Even the old Tuono V twin was more than a match for my 1200 Bandit. The new V4 must be an absolute rocket. Too bad they don't have a sport touring version with body work and bags. Something in between the superbike and Tuono.

I think the Guzzi TPS a PF3? This might be the PF4 (Harley p/n) on my EV. But there is a gap.

Sorry for the dumb questions, when you mention "leads" are you talking about the connectors to the coil or the plugs? or something else? And if there is a problem do I clean the leads or replace the leads or coils? Thanks

My EV has flat spots at couple of rpm areas. Intermittent, from barely noticeable to barely rideable. Replaced the TPS and synced the TBs. This might be a good place to start. BTW- the plug caps require me to unscrew the caps on the plugs.

Got my tickets for the Dead & Co in Dallas 1 Dec. I got into one of those advanced tickets sales deals with Ticketmaster and the "best tickets" were nosebleed. Interesting marketing gimmick those guys have- sell the cheap seats first. No worries, I do expect a sell out since the AA center probably doesn't hold more than 15k and there must've been 65k at Boulder

That's a 750 Royal Enfield Interceptor twin. Back when they were made in Jolly 'ol England (and from what I've been told, not very well).

I've got the new pads installed, cleaned and lubed the calipers and pins. I think these were the original Brembo pads (41k miles). I can't ever remember changing them since I bought the bike with 12k miles on it. The rears were shot when I got the bike. It appears the culprit was a misaligned pad. The edge on the right left inside pad was ground down. Actually the pads still had some meat left and could've gone more miles. The bikes stops and goes well. I've taken the bags off the bike and adjusted the air pressures to 34 front and 38 rear (from 31.5/39 with the bags on).

Thanks Docc, I meant by performance that the brakes didn't fail or fade. Thankfully the issue was just messy brake dust. Got to look at them and the inside pads are shot. Getting new pads tomorrow and will inspect and clean the calipers up.

Thanks Docc. Cleaning the brakes was my first thought. This situation would cause brake wear but not affect brake performance?

Just and update regarding tires and "weave" on the red frame. I did 1500 mile trip with bags loaded. New tire on the front and nearly new on the rear. The tires consistently held pressure at 39 lb rear and 31.5 lb front (never had to add air during the trip). Bike stayed stable most of the trip. Got a little weave once when running up to traffic at 90+ mph. A couple times wind buffeting and road surface gave me a slight oscillation. On the twisty roads the fully loaded bike handled fine with a comfortable ride to boot. I was pretty aggressive with it in the Ozark mountains in Ark and Missery. When I take the bags off I'll probably up the front to 34 lb but the bike still handled responsively at 31.5.

Cab-. Thanks. The discs are original. Can't remember when pads were changed but plenty of pad left (at least on the outside). The only difference is the tire was changed, the calipers removed and reinstalled. I can only guess that the pads are somehow crooked or misaligned or some debris is causing the pads to not fully retract. But the grinding is so slight that it's not affecting brake performance. Having written that, it doesn't seem possible.

I just took the Greenie on a 1500+ mile rt trip (OKC - Springfield IL). I had the front tire changed before I left. Anyway, the right front brake is shedding brake dust everywhere. A day's ride and it's black, all over the rim, even on the fork and fender. I am not riding the brake and much of the ride was on open highways where the brakes were barely used. I would check it when I stopped, neither the rotor or the caliper was hot. I did a few brake checks in the twisties and no fade. No fade at any time for the entire trip. It's a dirty and strange problem for me and my three (Guzzi) riding buddies to figure out.

If you have spark, fuel, and compression, I would guess ignition timing. I would make sure I had spark and fuel. Just pull a lead, get a spare plug and watch it spark on the fins (if you hadn't done so). I had a similar problem on my EV. The fuel pump wasn't working because the fuse wasn't making good contact in the fuse block. It was intermittent and drove me nuts; I only figured it out by accident. Sorry, I am not much help.

I thought that "little black plastic cylinder" was a replacement for the micro switch striker ball bearing (that likes to fall out)? (I went through all that crap yesterday working on my EV.)

Yes. The guys on Wildguzzi said to post here also in that you folks could give me more info. I was one of them. You might check out the transmission leak thread. IIRC this is a low mileage "red frame" bike so the leak isn't an issue now but I would recommend that you consider installing the support bracket to prevent a cracked transmission housing. My mechanic was able to weld the tranny case and fix the leak on mine. He was also able fabricate a support bracket that attaches the frame to bell housing. My bike had about 35k miles on it when it started to leak. I think he's sold half a dozen or so to folks on the list.

regarding air pressure. I've complained about weave when carrying my large HB Jr bags. Since I am traveling next week to Springfield Mile, I decided to experiment with air pressure. My test today with the weighted bags was 45 lb of air in the rear and 30 lb in the front. It did seem a lot less nervous up to about 80 (couldn't get much faster). Got around some Semis and followed a Dually and it seems much better. Of course until I am traveling 80 around Semis, I won't know for sure. Anyway, 45/30.

I was tent camping at Barber for the Superbike races, It was April and 90 degrees when I got there Thursday night. Sunday morning was record cold with frost on my Suzuki. . The floats were stuck and it wouldn't run. I gave away my lap of the circuit ticket ($20). Luckily I trailered. Had a great time.
