  1. I wish others had weighed in on this thread.

I've now ridden enough miles that I believe I'll need to upgrade to find an acceptable "bounce". On the road, these dialed in OEM forks seems find, but when hitting any pothole, speedbump, etc at slow speed or fast, they hit far too hard. I suspect I'm not adjusting these correct, but I really tried and this is the best I've found.

I've read some reviews from GuzziTech Store and found others stating stock forks reacting the same as mine. Maybe I need to spend some money and find a set of springs. Please recommend any cost effective choices.

Lastly, I'll mention the wallowing around corners. If I'm riding aggressive through a turn, it does not feel stable. I suspected SAG, but after my settings, I seem to have run out of adjustment. I find this hard to believe since I'm only 165 pounds, a bit more with gear. Maybe the stock rear spring is built for a lighter guy. Your thoughts are appreciated.

  2. Having now ridden well over 1,000 miles on my bike since acquiring it, but still have yet to set the TPS. I'm wondering what will be different once completed.

The bike starts and idles appropriately, even my mpg is acceptable. My only fueling complaint is harshness of throttle. Once a gear is selected and I open the clutch, it grabs too harsh. To avoid this, I sometimes go up two gears then open the clutch.

  3. After searching for resistors to purchase, I discovered my LEDs, already have built in resistors. So, either they are not enough resistance or it's something else that keeps the right signal from flashing the dash.

As for the low fuel light, I'll have to get the ohm meter out and see what's up.

  4. I haven't been tracking this thread but noticed so much activity, and possible problems noted. I copied my post from last December on a lithium I've been running.  It's been perfect, no problems, very satisfied. I haven't trickled charged it once, granted I ride at least every two weeks or so.

    YTZ14S Z14S Lithium Ion 12v Battery, 1.98lbs, CCA 300, $122.

I currently am using this on my 2003. Note: the height of this battery is only 3.4", thus it can be mounted upright, accounting for the positive terminal being on the left, as opposed to the OEM being on the right.

Update: this battery has been working perfect, not a single problem. Since this purchase however I ordered a NOCO lithium for my KLX250 and was more impressed than I ever have been with any lithium brand. In the future, I plan to stick with NOCO.

We removed the steering damper on the wife's V11 many years ago, after the original failed. She found she preferred the light steering and increased feedback it had without a steering damper, so we never replaced it. It is free to try it without and see how you like it (or don't like it).

Her V11 is an early red frame V11, but it does have suspension improvements in the form of a better shock and mods to the front forks to give them better dampening and control.

can you explain the fork mods please?

  6. Even some of you will be disappointed in me, but I had to share this with someone that could understand. Having now put over a 1,000 miles on my V11, I've grown much more used to  the bike. On my 25 mile all freeway commute yesterday, I passed a few cars and was enjoying all of our roll-on acceleration. When I looked down at my speedo, I was surprised to see it damn near the end of measurement! I was doing 130mph! The crazy thing is, the bike was still pulling so hard, I really didn't think I was going that fast. I've wondered what top speed is but now I know the stock speedo won't be able to report whatever that is. Boy, that felt good!

  7. I leave mine open and it seems all is well, however should anything go wrong, we have no choice for replacement. I've also removed my tank far too many times for any number of reasons and even if I close my OEM petcock, it still flows.

    My final answer, yes.

  8. @PJPR01 I converted all of mine to LEDS, and you are correct, I can't get the right signal to flash on the panel. I didn't know this was common, I kept checking everything over and over and finally gave up. I guess I'll swap that bulb back the next time I'm in there. Thanks for sharing this knowledge.

This may be what @audiomick is onto as well. Maybe the resistance isn't enough. At least now I know when I hit 200 miles, I only have about 20 or so left in the tank.
