I owned one for a while. My first Guzzi. Only problem I had was rear brake calipher needed rebuilding. Nice ride. Comfortable. Not much horse power (50 I think) but light so good trade off.
Yes they only have a 2 valve head

I'm glad I live in New Zealand. Only 20 odd cases currently (All from overseas and isolated) Life fairly normal (No overseas travel) And its a great country for motorcycling

My Speedo is bouncing a lot like Tom M's. It settles down for a few k's then starts bouncing again from one side to the other.
Any fresh thoughts on a solution or do I follow Doc's path?

Good to know I'm not only one who has had this problem

With a little help from MartyNZ I have solved my gear box problem. The cause was a peg that had fallen out of the gearbox selection panel. When I took the panel off I found the peg in the bottom of the gearbox. It had fallen out of the hole that's indented it the middle the panel. Thankfully it had not caused any damage to the gears. After we had checked there was nothing else wrong with the panel we hammered the peg back into the panel after coating it with medium Loctite. I see later model V11’s have a nut & bolt to replace the peg. I presume that someone else had this problem. Anyway bike changes gear fine now. I checked the frame number and its within the range that its it eligible for the transmission upgrade. I need to follow up on this.

On a ride with a few of the local Guzzi guys on Sunday I noticed I was getting a lot of false neutrals.
When I went to reengage gear it was with a load grunch and then gear would be engaged but it had shifted 2 gears i.e. 5 to 3 or 2 to 4.
This was happening either shifting up or down. Most gear shifts are happening like this. When taking of from standstill clutch engages fine. Gear shift linkage appears to be fine.
I put bike on workshop stand and tried to shift gears with motor not going. It would only select 1st. With motor going shifting up and down gears was fine.
Bike is a 2001 V11 Rosso Mandello with original Ram clutch 65,000 ks. Oils changed 5,000 ks ago
Any thoughts on what cause of problem could be?

Fellow RM owner here
Where did you get the fairing from?
What was involved in fitting it?
I've looked at the Magni fairings but been blown aware by the price and not been happy about lowering bars
-
Glad others have to resort to pliers to turn pet cock.
Here I thought I was the only one who had to resort to that.
Good idea about the quick disconnect
-
Will you advertise here? I would be very interested in the fairing

Great looking bike. What have you done with indicators?

Took friday off work to go so see family in Dunedin at weekend. Its a 800 k round trip. On friday it was warm and windy. On way back on sunday it was cool & wet.
Yesterday about 30 k's from home the oil light came on. Initialy it was quite bright but it then faded to a low glow.
I stopped and checked for any oil leaks & strange noises - none. I had checked oil level before I left and it was about 1/2 up dipstick. I had done an oil change about 2,000 ks before.
I then started motor and oil light didn't come on so I road home.
After motor had cooled a bit I rechecked oil level and it was about 1/2 way up dipstick.
Motor does not normally use oil. Its done 63,000k
i'm thinking (hoping) water had got into oil sensor on top of motor and caused light to come on.
What do you think?

Try Peter Kelly at Motokiwi in NZ.
Did you know about NZ Moto Guzzi rally? Also know as Tattley Rappit Rally. Its at Motueka this weekend so probably no go if your clutch need replacing.
I've got an RM to. Done 60k clutch still good.

Got bike shop to fit Guzzi ones I got from Guzzi dealer.

Thanks Guys. Will check it out

I replaced Neutral Sensor/switch in left hand side of gearbox a couple of months ago because it was leaking from the plastic end.
This solved the leak but now neutral light comes on when in gear and goes out when in neutral ( the opposite to what is meant to happen.)
Is it likely to be just a faulty switch( Cheap at $20 odd) or an electrical problem?
Old switch worked fine.

I'm thinking it maybe a Ventura rack

Has anyone else had problems with the paint on their grey tail unit on their Rosso Mandello?
Mine goes from grey to a dull white colour.
I've used Meguiars Liquid Wax which brings colour back to normal (photo attached)
On attached photo I've waxed the top but not bottom to show difference.
With panniers frames and a carrier to do a good job you need to remove them both so its not a 5 minute job.
Any ideas whats causing the discolouring and of a way to avoid having to use the wax?

I've got a centre stand fitted to my RM that i brought from a guy in Florida. Its not a Guzzi part. I believe TLM hand them made. Anyway its very hard to use as its got no way of levering the bike. You have to chock the left hand leg with your foot then lift the bike on to the stand. Very hard on the back
