  1. Only one way to know: test ride it. A sporty V11 is bigger and heavier than a Monster, but is not hard to ride and the power is not overwelming in any way. If you ride mostly in town and slow traffic a Monster is a better bike for all of us, but in the twisties you just use 4th and 5th gear for a smooth ride. With a smaller engine you have to work the gearbox more, with the V11 you just use engine breaking with a little assistens from the front brakes (2 fingers), then lean in, a little throttle to stop engine breaking and the slowly open up the throttle on exit all in the same gear. But again, test ride a few bikes, if your not comfortable on the bike you buy it will not be as fun as it should.
  2. anybody seen a price estimate? about the same as Breva 1100 or more?
  3. Interesting podium, all-Italian but more significant: all three former 250 world champions. Brno is a classic motorcycle track with many sweeping turns and few hard corner often seem on "car tracks". On a track like this is pays off to have a smooth riding style which good 250 riders have.
  4. longer life, and less oxidation = more secure ignition
  5. Megacycle's replica of the Norris RR3 (not yet, but the plan is to drop it in the coming winter) and the pistons are FBF/Wiseco hicomps check the current configuration here: http://kirra.net/v11/2005/
  6. I can have some made if they are OK to use, material- and torque-wise. They tend to be expensive if you do experiment with head and cam tuning and have to throw a couple away each time you lift the heads.
  7. 158 kg dry weight, but the engine is air cooled (Ducati desmodue 1000) so it is light but not very powerful compared to 1000cc supersportbikes. On the other hand it is lighter than all 600cc supersportbikes. BTW, I won on the pools today, but that 100 SEK (just over 10 euro) don't really cut it
  8. What are the gaskets made of? Looks like some metal (alloy?) and asbethos. Could I make copper gaskets for the V11? Any reason it would not work? Inquiring minds needs to know...
  9. I mostly been riding my GasGas EC lately, but this afternoon I took the old V11 for a spin and it was like whestling Hulk Hogan I didn't think of the weight before but today it bothered me Right, nothing to do about it, you can't switch a Guzzi for something impersonal like a CBR600RR, can you? This one would do it: the new Bimota DB5 Mille, 158 kilos! But, at 25000 euro, it is not an option until I win the football pools.
  10. £47 it went for No, if you want the latest features, a finer grained map och use the latest software from Dynoje you must buy the USB-version. If you just want to dial in the FI a £47 used PCIII does the jobs perfectly OK.
  11. Some head gasket can be reused if you recondition them by heating them up? Copper gasket, I think. How about the Guzzi stock gaskets?
  12. I got the OZ wheels on so the Café racer is up for it, even if some people don't like colours: http://kirra.net/v11/2005/
  13. Huskys are Italian (Cagiva) these says and Husa is owned by KTM but still built in Sweden. Without a limited budget I would get a GG 450 or a Husky 510 four-stoke. Husas is very fast and competent but it take a powerful rider to get to the potential out of it. A happy camper like myself is more comfortable on a friendler and more agile bike. A 5-year old 2-stroke like mine is the most bang for the buck. Highlander bikes är for sale at least here in Sweden, but they are heavy for my intended usage both in weight and in price tag prices and data (in swedish): http://www.hkp.se/nymotorcykel.html 124000 SEK in almost 12000 euro and 165 kilos
  14. It is the motorway between Stockholm and Uppsala. The engine is built by McXpress in our neighbour town Piteå, way up north in Sweden. The guy is quiet naive and hypocritical, he does not like his name spelled out but still want the fame he take the high horse on safety AND perform stunt like these to make money. Me, not a fan.
  15. Just took a test ride, fun, fun, but I am not confortable yet on the new machine so I'm probably just use 10% of the potential. It is 100 kilos and 38 bhp and gear for terrain usage so accelaration is on par with the Guzzi (up to 70-80 km/h perhaps). this is a picture how it looked when new: And mr Hack: when I get up to speed I hope to add the Gas to be jumpin' like mr Flash.
  16. I needed a motorcycle for the snowy winter times, so I sold some stuff from my garage and used up some bonus money from work and got this little beauty: now I have 3 motorcycles, how stupid is that?
  17. hmm, I heard Barrichello is going to BAR... and Sauber is not running Ferrari engines next year since the whole Sauber operation has been bought by BMW. Otherwise F1 is pretty boring
  18. Hardly, Danni is set for HRC/Repsol, they have even built a smaller version of the RC211V just for boy. Tony Elias, currenly in Tech3/Yamaha, would be a better bet.

    YOUNG NICKY!!!!

AFAIK: He rode Cagiva i 500GP in 1993, without much success. He was seriously injured in 1995 but not on the track.
  20. No, I was just for trading bikes .... This is how happy you get when finally get to ride it:
  21. Don't feel sorry for Sete, he is a Bultaco so money is no problem and this is his girlfriend Esther Canadas: Now feel sorry for yourself the battle for second place is really heating up: 1. Rossi 236 2. Melandri 116 3. Gibernau 115 4. Edwards 114 5. Biaggi 113 6/7. Barros and Hayden 101
  22. Oh well. maybe practical.. BUT those where really really ugly if you don't mind me saying that

    YOUNG NICKY!!!!

Got to love Mladin an arrogant AND a h*ll of a motorcycle rider. Controversy make's good publicity and that is only good for the sport. Would like to see him in a more competetive arena like MotoGP or World Superbike, but he is probably too old and makes too much mony in the US. (But Frankie Chili is 41, so you never know)
  24. A Matrix is a big car compare to a VW Polo (not sold in the US), but a V11 is larger then an R6 too. Have to post a picture of his old van:
  25. Oops, the pdf i posted said only models with PRX in the name had that feature. I don't know and I only have a Paioli so I can't check.
