Look at the post in that battery conditioning thread. There are some important steps to take charging an Odyssey, which are often delivered at 50% state of charge (that's like 12.5 volts). "Trickle" charger won't cut it. Use a minimum of 6 amps until the battery reaches 14.7 v (not over 15.0v). Sounds like you would want to invest in a quality digital meter that will read accurately to 0.01v. So, otherwise, you very likely have a series of "contributors" to your issue. In the short space of four hours, you have plenty of homework already!

Fluid choice is fine. Check the date code on the tires. It is 4 numerals molded in after "DOT" = week/month of production. Ten year old tires? I would absolutely NOT trust them . . .

Here's a post by Scud in his thread "Brand-new Scura" : https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/18805-brand-new-scura/&do=findComment&comment=214405 -
A digital reading of 12.84v is 100%, 12.0 would be pretty much ded, mon. Do your lights come on? The horn blows?

Put a voltmeter on the battery without the key on . . . What make relays are in it now? But, yes, a full set of High Current Omron is in order. (Thanks on the pics. Hosted on imgzeit.)

Sounds like Relay failure, but she'll love you back for some extra attention to the charging system. In addition to High Current Relays and conditioning the battery, inspect the 30 amp (green) fuse for signs of heat damage, be sure there is a ground strap from the regulator to the engine, and that the battery terminals are clean and tight. Same goes for the main ground to the back of the gearbox behind the seat latch . . .

Hi, Tim! Welcome to the best place in the Universe for care&feeding of a V11! No tach + no charging = Relay #2 (from the front). You can try swapping the relays around and using some contact cleaner on the connections, but swapping in a full set of "Best relays" is highly recommended. Best Relay Also, what battery did you install? Even a new Hawker Odyssey PC545 (OEM) benefits from "conditioning." (Think: charging with a particular method): Conditioning the PC545

Remember, y'all: "garage space" is extra, but we can put two or three Guzzi in one of those spaces.

" . . . or whatever that small bulb is called? " The small 4 watt bulb in the headlamp bucket id the "city or parking light." Comes on with the tail light, instrument light circuit with no relay, and the ignition switch Park position with the steering locked. "Euro" switchgear allows for the Hi-Lo beams to be turned off (in the "city") while the tail/ 4 watt lamp and instrument lighting stays on. Not sue who else got that left hand switchgear, but not the US.

Official capacity is 5.8 US gallons, as I recall. I’ve never been able to fill more than 5.2. Looks like your station’s pump could use a calibration...

Just what do "telescoping gauges" look like? Never know when I might get the opportunity to "measure hole ID's" . . . I just wanna be ready if the circumstance pops up . . . -
Probably a good time for a South'n SpineRaid roll call . . . No reason to plan "TechSessions", they typically present themselves a capella ("in the chapel"), but could arise: allegro, vivace, or even > PRESTO < !!

Loosening oil filter = use quality filters (no early UFI !) and tighten 1 1/8 (one full turn plus one-eighth) turns past oiled gasket contact. The WIX have not failed me, tightened to that derived spec. (Much tighter than my intuition meter would have suggested . . .)

Gotcha. A noble venture to resurrect a fine champagne V11LeMans! For parts, I am dancing between MGCycle/ Wisconsin, Harpermoto/Missouri, and AF1Racing/AustinTX There are also a few V11 being broken here in the Classifieds and more on ebay . . . We're wit'cha, bud!

We forum veterans have to pull together to reduce every alibi Al could invoke to miss another Sputh'n Spine Raid . . . It's just "over the hill", buddy! -
I am so busted by my best buds. So . . . I am down to this emoji?

doslemans reminded me to score a room at TheLodgeatTellico since we're three months out from the Fifteenth South'n Spine Raid. An act of hope and confidence on my part while the Sport sits on the lift waiting for parts from Italy. And Missouri. and California . . .

[sign216, I noticed many of your early images in this thread need to be restored . . . > edit: so, lots of images to restore if you various posters would be so kind . . . In the process, I rediscovered how breathtaking this guy's work is: CarbonArt Motorcycle Lifestyle -
Wow, Nitzge, only now that I got a closer look at your Gallery images do I see that you pulled the pistons and cylinders off! (At least the right side). How many miles on this V11 and what are you finding?
