  1. classic..where would I be without you earthing it down for me. I have to be content with a V50 III at the moment, and you know what... I am ... although it is in my top floor aprtment at the moment (have to do something about that, makes riding harder than usual) But...I think you REALLY appreciate how special that bike is to you know...and that's a good thing. BTW I see THAT bloke on the Ambassador alot these days, just love those wide handlebars & the way he just rolls it on through town. When the V50 is back on the road , may have to take to the Robertson pie shop & bring you some lunch.
  2. no I am not crying it was the lights! Simple Minds LIVE they still got it. Perth.sampledminds.com
  3. ORANGE > RED > GREY > YELLOW > WHITE > GREEN > BLACK > BROWN
  4. I don't know how you could compare... One is sex on wheels the other is wheels so you can go & get some sex
  5. THAT is a fantastic motorcycling post. thank you! not_scooter_Scura!
  6. sometimes you need to go thorugh many bikes till you get to Guzzidom. some say, that if you ride long enough you end up with a Guzzi along the way. I am proud to say that just today, my friend (after riding a V50 III) has his first bike as a Guzzi. His perception of things will be altered now for always , but I kind of envied him that he fell in love with a Guzzi as the very first bike.
  7. Amazing fuel injection, one of those bikes that can run with the best & then cruise around smoothly as well. The 999 more so than the 916 etc. But it still really is a track bike registered for the road (personally I kinda like that) but a l o n g demo ride would be recommenended. & a brief after you have done that. n_s_S!
  8. well ONE is here: www.deusexmachina.com.au complete with brandy bottle cork & and all. n_s_S!
  9. HEY! I loved WFI, and I HATE romantic comedies .... but I kinda like barbie
  10. over 250,000 Kms on a V50III been round the 'block' twice in my (& my friend's) keeping. (some 12 years) replaced clutch twice, shaft drive once , rings once, main seal & valve stem seals. That's about it engine wise. still going.... looks like it's been through a war (hey they did have them in military trim right)... so restoration coming up in a month or so. V50man II ?
  11. or as the saying goes "if you love something glue it properly, if it ends up on your lawn it's yours, if it ends up in the lawn mower you may have to re sharpen the blades" or something like that actually I think the V11 is saying "ride me more!...forget that bolt thing for a while..." n_s_S!
  12. Nogbad = bad! Go to your (favourite) corner now mister!!
  13. >My Guzzi corner speeds were way up and a 1/4" has come off my "chicken strips". Inexplicable. Of course the V11 is broken in fully, and so my desire for full throttle could be taken care of YES! exactly....it took me till riding my KTM fast before I could appreciate riding the Scura faaast. > The Guzzi engine is not the "lugger" some people make it out to be. There is a distinct and almost stinkwheel like power band between 5000 and 7000 rpm that is manic and satisfying. no, not the lugger at all, viceral, spritely, charming...but never 'chug-a-lug'... >The two bikes couldn't be more different or in their own way more unusual. One is not better than the other, and each has its strengths and weaknesses. OK, but the V11 IS my weakness, bella. >...WORST feature of the Guzzi is the gearbox. Maybe mine needs attention, but when warm the lever sticks going down the 'box until you let the clutch back out, and there is the matter of the false neutral. I dunno, I have to say, my 'box (err gearbox that is) is very slick, if you have the time & money please get it looked at... I nevre have false neutrals, or 'sticky' gear lever action, lucky or low miles perhaps , but shows that it can be precise & satisfying, maybe more to do with light Scura clutch... >Anyway, it was a great ride out, and confirms my continuing intention to keep both bikes. After all, you don't give up fine wine just because you like to drink beer. yes, yes & yes, keep 'em, ride 'em...let's face it, both bikes will still be doing what they are doing for you today long into the next decade. Thanks for the comparo...written by a true motorcyclist at heart, & that is what it's all about to me. good stuff
  14. "you can't handle an 1100 Lov, oh...look here.... they come in 850 as well!"
  15. that Nolan may have been polished & then had stickers placedfor the design from the factory. I know that some Polys can get away with Acrylic with an Acrylic clear over the top... BUT enamel out of a can is a no no no... it would be is safe as on your head. n_s_S!
  16. V50 Milataire Edition ? hey don't be too hard on the small block, my mate's V50III has outlasted everyhting I know. n_s_S!
  17. I do rate the MV, THST engine...go to raptorsandrockets.com for the onbaord video (oh that engine!) but the Griso.....ahh.....the Griso...........
  18. would like to know, - the highs - the lows - the things you would change straight away - the things to look out for - consideration compared to an 1100Sport (better, worse, different) what parts are interchangeable, Sport Fairing? V11 Bodywork? worth considering for a base platform cafe racer project? conversion to psuedo SuperTwin? (did someone say 'Zagato' ?!) It is my original dream bike (but a 15 year old dream...well....) Hope you can help, might be buying one unless you convince me otherwise... with thanks, n_s_S!
  19. cool! but was'nt it 'Aphex Twin' ? I thought that was the whole point of the term.... but yeah a little inspired by his later albums. I wonder songs the Guzzi would inspire me to write.
  20. Charley Boorman, actor - son of John Boorman (director of 'Excalibur' - the movie). Seems quite grounded, although his little spat at KTM is just a joke & he deserves a bitch slap for overacting... but the journey is still inspirational. Is'nt it always...
  21. I'll be in on that! today I stopped being an unemployed web-designer, & became an unemployed actor - I love it more already!
  22. It's Troy vs. Troy mate vs. mate state vs. state (err well actually it's not, but they pay different council rates.....in Monaco )
  23. 750S3 if you cant find one...or a T3 makes an ideal base to roll your own.
