  1. Obviously you know what you're after but I just want to point out that I was refering to an earlier version of fireblade which have a "rounder" fairing that would match the V11s design better than the newer more aggresive styling: Fireblade SC33 1996-99 One of my less urgent projects is buying a cheap unpainted glasfiber replica fairing put a hacksaw to it and see if/how I can make it fit nicely.
  2. snow! until april.... edit: no, I no longer have a sled since I moved from the mountains to the coastline, but I hope get some rides in on some friends machines.
  3. I think it is a bit narrow for the Guzzi engine, something for a inline-4 fairing wuld probably be better suited.. Someone used a Honda Fireblade fairing on a MG with good result.
  4. The monarchy was not overthrown by Franco, it was reinstated by him Yes, killing everyone who oppose your views including the elected president is the way to go. To summaries, did I get it right, dictators are OK as long as you agree with his policies? In my view democracy is the best option, whatever the polical colour of the dictator. The end result of "enlightened dictatorship" is always corruption, oppression and violations of human right.
  5. How long are the cut-down mufflers? Supertrapp IDS2 is available in 16" length and might fit.
  6. Stupidity is a blessing?
  7. Actually we got quiet a few speed cameras in Sweden too, but (like in Norway AFAIK) it is not a big problem when on the bike. The driver must be identified which is impossible wearing a fullface helmet hey, a camera, give the nice policeman a wave (while doing a wheelie) beside they are always (at least up north) on the wide straight roads which you want to avoid anyways when riding for fun. and Tony, getting drunk is not a question about price is more of a tradition.
  8. In fact Cromwell did try 100+ years before the french but obviously did not do it good enough.

    This is Cymru

nice view! not much motorcycling over here:
  10. The problem with NHL is that there are no teams, just companies. In Sweden while the clubs still in many ways acts and works like companies, it is still the membership who has the final word not a bunch of greedy share holders. Thanks to the NHL conflict the swedish hockey league (Elitserien) has moved from the second best the the best league in the world. Most swedish NHL stars and some czecks, yanks and canuckss too plays here while waiting for the conflict to resolve (which doesn't seem to happen during this season).
  11. Hmmm. .. as a good Canuck you should know british hockey really really sucks I support my local team! Luleå Hockey
  12. You means recoup some cost in marketing In motocross where they compete 450cc 4-stroke vs 250cc 2-stroke the jury is still out. The main reason for 2-stroke 500GP bikes not being competetive IMHO is that development stopped. Refinement to engines AND chassis are a comtinuing process, 2-3 years old bike is not competetive at all. The nice things with the 2-strokes were lower weight gives higher curve speeds and lower development costs - meaning more teams could compete.

I'm not Todd but I think he meant that you compare your solution with the old PCIII while the one for sale from dynojet is the very much improved PCIII-usb. I got interested in your product and if I had not already got a PCIII-usb installed on my V11 I would seriously consider buying it. I hope you find a market big enough to continue support for the WM1.5M and Moto Guzzi. 2 points I don't like: - keys. As a IT professional I see a lot of problems for customers caused by problems with licence keys. It is a way to protect your investment but it is not helpful to your customers. - a bit pricey. compared to My15M where you get both H/W and S/W for less money, but maybe it just us old hackers who likes the openess of My15M. I'm sure your package is a nice product for the average Joe not interested in hacking around for it's own sake.
  14. The Number 1 single was: Elvis Presley - "Good Luck Charm" Not Elvis' greatest work... Born on 28th May: 1910 - T-Bone Walker ( 'blues guitar godfather' ) 1944 - Gladys Knight ( solo vocalist and with Gladys Knight & The Pips ) 1959 - Steve Strange ( real name Steve Harrington; vocalist, Visage ) 1968 - Kylie Minogue 1980 - Mark Feehily ( vocalist, Westlife ) Ahh, I knew we had a spiritual bond!
  15. since this is a valve thread I will steal some attention too: I got this tip from a guy with a Norris RR3 camshaft "Norris triple-spring package with titanretainers" any ideas where to get something like those? Are Norris still in business? My camshaft is a Megacycle RR3-replica.
  16. The problem as I see it is that too often loud-mouths reserve that right of free speach for themselves. They should in there opinion should be allowed to say anything (because they are always right) while others are not allowed propose counter arguments. Monolog is not democracy
  17. ohoh, I got one in the mail today:
  18. Rear shock from a Laverda Zane, the fork from a Brian&Ghezzi SuperTwin My V11 is still a bit heavier than any of those but I don't find them too soft.
  19. Pete, you are always very helpful even when us silly guys walk into la-la-land of excess Guzzi tuning. It is good to point out the limitations, to get cheap performance the best way is the swap to whole thing against a used CBR600RR. For me (as for you AFAIK) part of the Guzzi experience is messing around in the garage - if I do this let see what the happens then. I have already adapted some front and back Paioli suspension last winter - works and looks great. Also welded myself a 2into1 exhaust. This winter is "motor winter", found some parts on ebay and the classified on this site which are going in together with some mild porting. Not becasue I need much more power.... I just want to see what can be done

  22. In Sweden we have most of the food orgies on christmas eve so I have had a day to recover.
  23. some of us can't help ourselves.. just because it is an old mill of a engine and it is silly to try to match even a modern small inline-four like R6/GSXR600/CBR600RR does mean we can't ticker along to see what we can make of it anyway. Maybe it will be a bitch to drive in town traffic or touring but I don't care 'cause I don't like touring and rather use the BSA in town traffic anyway. A friend of mine has a bad back and if he get he's FZ750 streetfighter project of the ground I could probably buy his Hayabusa for a resonable price. Lots and lots of power, but where is the fun in that? Tinkering with my V11 will give me at best 100hp doing the same with a Busa gives the double of that, but still no more fun and probably cost a lot more since thing get more complicated to do at home. Riding a sportbike at 40+ while living at the edge of the arctic circle is stupid anyway, so there is little need to be rational about motorbikes for me
  24. 01.48 at night just came home from the traditional swedish "julbord". since this thread is alive again Ruben is riding from Tech 3 Yamaha in 2005 and Checa and Capirex is doing wonderful laptimes with their new Bridgestone tyres. In april the MotoGP season of 2005 starts ...
  25. Hard topic... Very few of us has tried more than a few different tyres on our V11s and we have different preferences. Grip vs wear for starters. I can say one thing the Diablos are the successor of Dragon and are much better overall. I have Dragon Corsas on right now, marvelous grip but a bit unstable in high speed and slightly scary when cooled by rain. I would like to try Dunlop D208s which some fast guys I know swear by, but economic reality probably make me stick with what works - Diablos.
