  1. It's a disaster around here, too, Remo. Our local county has 40 deaths from the virus so far. To say the US was woefully unprepared is an understatement. Take care of yourself, and best of luck..
  2. Thankya, sir.. thankya.
  3. Since it's a Greenie.. it *may* be a cracked transmission mount. That is a known issue on the early red frames. Just the same, before I would go to all the trouble of pulling the transmission, I'd clean it very well and spray it with athlete's foot powder, baby powder, etc. Then.. you can see where the leak originates.
  4. Ok, I *loved* Angels when I had the Mighty Scura in SoCal with their smooth roads. My Kid in Wisconsin hated them. Hmmm. Brought the Scura back to Indiana, and the Angels were gone in no time. Especially on the edges. The high crowns in the road and chip and seal ate them up. I've been a fanboy of Conti Attacks for quite a while. YMMV of course, but I likes em.
  5. Ok, I took out the question mark after the (2) on your original message..
  6. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Moto-Guzzi-Custom-VALVE-COVERS-Big-Blocks-Square-Fin-Heads-1100-For-A-PAIR/143441407414?hash=item2165c62db6:g:QZoAAOSwxORdzNUx
  7. Of course. Not that it's a bad thing. Guzzis are about as "mechanical" as a bike gets. There is just something about them. but.. of course I'm preaching to the choir. Chuck, deacon Church of Guzzi
  8. It's been a long time since I've seen one. Do they have the piston like the bigger ones? A cable can keep the plunger from seating once opened.. weak return spring, cable binding up, that sort of thing. I'd make sure all that is totally free.
  9. Will do, Tim.. I assume you are still in Carlsbad?
  10. Just an update. Austin has the cnc tied up for a considerable time making oiler equipment. I'll go ahead and order material and see if I can get blanks made. Don't be in a hurry, though.. I'll get to it eventually.
  11. FWIW, my old Norge wouldn't run with the pump unhooked.
  12. Probably the choke is hanging up. At any rate a good clean up is in order. They aren't rocket science..
  13. Yeah, it's a go. Hi, Phillip.. when you contacted me, you said 2 if necessary. It's now not necessary. Do you just want 1?
  14. Ok, send me your snail mail..
  15. Chuck

    Decent Tune-up

The technical term for that is "picking the fly shit out of the pepper." You'll never notice it when going down the road. Yeah, Dave's a good guy.
  16. The shift return spring failed on the Mighty Scura. That's what got me into the whole tuning up the preselector thing.
  17. Will do. Either send me your snail mail address by PM or email.
  18. Geeze.. I probably have it but send me a PM with your info. We're officially on track to make some. If anyone else wants one.. speak now.
  19. No. It's just 6 bolts. The special tools are for removing the clutch. You'll need them to install it, too. You may have already warped the intermediate plate and or clutch plates by not using it.
  20. And yet, you gave me no end of grief over my gaudy gaiters. (tm)
  21. Chuck

    Thanks

^^^^ Ahem. That would be Shirley.
  22. Think about how the clutch works. There are two clutch plates with an intermediate plate between them held together by a pressure plate and springs. All three are located in the flywheel by splines. The inner splines fit the transmission input shaft splines. Engaging the clutch frees the plates. They are free to rattle back and forth because of the uneven firing order of the Guzzi engine. Naturally, as they do this, you can hear them. What you don't want to do is leave the clutch "engaged" for any length of time because of this. Bump it into neutral and release the lever as much as possible. That will reduce wear of the flywheel, clutch splines, and transmission input splines.
  23. Unbelievable. You can't trade Guzzi parts for crack. You're probably right, they didn't know what it was.. it just looked great.
  24. ^^^^Yeah, but the problem is "unite." This country is the most divided it's been since the civil war, IMHO.
