  1. Just wanted to give a shout out Thank you for this post, needed it to check my charging system on my newly 03 EV with a glowing charge light. I had great AC voltages through the RPMs, so its regulator time. Placed an order through Electro Sport and it's on it's way!

  2. I'll have a set (5) of the CTI with 1.2 watt coils from DigiKeyUS fairly soon, I hope. They do not have a minimum order and the shipping (US Postal Service) was $4.95US. So, $17US for 5 relays. I'll cut one open and compare to the unobtanium OMRON G8HE internals. I don't have the capabilities that Ryland did to test "bounce" and record data points with an oscilloscope, but will do what inspection, observation, and measuring that can be done. I have examined the Data Sheets of Panasonic, GEI, CTI, and OMRON relays. They are, unfortunately, not produced to a strict standard. OMRON clearly differentiates between "switching" (inrush?) current and "continuous" current ratings. Others do not make this distinction and their relay rating can appear higher than it deserves ("Switching/Inrush" ratings are always higher than "continuous current" ratings). I can also install the CTI 1.2W in my Sport's most demanding Position#5 and take infrared temperature readings. This method has been very revealing as to how much heat a substandard relay will produce. This along with accurately weighing the relay can be helpful compared with observations previously contributed on the "Best Relay" thread.

  5. Ebay sellers are always a moving target, just as the "NLA" OMRON G8HE has become. Get 'em while you can! (If you can.) Good news, our member @p6x has pursued his European connections to find a promising Micro-ISO relay alternative with High Current (30/20) ratings and a promising Data Sheet . . . along with availability and no large minimum quantity orders . . .

  6. @docc My 5 OMRON are on the way for about $46. What's funny, is when I searched for relays here in the USA, I draw a blank. When I searched in EUROPE, using QWANT, I got that hit on the CIT through DigiKey. Alan Romero has kindly proposed to quote; let me see if he wants to send me a free sample. But if the CIT works for our application, at least we have a replacement for the defunct OMRON.

  7. I suppose if anyone is curious enough, they could get the frame number and input it Moto Guzzi's website. That would tell what year and model the frame started in. But I am not that curious. I scrolled through the pics, and almost every one has evidence of something not right. Even the tach was replaced with something that doesn't quite match.

  8. I've tried to imagine what was the objective here and origins of say 2 wrecked/failed bikes combined to make 1 rideable one and I'm at a loss. A blown up Centy with a 2 valve engine makes sense if you had a 2 valve engine but if you had a wrecked Lemans then everything damaged in a wreck would be needed to make this bike. Maybe a V11 Lemans with a blown up gearbox transposed to a Centy with a blown up engine, but why bother changing the forks and front end as there no real upgrade there. Maybe a blown Centy engine replaced by a cheap and available 2 valver and the rest is just a collection of ebay bits. It's wrong to advertise it as a Le Mans though. Ciao

  9. You just can't fit a 5 speed to a 6 speed frame. The offset is wrong and the mounts are different, the swingarm wont work. Lots of stuff. Ciao

  10. It is almost certainly not a 2002. Besides the numerous features already mentioned that are "pre-V11" the frame does not have the V11 "LongFrame" lower braces. The frame build tag would declare the build date of the frame. It very likely has the "exposed spring driveshaft of the earlier Sport, as well. Soooo many mismatches to be seen. "Where's Waldo?" > Every-damn where! <

  11. With Guzzidiag and Tunerpro you can do everything and you don't even need to be smart. Ask me how I know. Ciao

  12. You are correct but I'm not following your point.? A Centauro is a 5 speed. You start with a Centy and bolt the rest to that. My bike is a V11 Sport with a Centauro/Daytona engine so 6 speed, 8 valve V11 Sport. OR you can go the other way and have a 5 speed 8 valve "V11 Sport" starting with a Centauro and adapting the V11 Sport tank and bodywork. Or you can start with a Centauro and fit a 2 valve engine and V11 Sport tank and bodywork and front end. This things a bit of a bastard. Short tank and Lemans bodywork as well. Ciao

  13. I bought a pair of these. And it's 'RACING CABLE"! The CR6 is one meter long. There is also a CR4 at 50cm, but that would be too short. https://www.ebay.com/itm/273921096472?epid=171310303&hash=item3fc6f83b18:g:IIUAAOSwQ8xdI574

  14. Epic thread drift. I promise to report myself to myself. No, really, the front UNI is >approachable< on an early RedFrame. It is. It is.
