  1. Is this it? https://www.harpermoto.com/33-gasket-en.html that one doesn't match my EV for my Sport. Mine has a single signal indicator at the very top while this one has separate left and right.
  2. ffffftttttttttttttttttttttttttt!
  3. sounds awful. if the cam was 360 out, would that do it?
  4. I'd go with the SV. But I like reliability and performance. I am becoming more and more "character deficient."
  5. I'd stay away from 3 day weekends. How about 12 May? 19th? Thursday night - Sunday morning. Seville Hotel?
  6. Looks like an old SV1000 which I understand was a great bike.
  7. so do Canada and Europe subsidize corn fuel like in the USA?
  8. let's pick a date. we've gotta get the Docc and some of those Tennessee boys too.
  9. wow. bike looks great. I wish I had contacted MI. Love the levers and lines.
  10. just wanted to pass on my business with that light. I was on a campout and did about 300 miles over the weekend. I noticed when I started the bike cold that the light never came on. There after it did the normal flicker upon turning the key and starting and running. I changed out that bulb on my EV a few years ago and it was heck getting it to seat. I never got it to light when I was installing and gave up trying. Then later it seemed to work fine. In fact, it's bright on until it starts (as it should be?), then flickers at idle and goes out when revved.
  11. wow. wish I had known. would've saved a lot of $$. more than $60 for sure.
  12. http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2017/10/02/tom_petty_was_rock_s_best_writer_of_opening_lines.html He was maybe the best writer of first lines in all rock music. “Well, she was an American girl,” begins his second single, “raised on promises” That ability allowed him to compress his character sketches into diamonds. The lover in “Refugee,” laying his cards on the table: “We got somethin’, we both know it, we don’t talk too much about it.” The Southern wastrel of “Rebels,” protesting, “Honey, don’t walk out, I’m too drunk to follow.” The one who made it out, announcing his return in “Down South”: “Headed back down south, gonna see my daddy’s mistress.” The last is a nine-word line that starts with a cliché and ends up establishing what could be the premise of a novel.
  13. A little more info. Is the bike a redframe or newer? The redframes have quicker handling. BTW- I wouldn't go stiffer with the front end, just the opposite. I love the handling on my redframe but high speed handling can be a bit twitchy, especially with HB bags mounted on the back. To compensate, I've found that 30lb in the front tire and 40 in the rear work OK. But that's not so good in the twisties when the bags are off, 34/38 works much better for sport riding (no bags).
  14. Our group in OKC had 31 bikes. The Greenie was the only Guzzi. I did set up a contribution page but frankly have spent most of my charitable time for voters registration and related. Feel free to contribute. https://www.gentlemansride.com/fundraisers/lowryter
  15. I test rode one just like it. Ended up with the Bandit which is lighter and more powerful. I know three or four riders that own Thunderbird Sports, which are tarted up version of this one.
  16. Vents- welcome to the board. A spring Ozark Spineframe rally works for me. How about sometime in May? The weather should be good and we have 7 months to plan for it. Between you, Leroy and Rocker, we have three Spineys close by already.
  17. My mechanic here in OKC, Don- the guy that fixed the cracked tranny on my Greenie, is an Ohlin's trained guy. He might give you a good deal servicing your shock. He did so for a fellow on WG who was pleased with his work. http://www.motivcycleworks.com/
  18. I had an FZ09 for a while, same basic bike as the FJ. Yes, ugly but a truly amazing engine. I test rode the FZ when it came out. Most disappointing motorcycle in memory, terrible suspension and worst throttle EVER! Frame and engine were great. I suppose I was let down by my expectations but no way would I ever get a gen 1 FZ. Actually all those bikes are too ugly for my taste. Too bad they don't make an FJ with good looks. Still jonesin' for the SS..... I think they fixed the throttle on later models. that's why I considered an FJ09. But they are all ugly.
  19. all this moisture business just indicated the need for an Italian tune-up whenever you ride. Nail the gas, redline the thing.............................put some heat in it
