  1. The DaVinci Code is pretty flat, you don't related to any of the characters as they are pretty superficialy described. The conspiracy theories on the other hand is part fascinating and part a joke. That the bible is edited for political reason by emperor Constantinus and a bunch of bishops is probably true, and that women is played down as a part of biblical history likewise. But the "Priory of Sion" is a hoax/joke dreamed up by mr Plantard with the help of some surrealistic artists and writers. They planted "historical evidences" in 1956 and waited for someone to find it and do a spin of it.
  2. "Gerokte speck" it was 10 years since I visited to a flemish butcher
  3. next Q: what about the mesh filter... the stock one has an off-centre mounting bolt and no cutout, the v-sump wants a centred bolt and a cutout for the oil flow in-cast tubing. did you just throw it away or shall I do some careful "knifeing"?
  4. Not so much a Biaggi-fan as a racing fan in general. I like Biaggis clean riding style but Vale is the king. Besides Mika Kallio from Finland won the 125GP race on his KTM. It's been a long time since a Nordic rider won a GP race. This weekend both 125 and 250 races were more exciting than the MotoGP race. Nicky Hayden has been in the factory Honda team since he came to MotoGP and never delivered.
  5. I mailed Moto Spezial about it this morning, no reply yet. Tomorrow I will also check what local hardware store can supply.
  6. thanks guys, all became much clearer when I removed the centre housing. Only problem now is the drain line to the frame. The adapter from the old sump does not fit, 'cause the hole in the new sump is a bit larger.
  7. the RGV tail is working quiet well with the lines of the V11 IMHO. Very nice bike
  8. Of course I start this on a sunday with nice weather so I finally get inspired to put the engine together. I removed the sump, flange, oilcoolr and oilfilter so far so good, but then... How the feck does these things come together... looked at the instruction included but it is not very helpful. The housing for the oilpressure-valve and the thermostatic valve is in the way.. 2 Qs: - can I remove the hosusing and valves altogether? - do I need to reroute some oil piping?

    ALARMMMMM

Oh no, JM. I hope the thieves are stupid enough to try to sell it in one piece then they have a good chance to get busted and you get ms Daytona back. Never underestimate the stupidity of stupid people...
  10. Thanks guys, this is the fastest source of Guzziology in the world There may be a difference in the threads according to MS. I'll check it further and go with the the low profiles I have.
  11. I got my V-Ölwanne and am in the process of getting the part together. I got a couple of the low profile oilfilter (UFI 2314900), the original high profile is a UFI 2328700. According to MotoSpezial I can use the low profile filters with an adapter. I am a bit confused... if there are no downsides with using the smaller filter I'll get the adapter, but oil is essential for the engines so I thought I would check here first. Anyone using the smaller filter on a sport-engine?
  12. Yes please, we all love educational pictures.
  13. get a mirror! a modular latched up makes for negative poseur value
  14. and mine was a Piaggio Ciao
  15. Agreed, helmets are for protection. Chinese doghats are for comfort.
  16. Manx and Goldstar as classics 900SS (70-ties) and Jota as modern classics GasGas 450 for pure fun 750F4, 916RS and MGS/1 for fast cornering Martin CBX and Bimota Tesi for oddness V11 Nuda for love
  17. The mesh top and bottom and a rod (6-8 mm something) from top to bottom in the middle. I made a 2-into-1 system of my stock crossover using a rotary cutter, sledge hammer and a welding station. Ugly as h*ll but works OK.
  18. Guzziladen do not supply new PVMs. Däs mototec does: € 2170.30 for just the wheels € 2593.-- including to small rear brake on the 1st picture nice but not cheap
  19. good catch, it also available from Elfa http://www.elfa.se/elfa-bin/setpage.pl?htt...pl?dok=1801.htm
  20. He is quitting international football after his family got several death threats. Details are unclear but Chelsea supporters are the prime suspects. No suprise there, Chelsea fans are a bunch of wankers. Colina is going to retire after this season, at least I heard such rumours. Back to the subject: Wow Jim, the patient soul is sometime rewarded big time. Happy modding and riding!
  21. I have it installed with pretty default values, subjectively I feel a slighty quicker response on sudden throttle opening. Sorry, my figures to back that up.
  22. Maybe this is an option for the LeMans http://www.ohlins.se/mc_sd_mx.shtml
  23. >> some porting work > Please, if possible ask them about that exhaust side "step" we have been discussing above. Will try to remember that, next time I see him. >> 1-2 mm larger better flowing valves >Ok, this will increase top end but what happens to the low end ? Bigger valves mean slower flow >velocities, which could mean poorer mixing and/or less effective filling due to the lack of inlet >charge momentum ? Yes, it is always a compromise. Pocketing reduce the flow a bit, to compensate for that better flowing a-little-larger valves is an option. I trust my 1064cc still gives me all the power I need through the whole register. An R6 put out 100+ hp from 600 cc and is still driveable. > In order to do this, they need to change the valve seats. Yes ? Yes but it needs to be done for pocketing anyway. >> a moderate pocketing (under 1 mm) >Is this simply embedding the valves deeper into the heads/seats ? Seems that it will decrease the >flow but you may need it because more aggressive/higher lifting cam ? Yes, I have a aggresive camshft to try if I get all the other parts together. Mats was asking me about the new pistons since aggressive cams make you loose a bit compression. A got a pair of FBF pistons which will go in this weekend I hope to make up for that. > Keep your digicamera without if possible I will not be able to follow his work in person but the results will be posted here. > A couple of weeks to go and I will try to fire up the Sport first time with the new pistons and head > work. It will be interesting ... I estimate about a month from now, weather permitting, it is still freezing cold here up north. I start to get exaited too, I think the first trip will go to a dynocenter to get the FI dialed in. BTW: We (some guys from Luleå) were discussing rent the Virtasalmi race track a couple of weekdays (cheaper than a weekend) in August, maybe you and some friends would like to get together with us and share the cost.
  24. Have you tried running without the damper? The bike handles perfectly well, better in slow speed and perfectly steady in high speed. The only reason I would not recommend it is the extra safety you get against wobbles and tank slaps with a damper. Still it the feel you get when running without a damper you would like to have and still get the befits of the dampers: - safety against tank slaps - the option to stiff the steering up when running bumpy roads. The magic is low internal resistans which gives you smoothness, and there is no short cuts. It requires sophisticated production methods and low production tolerences. It gets expensive to output supreme quality suspension products. I easily can feel the difference in smoothness beteen my Öhlins/Bitubo steering dampers and between the OEM Marzocchi fork and the Paioli unit I got on now. BTW, Öhlins is swedish. HyperPro which also makes equally excellent steering dampers is dutch.
  25. available now as a torrent I am downloading as I write this. Jaap, hope it is a OK to post an occational torrent-link, remove this post otherwise.
