    Remove gear box.

Here is a brief tutorial on Crabbing the Spine Frame. It can be done! Measure your swingarm offset BEFORE you remove the pins. (don't ask me how I know . . .
  2. Love the last line in the article; could be Moto Guzzi's tag line: "Stay Tuned . . ."
  3. Great price for an RC!
  4. xroads, Not to take anything away from the guys who have had good results from the PC, and now the excellent work Paul has given us, but there are those among us who have had very good results with the V11's factory tuning parameters. For me, it took a few "tune-ups" to get the results. If you can dope F-class you can tune your Guzzi. Once you've mastered the factory settings and you are still not satisfied, there are these other options which many here will continue to help with. (ie: when you're not grouping, the answer is probably not changing optics.)
  5. HA, zman, I'll bet that cafe sport sounds pretty good on the acoustics of that hardwood floor!
  6. It would be good to recheck the temp after the bike has been moving or with a fan flowing air over it. The snorkels will pick up engine heat in still air. Perhaps checking the variable resistance of the TPS. When mine went bad I couldn't find it watching millivolts, but it showed a stick-and-jump in resistance as I slowly opened it and closed it.
  7. I replaced mine with a Japanese made Shindi sourced from MI in Seattle.
  8. Is there not an O-ring for that junction? is it both injectors?
  9. I would venture that the veranda at Walt's cabins in the Appalachians would be a fine place to carry on an interesting discussion on those (complex) topics. But probably not here, if I may politely suggest. But, ya'll come now, y'hear?
  10. 'dog, How would you describe the changes with the crossover?
  11. others have more experience with this than I, but at least sweep the bottom of the gearbox for bits. Use a quality sealant on the cover going back on clean the neutral switch while you're looking at it. Otherwise, this should be really straight-forward. Best of luck!
  12. Must agree with mznyc: the pre-selector adjustment doesn't seem to have solved any major issues. Mine ended up with a complete gearbox replacement under warranty. Not long after, the early gearboxes were recalled for several corrections including the "sliding dogs" and the "washer stack" or, what was it called . . . "cush drive?" (not to be confused with the cush drive of the rear bevel drive). You will need to verify the recall work has been performed on your gearbox.
  13. Walt (The Lodge at Tellico) says there are 8 rooms available for the 13-14 of September. Bill and I have two of them. Best to let him know if you're on for the lodging!
  14. So, the rubber down-snorkels aren't just to reduce noise for emissions testing?
  15. Other than painting the needles, what did "going through them" entail? The silly polymeric odometer drive gears are problematic as well as induction magnet adhesion . . .
  16. I was thinking there are some alternatives from Ducati, maybe Bosch? Easier for us nekked bikers - no need to fit into a fairing . . .
  17. I learned Wayne's campout is the same dates. Great guy (Wayne), and excellent that T.W.O. is booting back up. Maybe we'll cross paths! As far as any conflict with Barber's Vintage Festival - I can't imagine anything compares. Maybe the Manx TT . . .
  18. Whoa , Wil-H rides with the Slimey Cruds. . . . And rides with the Biscuiteers of the Splinter Fringe ? He's like Wile E. Coyote and Hunter S. Thompson all rolled up into one!
  19. Sounds great! We usually make the store there at the crossroads late morning for anyone who wants to roll it, and make our way down NC 28 (fantastic!) for lunch at the Sunset in Franklin. Looking forward to seeing (hearing!) Joe's V7!
  20. Good news! Silver ones must be worth, like, $11,900 . . . Really, good for you and the new owner who has a very nice V11. Hope they know to log-on here!
  21. I suppose that makes me one of the Old Timers that knows Al Let me be the first to say what a bad idea this is. Noble, sure, but - bad. Your college kid can do some simple work study hours that would benefit her esteem, pay tuition, and preserve the Guzzi for that Golden Later Time. (Maybe the tall talk is easier with boys in college ) Best of luck to you, Al!
  22. Here in the States, it appears to be only the "unbranded" stations that have pure gasoline.
  23. But the Three Hondas are, apparently, only counted as one bike!
  24. Nice bike! (Of course, I might be a little biased . . .) BTW, color options in 2000 were silver, black, and V7 Sport green.
  25. Here is ponti_33609's aluminum tank shown in the thread New Fuel Tank.
