  1. my 94 Camaro had rollers. So does my 08 'vette. (my car has roller tappets, not rockers)
  2. The tach on my EV appears identical to the one my Sport.
  3. when did they put a walking bridge in the back of the museum? Was the water always there?
  4. country music has gone from Garth '70s pop rock to Stapleton's driving blues. Just add some twang to the vocals to both styles. I'd say it's quite an improvement.
  5. I put some Gunk in the EV yesterday and ran it about 40 miles. Nothing to report. But I was thinking, that I probably should've put the Gunk in the Sport BEFORE I changed oil rather than after.
  6. working as a civilian logistician for the Air Force, I can remember a directive to convert all fasteners from standard to metric. Of course they wanted to start first with newly acquired aircraft Modifications (capital "M") which was what I did. I wish this wasn't the worst or the only silly directive that impacted the job but it was just one of many that wasted time, caused much trouble until falling from it's own weight. I am glad to be retired.
  7. Just saw the e-mail from Piaggio USA. Our friend Don, the guy that makes the transmission braces for the Redframes, will be our new dealer for Guzzi, Aprilia and Vespa here in Oklahoma City. Don has made a second run of transmission braces. So I know you guys are buying his parts. BTW- he's also part of a new company that makes motorcycle shocks, so he's making a custom shock for my Greenie. I've given him the stats and want it gray with a red spring and remote preload adjuster. I'll give a report. I've written a little summary on WIld. But if you haven't read it, Piaggio looks like a good fit. They aren't going to drown him with motorcycle inventory, They want service and lifestyle brand which fits Don pretty well since he build customs, likes off brand stuff, and has a good following in the community. http://www.motivcycleworks.com He'll be moving the shop to a new location to make room for a show room and perhaps move to a final location later that he can own. As soon as it's firmed up, I'll let you know.
  8. Rich, what races are run on Sunday? You're meaning the day after the 200?
  9. yeah, but one of them birds is facin' the wrong way. jus' sayin'
  10. come Hell or High Water, Chuck will see it through
  11. Man, that does look good. I might've gone that route if I had known to order that set up. The logos and the correct speedo and tach numbers make it look right.
  12. $300 for tach + speedo is a good deal.
  13. It was a nice 69 degrees today, so I dumped some Gunk in the Sport and did 75 miles. Nothing to report.
  14. + paint and body work (black and silver would be easy, candy apple green is another matter). perhaps some scrap and rework drilling the windshield and fairing pieces. And then new clip ons and controls to fit the fairing as well as all the bracketry for the light and mounting. But Dave, if anyone can show us the way, it has to be you!
  15. Nick, if you've been watching on Wild, know that Chris (aka Twowings, Norge guy) is planning to camp just south of town at the Shady Oaks Campground. https://camptheoaks.com I have 98 EV and with that seat, I am better off on the Sport. But not sure about hauling camp gear on it. I've always camped on the EV.
  16. My goodness. We are getting some interest particularly on Wild. Make sure that you go ahead and book a room. I dare say, I count about 20. Given 50% follow through, that could easily be 10.
  17. If the tach doesn't work but you hear it rattle when it's shaken, it's likely the counter weight. Epoxy fix.
  18. I happened across thos video referring to seafoam recently- seems to advise against the stuff: I saw the video and enjoy Scotty. His big point is that Seafoam doesn't benefit Direct Injection engines, especially the VW that had a real carbon/coke issue on the intake / combustion areas. (We're talking $2k to blow it out with walnut shells, before the timing adjuster packs up and ruins the engine altogether.) Although we don't have DI, if Gumout will clean the fuel system better, go for it. Seafoam was good for sticking floats -we don't have carbs either. But that old Toyota did show thorough carbon clean with Gumout. Dang impressive. He didn't compare if Seafoam would do the same. Since my motorcycles all have plenty of miles on them, I might run some Gumout to clean out the carbon. Again, it couldn't hurt. And what, you'll spend the same $10 for 20 pack of Pabst? Ohh.... wait??!!
  19. Airtech doesn't sell the windshields either. But Gustafson Plastics makes many to fit.
  20. The whiteface EV tach is the same as on the Greenie. The internal counterweight came loose of my EV tach. Took the bezel off (terrible job and worse to put it back on) and epoxied the weight back on. No problems since. The EV speedo is getting pretty loopy at 65k miles. Speedo says I am going 60 when I am actually going about 45. It doesn't jump but is getting VERY optimistic. Probably won't get it repaired until it stops altogether. Then back to Joel Levine.
  21. Docc, yeah. I'd like to do it every year. Sorry you can't make it this year.
  22. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=94356.0 It's been posted on Wild. Officially not-a-rally.
