  5. Stick is correct unless you are creative. I put two layers of painters tape inside the transparent housing over the high beam and flashers. I happened to have blue painters tape and green painters tape lying around.

  7. I did this and used some particularly bright LEDs. They are too bright at night. The High Beam indicator is way too bright. I had to dim them. I kept the incandescent bulb for the fuel.
  8. I've had both. I now ride with Tourmaster Synergy 2.0 Gloves. I like them much better than heated grips (which I had on my old K-75). With my hands out in the air, heating my palms doesn't help nearly as much as heating their backs, and those Synergy gloves are darn warm to start with. I have a Synergy jacket liner as well and they make a nice system if you ever decide to add more heat. I rode to work (45 minutes at highway speeds most of the time) at 34 degrees on Monday and was only mildy cool. As a bonus, I have found that when it is below 37 degrees I actually start to get cold if I ride faster than 80mph. So they are another good reminder to take it easy...

  10. Here is how I do it: Starting from the left with the bike on the sidestand. 1. Engage both tops of the stand on the porkchop nuts. Do not tilt the bike, it is still resting safely on its side stand. This means one wheel from the stand is not on the ground. You can look over the bike to see both nuts engaged in the stand. (I am only 5'4", so I am certain everyone else can do it). 2. With my right hand on the stand lever I put my left hand on the seat and simultaneously push the handle down and the bike vertical. This get the stand wheels on the ground pretty quickly and the bike is relatively stable. 3. Then push the handle all the way down and the bike comes up. I have never even come close to dropping the bike this way.
  11. You did it exactly same way I would have. There is rarely need to access the headlight bolts, so adding a few minutes to get access isn't really that bad.

  14. Can magnets detaching cause a simple reduction in torque or do they cause a complete failure? It seems my starter is getting progressively weaker. Could be the battery but it is pretty fresh.

  17. Mostly I was asking because I will be in there putting the Caruso gears in. I don't have any indications of a problem. I think I will skip it this time around.
  18. Has anyone used this pump? Did you get significantly better flow/pressure? I am slowly building out my engine into...something, I don't know. I just received a set of Caruso timing gears and "while I am there" I am thinking about upgrading the oil pump. Curious as to any real experience with it. Next year I will try to swing some Carillo rods...

  20. Proper sports bikes mostly appear to have very high revving four cylinder engines and look like insects.
  21. That makes even the normal Guzzi depreciation look easy! Truly. I don't see this bike being like a really rare Ducati or Bimota. You could start here.
  22. I read about that modification by GuzziMoto but it wasn't clear how he blocked it off. I suppose I could take a look, but I don't really trust myself to not make things worse. I don't have the depth of knowledge that he and Todd have.
  23. Just sold for $15.00 less than I paid for them. Pretty inexpensive lesson overall...Now I can go back to planning my frint suspension. Still trying to decide between a GSXR front end and sending my Marzocchi's off to Todd. A significant factor is the the gold forks from a GSXR would look GREAT with my blue/gold theme...I took a swing at a set of Ohlins on eBay last week but missed out.
