Loads of chatter in various threads here, but no proven formula afaik. If i recall, it's down to the actuator rod length/dia and maybe the cup hole diameter, depending on the rod you use (and maybe modify). It'll be great to have a definitive example of parts and measurements for the RAM 5sp used in a 6spd. 1

docc Posted June 8 Posted June 8 Your clutch parts look quite good from the images. While you're in that space, good to take care of the seven (or are there eight?) potential leak points . . . 2

While you're in that space, good to take care of the seven (or are there eight?) potential leak points . . . Meh...I'll replace at least the center disc and frictions. I'll send the pressure plate up to the boys in Ohio to be ground flat, looks to be less than .010" dish but new discs don't like point loading. I don't like the heat signatures on the surfaces, anyway. Certainly I'll get into the leak points, wringing my hands over the rear main seal. Probably should just suck it up and make it new, though there's no sign of leaks anywhere... from the last time in turned over, maybe 8 years ago lol 2
Pressureangle Posted June 13 Author Posted June 13 (edited) So, bearing race came off, with a little learning curve on the new inductive heater- it comes with an insulating wrap specifically for bearing races. It doesn't say why, other than that the coil used for races isn't preformed and I assume it is so you can use it on any size, and the insulator keeps the coil cover from burning. With 3 wraps and the insulator, I had to go back 4 times, the last time being for 25 seconds plus whatever heat was in it beforehand. Here's what it looks like apart, with everything in order of assembly (the compensator ramp and gear in the case simply slide apart as well) The bearing in question is on the right, trapped by everything between it and the end race on the left. Tomchri Posted June 16 Posted June 16 I realy like the WP suspension on the 1100 Sport, but there is a plastic part that's hard to find. So yes I woud put a WP front on the V11. Øhlins on two V11, and yes they are nice. Look for some used ones. Wilbers only offer springs for the front, but exelent rear schock. Just my experience. Cheers Tom. 2

Don't forget, kids, do your pawl adjustment in the vice or do it twice. Now waiting for seals and pawl adjuster locknuts. 2
Pressureangle Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 (edited) Here's the results from the injector service. Clearly, it's necessary. Edited June 25 by Pressureangle 3

Well, the 'ol 97 came to me in boxes so I don't get to compare-hoping to make the '25 SSR with it...we'll see My 1100 Sport injectors were just slightly worse and a little more out of balance, it made a *huge* difference- I had to take 10% of the fuel out across the board, and of course everything was just smooth and silky afterwards. Had to rebalance the throttle bodies as well. 3
gstallons Posted June 25 Posted June 25 You never get 100% out of your bike until you put 100% into doing the fuel injectors. If anything , you find out they are producing everything they are supposed to do. 2
