  1. good point on loss of pressure thru leaky clamp// But have you tried starting w/throttle open 1/4 turn? I have to give throttle for a quick start.
  2. Sorry but this thing needs flaming. mine was fun for about a day, then I put the EV1100 motor to better use in an Convert dressed as an SP.
  3. that thing is plain and pure UGLY!
  4. I once had a BMW with a piant that looked black far away but up close it was a dark rootbeer color with gold metal flake, that was cool paint, I think they called it Bronco or something. it had gold pinstriping but red would look good too.
  5. the bubbleing paint was the big issue with that year. the motor is de-tuned compared to the V11S. does it have a single plate clutch? they have had problems, some got re-fitted with the old dual plate set up. I forget what year that was. the big problem? If he gets a flat tire he will have to remove the wheel then the TUBE, patch it and re-mount everything.. If he can find a used EV it would have tubeless rims thus he could plug it on the bike, fill and go!
  6. here's one link, http://www.guzzitech.com/FuelFiltAlt.html also mgcycle.com has a nice on line catalog.
  7. can you bring the needle back to neutral with a little turn of the balance knob for butterfly sync? with the control arm conected. I think it's the white thumb screw knob I'm thinking of.
  8. I almost lost my beloved Honda Trail 90 when the bearing cored out and nearly fell off.
  9. are your header pipes rattling against something or is the cross over broken?
  10. here's a thread I can relate to.
  11. Ok I froze my hands and feet in a rainstorm at 45 degrees F on the way home BUT I STILL LOVE IT!
  12. or better yet put the exhaust out the bottom like a Buell.
  13. check your ground strap at the battery and frame. if its to the frame but not bolted to the engine maybe it should be. that wire should be heavy duty.
  14. it's not your kill switch is it?
  15. theres nothing special about the relays other than they are 4 or 5 pin type.. take it out and bring it to an auto parts store and match one up. thats what I tihnk anyhow.. or order a set for about 20 bucks from Pyro Dan at dpguzzi.com
  16. I'm touring on mine right now... Love it but in 40 degree temps in the morning I miss the Bassa with touring w/s and heated grips. I wouldn't trade back for anything. My Lemans is the most reliable of all the Guzzi's I've owned and the best handling. w/bar risers I can ride all day, it fits me well at 5'10"
  17. you've got ambition but its misplaced. put the starter back on and take off the battery, replace with new Oddessey, ride trouble free for several more years.
  18. how about "roll over Bethoven" by Chuck Berry... or "Poor House" by George Harrison. I need an answer when you get it, it's driving me crazy!
  19. just cause you have headlight doesn't mean the battery has enough power to start it. how old is the battery. check the voltage, a good battery will show at least 12.50. If it is less leave the meter on and turn on the key, did it drop into the 11.xx volt range? if so you need a battery.
  20. battery connections, relays, fuse?

    spark battery

  22. that is brilliant! did you guys notice the sidecar frame holds the front wheel? ever seen another one? should be proud he chose a guzzi for that design! Not sayin I'd do it to my LeMans mind you.
  23. my stock Lemans does exactly the same thing only at 4200rpm... when cruising steady it has a cough/stumble always right there at 4200.. I have changed the TPS and synched etc but it's still there. I hope to get the VDST software sometime in hopes that will help me solve it. do you have stock crossover? someone told me the aftermarket crossover brings the stumble down to 3k rpm, don't know if thats a fact or not.
  24. if the oil or air temp sensor thinks it's really cold wouldn't the computer spray more fuel into the mix? and that would stall it out when ya turn the throttle open? could explain why it idles nice w/a tps reading of 270? OR, after setting the idle stop screws, did you just stick the link rod back on or did you "set" that too. if you just hooked it up maybe it opened one of the butterflies slightly?
