  1. I have no problem stepping out of the way and letting the pros work. I was just the instigator and wanted to see the plates being offered again. My job is done. Now everyone just needs to order some plates! Well, soon. Thanks again to Pete for letting us continue his work! And to Chuck and Pressureangle for making it happen!

  2. Ah...hem. Yes. Pete, you've given the MG community far more than you may know, or possibly could have received in return. Well done. I couldn't have made this happen so easily without Swooshdave and Chuck. It was my intention to let Swooshdave be the front man, but since the cat is out of the bag, they are made, and waiting only on engraving; I'm hesitant to let them go blank but the engraving is way behind schedule. The price will be $70.00US plus a medium USPS priority box, $14.35, total $84.35US. International buyers pay only what actual shipping costs, we'll send them anywhere. I have to set up a proper company PayPal yet, but checks and money orders are ok after clearing and I have to check on VISA/MC/AMEX before making a statement of certainty.

  3. Well, I'd just like to say a big 'Thank you' to 'Pressureangle' who today dropped a not insignificant amount of money into my paypal account. While handing over manufacture of sloppage sheets was not something that I was expecting to make any money out of really the last year has been pretty tough for my business with my understudy Michael busting his back and becoming a paraplegic setting up a 'Cripple Friendly' workshop has been both time consuming and expensive! Particularly as diminished income meant there was less tax money to use as write-offs for new tooling and equipment! While Jude and I are far from paupers the bank accounts, both business and personal, have taken a severe pizzleing this year. The cash injection is greatly appreciated. As well as the filthy lucre for me for every plate sold there is going to be a donation made to MSF for all their excellent work so please, if you need a plate buy one from Eric rather than the thieving twats in Huddersfield who stole the design and copied it without even so much as a 'By your leave'. 7. good question. in "middle aged" aircraft (80's & 90's) i can think of a couple setups where a thermal CB will trip, and a warning light illuminates, and you either see it or a checklist directs you to look for it, and it can reset itself with time (which i assume is usually cooling), or you manually reset it once its cool enough, which in that case is more or less like a standard CB, but still physically a little different. Of course my 1938 T-craft did not have that kind of equipment :->, but the later jets do. Maybe these automotive cb's give an indication... that would be interesting. Mikko presumably knows ?

  8. All the fuses in the factory fuse block are "Regular" (APR / ATC / ATO / ATS) blade-type fuses (not Maxi, Mini, or Micro). For roadside assistance, consider AMA (American Motorcyclist Association). For their $35(?)/year membership, they cover all your bikes and cars as well as kids away at school. Excellent service!

  9. Thx all. docc - can u confirm if the 30a though, in its current stock form, is the typical automotive style? To get her home, i’d Just like to have a spare for the trip. Dave - good point on the stock tool kit... i always forget about that. I have a tool kit for each bike, based on how and where i use the bike. For my Alaska bike, its got a large-ish, well thought out tool kit, whereas for my street machines here at home its usually some spare odds and ends (fuses, relays, zip ties), a tool or two, and a credit card. But this bike is low miles (good), but by definition has been mostly sitting for 17yrs, and its not had a chance to sit in my shop to get looked over yet, so i’m Doing a little more doomsday prep’ing for this 2300+ mile run. Though i very well may just leave it at my brothers place in Durango, if i get there and decide that there’s not enough massage therapists and decent hooch to get me the rest of the way home. Went out to the shop tonight and grabbed my back country tool kit, and just pulled out select items, and placed them in a much smaller little case (an old Aerostitch canvas zip bag of some sort i had laying around). Its a “celebrity lineup” of the faves from that larger bag, minus the chain tool stuff and larger wrenches, which ends up also representing a decent cross section of what Docc shows in his serious equippage/setup. I don’t plan to do any big maintenance, but will be on some back roads where i’d Rather not have to try and call for help, so electrical stuff will be the main concern, after a basic tire plug and fill kit. pressureangle - i may actually consider upgrading my wife’s AAA subscription.... i’ve Never had it, but via a promotion they offer she can add someone in same household for free (1st year), then the next level up from basic it says includes motorcycle coverage. Hmm. Its a thought.

  10. How far are you going? When I brought mine home it was about 800 miles. I had to pack light and I overpacked the tools. In reality I only needed enough tools to mount the phone mount. Does the bike have its toolkit? If it does you don’t really need much more. One good relay as a spare is all you need. And AAA. This time of year packing the right clothes is way more important than tools.

  11. Although, I must include my dear friend Goofman (TennesseeTuxedo 2008 1200Sport) who had a family commitment, but rode with the midTN Team over halfway, then turned toward home. I have always encouraged every SpineRaider to count their effort even if "circumstances conspired" to keep them from reaching The Lodge. Your stories are just different from others' . . .

  13. Hey Dave, I ended up picking up that 2003 V11 Lemans that I was musing about on WG a while back. While getting info together for a "to do" list on this bike, I stumbled on this thread and recalled you mentioning there may be a deal in the works on the on the Roper plates. Here I am in all my glory as a new forum member, lol. Please add my name to the list for a Roper plate order. Tks to you for taking this on, and to Pete, as always, doing what's right to help us keep these guzzis running well and reliably. Tia Kelly White ps I know it didn't happen if there's no pictures, so fwiw

  16. Yeah, Pete, I'd like one. Never had a lick of flicker from the old Sport, but I like supporting our community and will be proud to display a Genuine MotoModa Roper Plate, on or off the bike . . . (PM sent)
