  1. OK well, I finally got a chance to sit down with the computer. First I'd like to say hats off to Doc For everything that he does.(BIG hug My friend} Gus and I had a fantastic time this year At the SSR. It was great to see and talk to everyone that showed up Including Kevin, A fellow Michigander Who Rode his O2 V11 Le Mans All the way down.(Kudos) Gus and I trailered ours. Because it's just too much saddle time And so Few days. My older son Josh, came up from Atlanta And met us at the lodge On Friday, early Afternoon. We all spent the rest of the day and evening. Behind Hardy 's.at the. large field, Where we flew RC gliders. Josh. also spent Friday night, Which gave us a chance to mingle in the garage, and then at the pavilion, were everyone all told stories and shot the breeze. Gus and I managed to ride 180 miles on Saturday, even though it was a little damp at the higher elevations Up in the Appalachian Mountains. We ended up with a cruise through the dragon's tail and stopped a few time for some pics, which I'll try to post. All in all it was a great time with friends and fellow riders And already looking forward to next year. Everyone stay healthy and ride safe! SKIP
  2. Perfect riding weather
  3. Well, a lot of things had to align before I could commit to the RAID. But alas all have come together so Gus with his 07 Norge and my 02 LeMans will make the drive down. Will also bring Guzzi Diag with related gadgets and gismos. Looking forward to good times and good riding ! See Y'all there, SKIP
  4. SLICK for SURE !!!
  5. Say Grant, isn't that the coolest thing about motorcycles, that they all have their own personalities no matter what it might be.
  6. Hey Phil I also have a Ducati Super Sport, so it's tough to decide which one to ride. Both the Super Sport and Le Mans beckon me like alluring sirens.
  7. Hey Grant, Good to have you on board. V11s talk to you quite nicely especially under load and gradually rowing through the gears. The engine the gearbox the clutch and the drivetrain all tell you what's going on, You just have to listen and appreciate. And yes snow here today also, 2 inches. Just waiting for a good rain to wash away the salt and the sand to get out the mighty LeMans.
  8. I remember in 69 and 70 While still in high school I worked at a Standard Oil service station I thought I was the cats meow with my own uniform and Embroidered name on the shirt. We would always hurry out and pump the gas clean the windshield Check the oil Yes those were the days of yore.
  9. Opps, I stand corrected . Still, it looks Yeller.
  10. Boy those spines are good looking bikes
  11. You have a true Cafe Racer there Josh, and it runs and sounds great.
  12. Hey there Doc and all the other SSR-20 participant's , I finally got a chance to sit down at my computer and check in. I had an absolutely wonderful time hanging around with all of you, eating, drinking, a tech session, and even some time riding the Skyway and the Tale. Also had a chance to spend Friday with my son Joshua who came up from Atlanta just for the day. We took to the plains right behind Hardies and flew RC gliders and FPV drones. The reason it took so long to check in is that I decided to take a side trip to Rachelle, Illinois to watch the Union Pacific 4014 BIG BOY steam locomotive arrive and depart the old town railroad station. (and yes it is HUGE) Whistle blowing, steam hissing, black coal smoke belching, and all other kinds of mechanical noises, it was truly a site to witness. Hope everybody had a great time at the SSR-20, I'm sure you all did. I'll keep my fingers crossed in hope for next years RADE-21. Cheers to ALL SKIP
  13. Hope you can, I like that Yellow 1100 Sport.
  14. "Doc knows stuff" and his buddy Josh. Hope he's going to be there also.
  15. Hey there All, I am getting things together for the XX gathering. This morning I connected the 02 Lemans to my laptop and ran DIAG to make sure every thing was up to spects. Installed a freshened up set of iridium side gaped spark plugs. Changed the brake, clutch and trans fluids, also checked engine oil that was just changed not so long ago. I believe that I am good to go, keeping my fingers crossed. Am bringing the lap top, all cables, charger, manometer, fan, spare 02 Scura ECU, and misc.(possible Test & Tune event) I had two others ditch on me (won't say who), so coming solo this time but that's ok because I know I'll be in good company. See all of you then. SKIP
  16. I always thought that the action of moving the master cylinder piston was always more desirable to agitate any lodged air pockets. IMO And yes very repetitive, but then I again I always just use a clump of rags.
  17. I have an 02 LeMans that had angle drive, but converted to cable drive only. Straitened out some of the metal tube curve and rerouted the cable. It comes real close to the throttle rod and doesn't touch. Has been real smooth for 8K miles.
  18. Oh, that's good Gene. I love the Arte Johnson comparison. I could just picture it. FLOP So sad that happened to you right during prime riding, and I know you were just getting back into things. Hope you will be good to go for the Spine Raid. I'm rooting for ya !!!
  19. A great cause and worthy of a ride. Just looked up my Traverse City group at @ 21 strong and think I'm going to join.
  20. When the curve ahead turns into a hairpin and the road turns back against itself, then you know your having a good time !!!
  21. Say Doc, What color is the light weight? I switched from Lucas 80-90 to Red Line V-Twin Shock Proof (RED) and noticed a significant improvement in the smoothness of shifting. What's your input on the light weight?
