Political threads are very divisive. I well remember when two guys that I know, like and respect.. one left and one right.. blew up Wildguzzi. That caused Luap's "no politics" policy. We, on this little V11 forum, won't cure the problems of the world.. as much as we would like to. My personal opinion is that we should just keep it V11S related.

That's a *nicely* done tool box.
-
Me, either. Saying how I really feel about what is going on might get me banned.

I finally got around to looking at messages, emails, and PayPal. Most have paid already. Some have over paid. (!) Don't worry though.. I won't spend it on something frivolous.. it will go straight to beer. Thanks, again!

Just goes to show you there's an ass for every seat. Not my cuppa, either..but I'm an antiquer.

Power to weight ratio..
-
Believe me, I tried. The problem is this is an "ultralight" and has a max weight of 254 lbs by definition. I thought of a 650, inverted to get the thrust line in the correct place, dry sump, and limited to 3400 rpm.. but it was still too heavy. I'll use a half VW, or a Verner 3 cylinder radial. TBD.

Hey.. we're all friends here. Honestly, I don't mind PayPal getting their cut. It makes it so much simpler for both the buyer and seller *especially* when dealing with non domestic. I worked with a guy in Australia on a Lario engine that didn't want to pay PayPal fees and by the time the banks had done money transfers, etc. it cost more. So, either way is ok with me. For those of you that have already paid..Thanks! I know some paid yesterday as soon as I sent out the cryptic copy and paste messages. I haven't even looked yet. Sorry I wasn't chatty.. I was just trying to get them all done and going to the right place. Dorcia and I were doing a "production" operation.

Yeah, I've been starting on an airplane project for *something to do* during the Covid crisis. Wood from Canada eh? and chrome moly tubing from Germany were both held up in customs for what seemed like forever while I was sitting around waiting for it.
-
Alrighty, now.. they are winging your way after a marathon packing and shipping session with Dorcia's help. Domestic should arrive in 2-3 days. Overseas should arrive eventually. From memory, the longest of the last batch was about 10 days. FWIW, USPS has never lost any that I've sent out so far, but I have tracking numbers if necessary. Whew! It's officially beer o'clock.

It *may* be lighting fooling the phone sensor.. but if I remember correctly they were faded a bit probably from heat. Lister PD Boulder has her now as far as I know.
-
Not yet. I'll no doubt "make" something, but until I have it in hand I have no idea.

Thanks, but no need for beer money, Tom. All the running is figured into the price. If all I had to do was *make* them, they wouldn't cost much. Here's what happens. Order stock. An hour and a half round trip to the water jet shop to take material and a CAD file to them. Twiddle my thumbs a while. Another hour and a half round trip to pick up blanks. Set up the fixture on the cnc. Find the program and remember what tools are used. Do the machine work. File and deburr. Run them through the 20 Ton press in the little die set I made to form them. Degrease from the forming operation. Bead blast. Wipe down with solvent. Paint. Package and address. Off to the post office. Beer o'clock.

Forgot this is a holiday. With all this hovering around the house, every day is like the last one. For some reason, I thought it was Saturday last Wednesday.. needless to say, the Post Office is closed..but.. I did get the Mighty Scura out and roared around a bit.

I'm just sayin..

Here's the last and no doubt highly collectable run of Lucky Phil Shifter Extenders (tm) I had some thin paint on one, and googled to see if you could recoat. Naturally, some said yes, others no. I'm now in the no camp. Ended up with some roughness and a couple of spots. Thought, Oh, no problem, I'll just bead blast it and recoat.. That's some pretty tenacious stuff.. I'll go to the post office after lunch and pick up some customs declarations which I have to fill out in triplicate, then the post office lady has to fill them out in triplicate.. what's up with that? My packaging lady is off today, too..so it will probably be Wednesday when I start shipping them. If you haven't sent me an email or PM with your shipping address, you had better get on the stick.
-
I'm going to deliver them in order. Sorry, you are the last that asked for one. You get the one off the MIghty Scura. I bead blasted and powder coated it. It is not new, and not "perfect" so I will sell it to you for half price if that is ok with you.

Whoa, stop the presses. When I first ordered material, I had 12 orders. I told the water jet shop to just use up the material. They cut out 24 blanks. During the production run this weekend, my operator (me) didn't get two fully seated in the pocket before clamping them down. Those two are .020" off, and don't meet the rigorous AeroMotive inspection methods. So. I have orders for 23 this morning. (!) I'll take one off the Mighty Scura, and put one of the out of spec parts on her. That's it. No more..

I already tole ya. 03 and later are the best sorted from the factory. Ohlins bikes make a difference in the twisties if you care about that kind of stuff. If you like red, get a Rosso Corsa. Simples.
-
Whew! Thanks for the update. Nasty stuff for sure.
-
Woops, I missed this one. Crap. I may be out of parts. Send me an email (or PM) with your shipping address.
-
Send me an email or PM with your shipping address. When I send it, I will let you know the exact shipping (no fondling) charge.
-
03, on. Any of the Ohlins bikes. Rosso and Neros are my pick of the "best." Well sorted from the factory. Of course, the "best" is mine.

If the valves are tightening up, yes. The only other thing I know of is the valves are stretching. That isn't common on the big blocks as far as I know. I just never imagined that the base circle wouldn't be on the money. Grinders are very accurate machines by design. Maybe a case of a little knowledge getting me in trouble? Forget everything I said last night.. Set them at TDC and forget them, Onibaka.. don't worry, be happy.
