al_roethlisberger Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Jaap and @docc I've run into the following issue a few times recently where I've apparently "liked", "thanked", etc enough posts in a 24 hour period where the forum enforces a setting limiting any further "reactions" for the day. One doesn't run into it much I suspect, but when you do it can be disappointing to be unable to provide feedback for other posts for an entire day. It's not a major issue, but I wonder if this is a setting you can adjust to allow for more "reactions" during a 24 hour period, or is there some risk to doing so? Thanks, 1 1
docc Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 This happens to me every day. Staying so active here, I long ago went to using "reactions" instead of adding another post to a thread. It's a great way to help keep a thread, especially the technical threads, uncluttered. I'm not sure what the daily limit is, but they seem to reset on Varsseveld time . . . 1 1
LowRyter Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 That's what you get for "overreacting". Next we'll ban "reactionaries". <rim shot> 1 6
p6x Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 I participate in forums that have removed appraisals; either the "dislike", or both "Like and dislike". Since our forum does not have a dislike, you can't chastise anybody, it should be allowed to show tokens of appreciation as often as you deem. However, and I believe this may have to do with it, there is a ranking done on members. This ranking uses the number of "like" received. Isn't it @docc? so you can only express yourself a limited number of times, should your "favorite" be rewarded for each and every of his posts by you. @al_roethlisberger

Thanks, Well, there was a setting buried deep in the admin section. Not sure if it's the right one, the explanation was in rather technical english. Let me know if this happens again 4

In the past I found if I wait until later in the day, the counter resets. 1
Admin Jaap Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 There are literally thousands of settings... maybe I reset only a member setting and not a moderator setting. Give me some time to check again 1 2
gstallons Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Something like this starter problem should go into a PM or group message only to keep down on traffic on the main part of the subject .
