SAAB parts at your local petrol station over here.
  12. the optimal combo would be a real Piaggio car, a van: or a pickup:
  13. I need a car mostly now during wintertime, 1994 BMW 525ix Touring, 192bhp and always-on 4WD (same as Ford Cosworth) still not one bit fast compare to any decent bike
  14. FYI, a 2A1 for sale on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=4606900592
  15. They do get better, but they are not approaching leather in terms of protection. For slow speed communiting and dirt/gravel tracks I too use textile, but never if there is a risk of high speed contact with tarmac. It all about risk evaluation, riding a motorbike is not without risks anyhow, me weight the risks against to the fun/thrill/freedom be get from riding. self-deception does not make for rational decision. That said, riding in rain in unprotected leathers do make you cold, loosing focus and less agile. Probably safer with goretex gear in that case.
  16. Textile = better protection against rain Leather = better protection against tarmac as so often the choice is comfort vs safety for me it is a no-brainer
  17. Despite the fact that my engine has FBF pistons inside I do recommend Mike Rich. I got the spring kit from him, good service, good quality and fast delivery. I chose FBF pistons because I got them cheap from a guzzisto with a cancelled project.
  18. maximum power it is a V4 and the pipe lenghts are tuned so I suppose the back cylinder pipe goes up and the front pipes goes down.
  19. I do make the engine rev faster, it is very easy to hit the revlimiter after I fitted mine.
  20. http://www.ducati.com/racing/06/gp/bike/index.jhtml what can I say but niiiice, veeery niiiice
  21. Nice, very nice, I also like the new R6: if I stumbled on a large heap on cash either of these should make a good track bike.
  22. It's 2006!! at least according to CET. Have a good new year and many miles on your geese!
  23. Takes longer to read digits then an analog clock. So clocks are safer.
  24. yes indeed, LKJ is an old favorite of mine from the '80s what time is it?
