  2. Hey Scud! Great to hear from you! I’m loving this space, and it’s been awesome to see what other people have going on for the their garage / man cave / moto lair. Mine is modest, but it does the trick. A lot people would consider this place a tear down, but it’s one of the oldest original homes in this area. I’m really glad that I opted for keeping the wood in a cleaned up but raw unpainted original state. It suits the vibe of this funky old school vintage So-Cal home, and it feels great being here and tweaking the “cave”. Will have to look into the epoxy floor paint to take the place up. The Green Muse will have some company soon as it looks like I will be adding a T3 in the next few days. Cheers!

  3. That worked. Thank you Tinknocker. Thank you all for your excellent advice. Now, my high beam, horn, and tachometer don’t work. The fuses are all OK. It’s a mechanical tach, correct? Where should I start to troubleshoot the high beam and horn?

  4. Yes, not perfect but real. Over the last week we have heard so many stories about him, yours adds to it. They say Democracy is not perfect but the other systems are worse, perhaps the same could be said of Monarchy.

  5. Just found this most excellent project and read through it. LOVE IT. The Greenie really pops in that rustic environment with red accents. Somebody mentioned epoxy floor paint in an earlier post. I second that. I have spilled everything on mine and the only thing that did any damage was aircraft paint stripper. I recently saw at a Sherwin Williams store that you can have epoxy paint mixed to any color you want.

  6. Hey Docc, Tks for that info. I had wired in extra grounds from the R/R when I installed that charging system on my CX100, but I haven't done it to any other bike, I'll keep that in mind. I've read you making reference to replacing the fuse with a breaker, not sure if I'm up for that, but I'll definitely read through that link. Tks very much

  7. The source for disconnecting the regulator from the battery being externally charged comes from a US distributor for OEM type DucatiEnergia regulators (EME/EuroMotoElectrics): FWIW, I was always concerned about pulling the 30 amp charging fuse out, and replacing it, since the connections are already tiny and under-rated for the amperage. Same for pulling relays out: too easy to spread the female contacts below and disturb the connections. I feel like I solved this with by replacing the 30 amp Charging/Regulator fuse with a rated circuit breaker. So, yes, easy for me to "disconnect Voltage Regulator/Rectifier from battery" while charging externally. Makes a difference? One can hope . . . One thing for sure, EME has been proven totally correct that "Additional wire ground(s) direct to battery and/or engine are strongly recommended."

  8. To get a wire ring out, use a flat blade screwdriver to push the end DOWN out of the groove 1st. Pushing down is much easier than trying to pry up. Once down, slip a flat feeler gauge under the tip of the wire, then slide the end up using a hook or flat blade. Be ready when it pops out.

  9. He shook my hand once. I was about ten or twelve, it was during a visit to Australia for some occasion or other. I took my own son to see him and the Queen on their last visit here a few years ago. I'm no royalist but it was obviously likely to be the last chance, and there's a real sense of an era ending. RIP. Not a perfect man but definitely a remarkable one.

  10. Today (and yesterday): Proper cleaning Installed a pair of Angel GTs (with my new hitch-mount NoMar tire changer) Flushed clutch fluid and both brakes (I thanked myself for installing speed bleeders a while ago) Cleaned the brake calipers and pistons Changed transmission oil and rear drive Dropped the pan during oil change since it had been sitting idle so long. For entertainment, here is an easy way to bleed the rear caliper (while you have the wheel off).

  15. *Best* relay for the V11 has been the High-Current OMRON G8HE-1C7T-R-DC12 , but out of production and hard to source. [rated 20a N.C./ 35a N.O.] > EDIT/ July 2025: the preferred High Current relay from @Speedfrog: Picker Components PC782-1C-12S-R-X Data Sheet [rated 25 / 30 "resistive"] [ Form A (4-pin) relays can be used in positions #2-#5. Only position #1, front/ Start Relay, requires the Form C (5-pin). ] The prevailing wisdom says: use The Very Best 5-Pin relays in all five positions, . . . carry extras for your riding buddies that didn't get the memo . . .
