  1. Superman's favourite colour that.
  2. My Sachs has just emptied itself. Which serves me right for: 1) Saying "I think my bike's fairly sorted now". 2) Claiming that "I think I got a 'good one'". I saw from previous threads that rossi46 fitted a Hyperpro to his machine. Any other suggestions from other UK owners? Due to a new set of tyres and needing new clocks I don't fancy spending on top quality Ohlins or owt... Any input much appreciated. Ta, Stew
  3. Cafe sport without a doubt! Look! They even made the forks out of Gold!! (See if you can talk the price down to £4,500!) Won't be as fast as a tuono though- if that's what teases your weasel that is... Maybe a good question would be: How happy are you to get yer paws dirty? Got tools? I think mine's a 'good one', but she still wants a fair bit of attention. Plus, Scotland is jam packed with BMW's already. Stew
  4. I've the standard ballabio 'bars on mine but have often wondered how clip-ons might feel. Looks like they'd be quite far away... Extra points: What's that curved plastic plate set into the control housing for? Stew
  5. BT, the tenni in Shipley looks lovely, price seems high but it is a limited edition production of a damn fine riding machine. Personally, I'd love one. Personally, I wouldn't be able to use it regularly as I'd be permanently worried about it getting nicked/damaged. V11's seem to be worth 3 grand plus at the mo. A really scratty one maybe a bit less? At this stage the values can surely only go up. Before I chanced upon my lovely lovely lovely V11, I was looking at either an SV1000, aprilia falco or buell firebolt which all seem to be great fun. I am so pleased with the guzz though! She's heavy, down on power on paper, can't match Japanese reliability, but rides beautifully.
  6. I'd agree. I managed to grab some X-less headers- which I wanted mainly for the improved aesthetics but also to make it easier to access the alt cover. There was nowt wrong with the old headers, possibly I had a rare pair that cinched up tight, I don't know... I can't discern any appreciable loss in performance. However, I managed to tinker her into a sweet spot and she runs lovely now. Which is the most important thing, I'd say. Stew. Oh, and mine has the mistral rear x-over plus the damn-tasty mistral titanium cans (run without db killers as she sounds so good).
  7. Hi Martin! The wheel comes off quite easily. - Pop her on a stand. - 6mm hex to remove the caliper. (needly nose pliers for r-clip first!) and hangar. - axle nut off. - slide a chock o wood under the tyre to take the weight. - pull axle thru most of the way, leave some in to hold the bevel box. - sit behind, grab tyre, slide chock out, ease it to the left off the drive splines. - hoik it out. Important- be mindful of the spacer that should sit on the axle, between wheel and bevel box! Bleed clutch, will prob need a good scrub around there first with a toothbrush or similar + some degreasant or such. Pump grease into your nipples man! Finger your bearings for play! Re-assemble. Stew
  8. Yea, I have no MOT at the mo, so a 200 mile round trip struck me as a cheeksome idea... Probably could've got away with it, but I was fair knackered after a hard days plastrin anyways. Another time eh...? Stew
  9. Possibly due to all that rain been driven into it, as I have no fairing. :'(
  10. I too need a new speedo.
  11. Heh! Fairings are for girly girly girl girls! A real man wants the fierce wind and snarly bugz a-mashin in iz moustache! Don't fear the wind!! Embrace it!! RRarrrr!!
  12. I can't see your posted pix on that thread, got a working link at all? If I get done in time this Thursday, I'll bob over to have a squint at them in person.

Ay up dude: Bennetts have all v11 models. Just about to renew mine- £108 fc. Grumble? Not me. Can't remember seeing another v11 razzing about Sheffield... Stew
  14. Mmmm, I bet that's nice. I got a bottle of the Ron Zacapa 25 a couple of burpdays ago- have you tried that one? I can't recommend it highly enough! Also, the Gosling Family Reserve was equally superb.
  15. Grabbed a bottle of the Glengoyne 10 yr old. A man with broken clox and a recently expired MOT needs some comfort. Now that's a tasty beverage, and keenly priced too! Stew
  16. Cheers Docc, yeah when I took the tacho out I found 2 broken wires and a puddle (is anyone else tempted to pierce a small drain hole in the tach side??). I've a spare tacho as it happens due to the current one being reet misty. Not certain why the speedo/odo failed yet but seeing as I smashed the binacle when I dropped her off the stand, I was thinking of replacing the lot. All other leccy components seem fine so far...
  17. Anyone know poss ballpark costs to get them into the UK?
  18. Cheers man, some stuff to mull over there.... I've just been inspecting the damage to my binacle (arf!) and maybe it aint too bad to fix after all... We also say "Shit load". Sometimes we've been known to call it a "@#!#$# tonne". Pardon my potty mouth.
  19. Right O, let us know if Moore's get back to you Steve, be interesting to know their input. Scud: 1) My preliminary thoughts are to replace the whole stock set-up with a 'pared down' appearance- one unit on a bracket. However I've not had time to muse too deeply as yet. Electrics aren't my strong point but I'd be happy to shape a bracket up (plus Moore's say they have them to suit anyway). 2) Speedo signal... hmmm... this straight from the website and over my head: "...compatible with most of original speedo sensors (Dry-Reed and inductive proximity sensor like BuellTM oder Harley-DavidsonTM). In this case you connect some cables and you do not need to install a sensor. An intelligent 'Teach-Function' enables the instrument to calibrate itself when riding the bike." 3) I assume the unit would feed off the existing cabling. 4) The unit is apparently water- and shock-proof. 5) Oil gauge and Voltmeter? I don't need the extra worry, ta! Great thread from yourself, Chambers and Roy by the way- I feel the job mightn't be as scarey as I'd thought. Stew.
  20. My clocks have died so am looking for a new set-up. Moore Speed Racing have a great range of stuff available and I particularly like the idea of fitting a small, single unit, a la: http://www.moorespeedracing.co.uk/cafe-racer-guages/motogadget-motoscope-tiny-speedo.html I'm happy enough to potter my way thru electrical works but I wondered if the more savvy amongst us think fitting such a unit would be relatively straightforward? Are there any obvious issues to be aware of when installing different gauges? Ta for any input , Stew
  21. All interesting stuff this- great info! I just got back from a Scotland trip, bike ran sweet as a nut all the way round As I was a-heading back south, I went the scenic route thru alston and buttertubs etc etc (so, so recommended), I lost the tacho, odometer and speedo all in the space of 10 miles... Quite novel not knowing how fast you're going! Heh! Got the bike home, on the stand, full clean down, new tyres + bearings, everything greased up like a piggy, clox turned out to have various broken wires plus a puddle sitting in there.... 'That'll be the problem then', I thought, 'Sod it, I'm off for a clock-less spin on my new tyres anyways'. Dropping her off the stand the weight falls weird and over she goes. Cnut. The clock housing catches on my workshop stand and smashes it up. I thinks that'd be irony right there. Soooo, I'm in the market for a new set-up methinks. Stew
