    gas lines

Leon...cant help re the gas lines. But, the "gasket" is a big sturdy plug of a thing which wont need replacing. And re the filter, as I recall from a previous "search" on this forum youre a little early on the replacement. Good luck!
  5. and best New Year's wishes from Central California...
  6. I've seen pictures of Mr. Fields. Aint no way I'm sittin' on his lap! ( unless he really is Santa Claus). Merry Christmas to All. And to All a Happy New Year.
  7. Joe...some very nice photos there. Glad I dont have to do the pruning!
  8. Your local vinyl graphics store should be able to supply you with some fairly thick, mild adhesion vinyl to apply to strategic body panels. Or Mr. Savage's advice sounds practical. As does lavrgs. I'm not usually so adament.
  9. Anyone remember this childhood ditty? "There's a place in France Where the ladies do a dance. And the dance they do Costs a dollar fifty-two. Cause when they turn around, Their panties all fall down!" Never been to France, but I've always wanted to...ever since my childhood

  11. Hi Boingo.... Welcome aboard! I did manage to plastic weld the tank and was pretty confident (actually very confident) of the weld until I read your post. I dremelled a V shaped cut (about 2/3 of the way through the tank) along the crack and filled it in with the welding material. I then melted the adjacent tank plastic and mixed the two. Then I covered everything up with another layer of the welding rod. Although it looked effectively done it looked kinda crude but it was not visible anyway. Then my paint guy prepped it and the whole tank was repainted. I've checked it often figuring that the slightest leak would "blister" the overlaying paint. But it gives no indication of any problem. I hope I'm right. Never the less I'll double my vigilance. PS Love Seattle. I was there last year for my daughter's wedding.

    Stelvio

If I'm capable of a plan, that will be it In the meantime, guess I'll have to wait awhile untill the 800GS and the Stelvio are available (in the flesh) for test rides...

    Stelvio

As I'm nearing retirement I'm looking at several "adventure" type bikes. So in my case, the Stelvio will be compared to BMW F800GS KTM 990 Adventure BMW R1200GS Any speculative comments or suggestions?
  17. Another clip-on option might be CycleCats. They are three way adjustable and very nicely made. I dont think they have one specific to the Guzzi, but they are very customer oriented and 3 years ago "guided" me to a set for my 01 Sport. Feel free (on my account) to ask them to look up my purchase records for details, but since I've order several sets, make sure you specify the Guzzi. The unique feature of these is their adjustability, particularly the rotational orb of the bar-ends. http://www.ideanamics.com/BR1-1.htm
  18. Joe...VERY nice cans. Hoe much did you have to expand them to fit the x-over?
  19. These are two of the older style tailpieces for the early V11 Sports. They the "solid" style which fit pre-03(?) Sports. These are the type with the brace that runs crosswise at about the rear edge of the seat, just below where the seat latch mechanism mounts. They are NOT the newer style, flexible, hollow, shell style. Both are in VGC, with just a very minor scuff on each. $60 each, or both for $100. Plus shipping from Modesto CA 95350.
  20. LMAO That damn well sums it up!
  21. Ratchethack... thanks for the sobering reminders of what great men have had to say to their generations. It bears repeating and remembrance.
  22. Some Americans, including several of our own forum members ARE doing something about it. As I recall, there are forum members on active duty, in harm's way, supporting this great nation. Bravo for them! Undoubtedly there are other forum members serving valiently in their own country's armed forces doing the dirty "police work" that some are so quick to criticize. Others of us quietly support the Bush Administration's war on terror and urge others to do so. Not all Americans (despite what some American posters here may advocate) are apologists for America. Despite America's flaws we still believe the United States to be the gold standard of freedom in the world.
  23. Hmmmm. Don't Australian women have.... well you know...nipples?
