  1. I can't get past the amount of ex "heads" that own / have owned a Volvo .
  2. Hmmm , buddy there is submersible rubber hose in fuel injection systems ( US ) since the 80s . A good vendor is Gates . I would use this and the fuel injection hose clamps ( screw/nut ) . I have them in most sizes in bundles . Don't remember the brand . also , look on aircraft parts vendors websites . They DO NOT sell WalMart quality s**t .
  3. A quick glance of Phil's post , I thought he had "mental" detectors ?
  4. You can gravity bleed the clutch system if you don't have a Phoenix bleed system .Turn the bars to the left and crack the bleeder 1/2 turn and allow it to flow . I hope you remove the dust cap . This is pretty important . Three "fill ups" of the reservoir should get out any air of the system. Tighten the bleed screw . use a short 10 if you have one . Work the lever to make sure you have a good clutch pull .
  5. Get the front fork / wheel in a straight ahead position and secure it . Get innovative ! You are using the tubes to set front/rear tire tracking . You are using the swingarm adjusting screws to center the front wheel between the light tubes . When you get things like you want it , there will be 0 preload on the swingarm pivot pins . After you do this , it will be SO easy !
  6. Awrite ! That's what I did & it worked out perfect . I had a chain hoist & all kinds of stuff to keep mine upright .
  7. The red frame is Whitney , after the original owner , the black frame has no name nor does the 87 SE .
  8. The pressure & volume are ( simplifying things ) the only concern for fuel pumps .
  9. And whatever dope smokin' music you listened to . The one I can't figure out why I listened to was Kraftwerk ? They were out there !
  10. Did you dig out your old Golden Earring * 8 track tapes from under the seats when you said goodbye ?
  11. You got that right ! After the last one I saw on this site , they are all but unavailable !
  12. No ship ! Too much time with a mouse & not enough with a throttle grip .
  13. Hmmmm . Too much thinking about valve clearance ? I was only aware of "hot" & "cold" .
  14. It looked pretty rough to me .
  15. Some memories are better off not remembered
  16. MMMM. look through the inspection port and see if you can see the flywheel . See if you can get a magnet to stick .
  17. Do you still have the Kaboom flywheel or the improved one . If you have the OEM , that's like riding around with a dissected aorta !
  18. Franklin , Tn. Is that where all the rich people live ?
  19. The cans....mmmm . The tank striping as with any mod , you have to stay close to the bank but still be BOLD . this one did it !
  20. Buddy , if you need a resistor , name the resistance and your address !
  21. Mmmmm . If you can get #s , you can see about different brands . Check different vendors and see what they have to offer . Unless there is something super out there , I would go back w/OEM .
  22. Whatever you do , make sure you do NOT damage the bore of the fork where the seal goes into the fork tube . When you install , lube everything liberally going back together . Use the be$t fluid and measure it exact when it goes together, use good towels & gloves to keep ANYTHING foreign away . Don't be upset if they leak . They will do this for about a month or two .
  23. I'm not near anything to dhow you the difference . the fork caps are visibly different . Hopefully someone will show pics . I found this out when I ordered seals , bushings , etc . for mine . The 2002/2003ish V11 Sport . I can't remember if the bare aluminum / black upper fork is a factor or not .
  24. Docc , I assume you & yours made it ok . My buddy & family ( in Franklin ) made it ok .
