You guys in Denmark (or anywhere taxes are that high), are in need of a revolution! 180% tax on a bike? What is your income tax rate like? I could understand those kinds of taxes only if there are maybe no taxes in other areas of life. I suppose you get all kinds of for your tax money though lol. You can buy most anything in the rest of the EU and import it without duty as long as the local duty is paid in the country of origin. A few years ago it was a great dodge to buy your car in Belgium. In Sweden we have to tax again if we buy finnish machine diesel wihich is already taxed in Finland. The oil companies wants control over each local market to maximize profits. Hey, the swedes pays approx the same But their cars are cheaper. But I don't wanna move to Sweden, Gthyni, I hate to spend my time commuting. And we do have a revolution going on, the present government is calling it a taxstop - i.e. they are promising not to increase the taxes, it's a huge debate in Denmark. Taxreduction - no way we're getting that - not significantly. But every dane is hoping that the common market will undermine the tax on cars and motorbikes. Denmark recently lost in EU-court regarding the car-tax, a small defeat, but here's to hoping it's the small leak, that'll break the dam. And seen from US, Denmark is a pinko socialist/commie state, but education and hospitals are free for all, so it's worth the money (and the commie-label). Wandering into the local "big" store in Vojens is just like going into Target. Taxes are still ridiculous though. I limited my shopping to antiques while I was there - and lived on Corn Flakes to pay for them. Weirdly enough, Gillete razor blades were exactly half the cost in Denmark that they were in the USA. Must be because Gillette enjoys a near monopoly on the US market. While I'm not entirely fond of the bigger cities, the Danes were extremely friendly and the smaller towns were very enjoyable. Not to mention no test ride either. Talk about brand loyalty I must admit I didnt ride mine before I bought it either, but I did take a real good look at it first I'm scared to ride a new one because I'll probably buy the damned thing. To this day I have not seen another V11 on the road. I must admit I was nervous when I picked the bike up because it was one of those first impression situations. You know the type, you'll either love it or hate it. But like I have said before mine is a keeper. Pete, if you're quick enough you might still be able to get the personalised plate AWANKA before it's gone. Seriously good on ya, the Griso is not my cup of tea... While I haven't ridden one I have had an oportunity to crawl all over a Breva and I have to admit I liked the platform but loathed the looks. The Griso I actually like the look of. The fiorst pics I saw when it was fitted with the Hi-Cam motor I thought it looked like a right pig's breakfast, the newer pics I really like the style, as others have said, like a Centauro with the corners knocked off. As I said elsewhere that muffler's gotta go, in fact I reckon a Dr.John type 2 into 1 would be good, pity there isn't room under the rear mudguard or you could have an underseat, centre exit pipe which would look pretty neat. Look, I know it's a risk, they may turn out to be a complete dog. I hope not though. My current machines are keepers. Whether the Griso fits that mould too only time will tell, but there is enough genuinely new and inovative about it for me to be genuinely interested, so? Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, it's off to the Credit Union I Go!!!! While 25 years ago there was no way in the world I could ever think about purchasing a new motorbike one of the very few benefits of age and, (supposed !) maturity is that I have a sufficiently good credit rating to mean I can ask and the bank will give, if I'm really smart I'll be able to write the wretched thing off as a business expense . Well, it's a tool innit? And I'll be using it for my business? Re the motor they say "based on Breva 1100...but nearly 50% internal components new over that engine...rods 10% lighter, pistons shorter & lighter..." I'd thought the Breva & Griso had same motor. If it's lighter internals than Breva, it's gonna be real revvy....still i bet you got an old T bike flywheel around somewhere... Hope it does it for you.
