  1. Not video, but here is the approach to the front U-joint Zerk from the front using an adjustable angle tip turned 90º (or less): Your only other alternative:

  2. Make sure you index the hose clamps so you can tighten them and loosen them w/o much trouble . It will make it easier the next time.

  3. Moving away from the swing-arm, this just occured to me. Whilst you have the tank off, apart from everything here or perhaps particularly, look at the breather hose that goes from the frame just behind the steering head back to the top of the motor just before the gearbox. Part #18 here https://www.stein-dinse.biz/etkataloge/etkataloge.php?l=de&m=220&t=5394&c=W That hose needs to be replaced periodically, and it is a bit of a pain to get to it. When you have it all apart, particularly on a bike with a "difficult" past like yours, it is not a bad idea to just replace it on spec. Have a good look at it. If in doubt, replace it.

  4. I have found Stein Dinse to be very well stocked, but don't believe the can get "anything". For instance, I tried to order a breather hose for a small-block a couple of months ago. They informed me that the part is produced on demand. I never got it (and wasn't charged for it). It was ordered with a bunch of other stuff, which all arrived as promised, but the hose never did. I didn't follow it up, because I got one from somewhere else. Whatever, I would suggest contacting them directly for anything that they list as "not in stock" and try and find out what the real story is with delivery. I'm generally happy with them, but have had a couple of instances where it seemed that things can get lost in the paperwork. Big company with not quite enough people doing the work, I think.

  5. the first four points are good. The rear wheel bearings wear out from the wrong spacer because roller bearings cannot tolerate side loads . AFA greasing the front joint on a red frame still in the bike ? Post a Youtube video along w/the adapter .I wanna see it ! The battery ground to engine , you can use Caig De-oxit , Vaseline , grease or whatever you want along w/one or more shakeproof washers to verify a good ground . If this bike is gonna be down a little while , have someone make a larger diameter cable . These factory cables are Mickey Mouse as it is.

  6. i did carry-on there quite a bit on that last post :-> A shorter version of an answer is that yes, complacency kills, and I preach at every new hire class and every annual recurrent that “if you’re too nervous when you fly (and preparing to fly) then you’re probably in the wrong job, and if you’re not nervous at all when you fly, then you're definitely in the wrong job”.

  7. Gentlemen, thank you. The old Coats 220 gave me a bit of a workout removing the rear tire. I'll get the front tire m&b then back on forks so i can get the weight off center stand and then i can proceed further dismantling on the rear end of this old gal.

  8. I found sad that MV Agusta's official message was to put the emphasis on being separated from KTM and their financial liability. They should have also stated that under Pierer Mobility, they had one of their best year in 2024, sales and dealerships, parts availability. Sardarov has so far not done that much for them, compared to the short-lived KTM lead. All we heard from Art of Mobility is "good intentions", but I suspect the "good intentions" will stop short of spending too much. It is clear that KTM did not spare expenses to clear the backlog of parts needed to support all their models. As far as I know, this always was one of the main complaint from the owners. Spares scarcity. When I was living in Europe, I had developed a crush on the Brutale, but I was never comfortable with the brand.

  9. I think you're dreaming and they are exaggerating. Some stuff maybe "anything" no. And what they can get re made will need to be in quantities. It's why places like HMB manufacture aftermarket replacement parts. Phil

  10. Reading all that, I felt an echo regarding my job. OK, when I get something wrong, nobody dies. But it (sound engineer, i.e. the bloke at the desk in the middle of the auditorium) is a "high stress" job. When it goes wrong, everyone in the audience looks at you, and the client wants to know what you did wrong. So the same things apply: if you're going to do the job, know that you can do it, and make sure your really can do it. Be relaxed and confident, and never lose your concentration.

  11. I used a laser for that purpose and found the swingarm within thousandths of being centered in the Frame Side Plates. I would, now, put hat offset down to method accuracy limitations. One South'n Spine Raid, we measured the offset of all the SpineFrames present (six or eight, I suppose) and found the settings all over the place. I settled on "centered" with the pins backed of just a touch from bottoming so as to not deflect the bearings laterally. YMMV

  12. Well , it involves fluorescent light bulbs string and some imagination . I got my two bikes tracking ( the rear wheel in the same track as the front) perfect after dismantling the swingarm . I will have to remember what I did and how . It sounds Rube Goldberg but after the epiphany it gets easy .

  13. For now back off the large nut one revolution , Remove the "bolt and leave the r.h. stuff on the r.h. side and the same for the left side. There is a procedure to get the rear wheel track in the center of the front. When you get it together , we will discuss it .

  14. I suspect Sardarov bought it back for less then he sold it. This often happens with business acquisitions that aren't done well. It's a shame too, because I liked the brands that were coming together under Pierer Group. Someday I might have an MV Agusta. I seriously considered getting a Superveloce S about a year ago. I'll be watching closely...

  15. Since you're in this deep, it's a good time pull the swingarm, which will make it even easier to install the above bleeder hose. Be sure to carefully inspect the shock mounts. Many of us have found cracks in the lower shock mount. Even if it's not cracked, upgrading that shock will make a big difference in handling - if that's in scope/budget for this project.
