  1. is the TPS the same in a EV as my Lemans? can I replace it with a Harley Davidson TPS #27271-95 ?
  2. TAKE THE OLD ONE TO NAPA or an auto parts store, better yet a bearing house... then # might be 6204? fully sealed. you should be able to tap it out w/out special tools but don't bugger up the spacer w/your hammer. use some wood, same on putting the new one in. I'm not a mechanic tho I play one in my garage.
  3. Before you get into the power comander etc, I would set the TPS values and sync throttle bodies.. it may be all you need.. at least to get clean balanced ignition. heres a link to the procedure, its not very hard to do. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12204 http://www.guzzitech.com/TPS-SetBal-JMickowski.html
  4. theres an idea I haven't thought about yet... my other friends think I'd want an auto in the Lemans but oh no, she loves to rev above 5k too much.
  5. it is on the low fuel sender, but the pressure reg is the same as a fuel tap so if you returned the fuel in another way it would work... through the filler cap? some EV's have a pressure regulator that has a hose output instead of screw to tank fitting. I used one of these and added a spigot near the top of a steel convert tank for a fuel return... so you could connect both sides of the tank if you had a return hose elsewhere... am I making sense? I did this to run an EV motor in a convert.... I made the tank like an EV tank.. also modded the frame to be the oil breather like an EV.
  6. thats a standard Convert dash, big speedo no tach... Its no ordinary Convert tho... I have a 98 EV 1100 motor and all life systems with the vert frame and AUTO tranny! its like riding a magic carpet!
  7. seems to me if theres spark and gas there should be fire... could you have a bad connection where the plug cap screws into the HT lead from the coil? is it seated into the coil well?
  8. its all over the poor beast, I dont think any of the fasteners have been turned since 2002.. thats OK it only has 7800 miles and looking good knock on wood. I havn't stripped anything yet. the axles were on TIGHT! got new tires but need to source wheel bearings on sunday, might not get to ride yet.
  9. I had good luck with an aftermarket reg from Electrex on my Bassa... got it from Denniskirk.com same as a Ducati Monster... and yes the ducati regulator is stock on Guzzi.
  10. how do you get the bar end caps off? I took out the bolt but they are stuck in there.
  11. agreed, there are some tiny LED signals up next to the fairing I will replace. Did I hear Beull has replacements for 1/3rd the price? Oil looks good actually but I am wondering if it got a 6k maintenance? 7800 now... rear tire must have been change once (it has some tread) but it looks like the front was never off... the throttle bodies apear to have been tuned as the yellow crust has been disturbed. I plan to do a full service before riding, starting w/the tires.
  12. well thats encouraging! I rode it tonite but the tire is so wacky i couldn't tell how well t he fork works etc.. I think I'll do the trade tomorrow morning. heres my pics i don't think the front wheel has ever been off.
  13. heres Carl Allisons schematic for the V11 sport probably pretty close to what yours looks like? http://www.guzzitech.com/guzzi007/schemati...9_V11_sport.gif
  14. heres the bike I'm looking at getting... http://gallery.halfront.com/Guzzi/DSC01354?full=1 check out the wear on the front tire, ITS WORN MORE ON THE LEFT SIDE (when on bike) than the right, whats up w/that? I plan to try to measure the alignment of fr&r wheels before making the deal. the tires might be original as the bike has a little over 7k miles. maybe they are just really worn and that happens? I need quick answer, looking at the bike tonight. thanks, Brad
  15. ok I did search and the diablo stradas seem to win but I'd like to hear more about the Pirelli Scorpion Sync, does gravel well? and durring the search you all talk about going to the 170 rear from the 180 but the specs I saw gave the 170 as stock rear. whats the best size? thx
  16. I might trade my Bassa for a 02 Lemans this weekend! he's riding up from Chicago on some pretty worn tires... I tried the search cause I don't intend to come hear and start a bunch of tire and oil threads BUT, what are the best tires on this bike? and what else should I specifically watch out for? I know about the engine paint. I am aware of the changes made to the 03-04 models but this is what I have a chance at. welcome your thoughts ... I might be looking for some HB bags mounts, anyone? thx, Brad
  17. I'm pretty sure you need a new battery. these bikes must have 12.5 volts to work right. do you have another one you could swap in and try?
  18. check your battery , you need a good 12.5 volts... my reasoning is the tach failing first. have you had it load tested?
  19. thats really too bad, I wanted to go.
  20. took a corner, side swiped a truck, crossed my fingers just for luck.
  21. In Minneapolis the weather is unbelievably warm, it's been in the 20-30F range for the whole month of January. very pleasant to not have to pay for heat when its usually well below zero in Jan. AND I've ridden twice this winter already!
  22. heres my list 1, V11 Lemans Nero Corsa 2, Daytona 3, Centauro 4, Bassa 5, Convert 6, Early Lemans 7, Disc brake Eldo 8, V7 sport 9, Normale 10, KTM Duke
