  1. uhhmma I dunno. but what's the verdict on the underside exhaust? It looks cool, I got the impression that it doesn't perform and doesn't last.
  2. Perhaps you can find a good local bike mechanic? There should be a few good ones in your part of the country. I've got a couple of "go to guys" in Okla City (and the nearest dealer is 100 miles away and am not sure they know anything about legacy bikes). last year I was in the area and drove by this shop. I have no idea if they are good. http://europeancycleservices.com/ or take a look here http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=31382.0
  3. easy check: make sure fuses aren't corroded.
  4. You might check if the Dunlops are still discounted.
  5. Clutch not fully disengaging: Low on fluid, flex/soft hose, leaky master cylinder, obstructed mechanism are likely culprits. You said a mechanic checked this all as good? Hmmm. Obviously, it's disengaging, just not 100% and it's creeping when stopped. What is "good pressure"? Is it pushing the right distance? Could you have good pressure in cylinder and have a soft brake line? It sounds like it's only slightly out of range. You're saying that if the factory installed the clutch backwards it would display this issue ten years later? Wow, dunno. I'd concentrate on the hydraulic system first. (BTW- if you post this thread on Wild Guzzi and you can bet someone will offer you $500 to take this terrible bike off your hands)
  6. it was good. I'd say spiciness and doneness was perfect, juicy & tender; might use a little more smoke. Friday I picked up some St Louis cut ribs from a stand from one of the weekly winners on Pittmasters' show. I was disappointed, almost tasted baked.
  7. have some country style (not) ribs on the grill. Smoked them for a couple of hours w/BBQ rub. Wrapped them and should be done in another hour. Never know about that pork, it could dry out, baked on some BBQ sauce with some coffee in the wrap. Corn and garlic wrapped in foil cooking too. damn hot out. 94 with a dew point of 74. I can't wait to get to Colorado for a couple of weeks. As soon as my wife is well. Inside watching women's WC.
  8. replaced the Angel & PR with a new set of Dunlop Roadsmart Qualifiers.
  9. Motorcycle gloves? Wear them. The oil will be absorbed or dissipated by the wind, heat and rain.
  10. I wore out the PR4 rear on my V11 Sport in about half the mileage that the PR3 ran on my Suzuki Bandit. I put on Dunlop Qualifier Roadsmart replacements because it was way cheaper. The Dunlop seems to ride as good or better than the PR4 and Pirellis I've run on it. (Most folks here will disagree with that.)
  11. The GT replaced the ST which is no longer available. I went with Dunlops in 170 size due to $$$. Seems fine.
  12. Did you get Chuck's "Rosie"?
  13. When I was looking to purchase my Greenie, there was one for sale on the MGNOC classified that was displayed inside a house in the great room next to the grand piano. I don't imagine that it was ridden too often. I do believe that spine frame Guzzis look like works of art. The one I purchase 2 1/2 years ago had 14k miles on it. I have 30k on it now.

  15. I think the pink gives it a nice patina.
  16. I was wrong... 0.10mm (0.004″)Exhaust: 0.15mm (0.006″) is correct valve adjustment set. At least it's what I use on both my Guzzis and what the book seyz. I am still not certain if you have an ignition problem of fuel delivery problem. The fuel pump should cycle every time you turn the key on. And if it's not running, it's pretty easy to pull a sparkplug lead and determine if it's sparking. The first step is to know whether it's spark or fuel.
  17. No, I didn't mean your plugs were fouling, I meant it's not clear whether you have an ignition problem vs fuel delivery. I keep an extra plug so I can pull off a lead and stick the plug in. I can see whether it sparks or not. Much quicker vs unscrewing the sparkplug. I would still check the ground.
  18. When it quit did you check for spark? I carried an extra plug around with me when my EV would die (BTW- it wasn't the spark, it was the fuel pump. Specifically it was the corroded fuses- I think.) If you think it might be ignition/electrical related, you might reinforce the ground. You might also check that the fuses aren't corroded. Either of those could cause an issue with ignition and the tach. If you have spark, then listen for the fuel pump. And what Docc said too. Valves are a might tight but I wouldn't think would be the cause.
  19. All I know is the cylinders are straight under the tank on my EV and one side (left IIRC) is largely covered up on the Sport from the rider's seats. No, I don't worry about it.
  20. Duhhh. I feel stupid now. That is part of it. Thanks for the clue, I needed one! Engine is also off the center line , 13mm to the drive side ->right. -KG- AFAIK the V11 with the 6 speed gearbox has the engine in the middle. The older models with the 5 speed box are off with 13 mm. Sent from a clever thingy with a microprocessor and an interweb connection my goodness. now that does give me food for thought. thanks
  21. Which way does yours tilt? I have to fix this, now that I have noticed, it will drive me nuts. The asymmetry is in the engine, not the tank. The RH cylinder is forward of the LH cylinder. This is because the connecting rods cannot meet at exactly the same spot on the crankshaft. Therefore the RH rocker cover is more forward and is more exposed than the LH. No fixing this... just enjoy it. That being said, you could still have issues with hose or wire routing. The emissions hoses can be relocated to a box of spare parts (or replaced with simple vacuum lines). I've been having a hard time getting my airbox to sit correctly because of all the hoses and wires that run underneath. This could possibly tilt your tank. uhmm. just like my EV?
