  1. OK. I'd appreciate to know a little more about wheel bearings. It strikes me every time you put a tire on a bike, you can inspect and service the wheel bearings and should be good to go to the next tire change. Am I wrong? I know I had a wheel bearing fail on my 5th Wheel travel trailer, that was a total disaster.
  2. Right now Im just exploring what my options are. But that's probably where this quest will get me in the end. Know any good ones? I only know a couple cats here in Okla City. I'd outline with them exactly what I expected. I've gotten a couple of seat repairs that had a few puckers in the seams that didn't please me. I always use Mr Google and the Yellow Pages.
  3. I understand that some of the 1100 Sport rideability issues were due to stretched timing chains and/or tensioner after all the carb and EFI fixes were tried and failed. I think Carl mentioned it to me after I had ridden a Sport that was serviced but still had a really bad rideability that couldn't be solved. I also know a fellow with an SP3 who tried to start his bike after riding it all day only to have no compression- both exhaust valves were bent. He assumes it was done by a timing chain slip. So here are a couple of suspected timing chain issues.
  4. I just noticed the paint job on the engine. Looks nice.
  5. Why not go to an upholstery shop and have a custom seat made?
  6. We could have a red frame registry but that would mean that the beautiful Greenies would associated with those dower gray and ink colored bikes. The Greenies stand alone
  7. Ive seen the HF stand too. I was wondering how it hooked up on the Sport? Pork chops or Swingarm?
  8. Good link man, has all sorts of models. Air Tech has all kinds of fairings and bikinis. I saw a couple of full kits for the 8in headlight. If you get the bare fairing, they can give you the contact for the matching windshield from Guftasson. http://www.bikescreen.com/
  9. I got a Trackside brand swingarm stand from Cycle Gear (on sale too.) I also had to "manipulate" mine. I did so by using a pipe clamp to spread out the U-shape at the bottom, because it was a bit too narrow for the V11 swingarm. It works fine for leveling the bike for service and removing the rear wheel. I also have a car floor jack that (with some boards to spread out the weight under the oil pan) can raise the front wheel off the ground when the bike is on the rear stand. I rigged up other things (like support from above per earlier photo to remove the lower shock bolt) and used a bottle jack (and more wood) at the exhaust hanger (drilled hole in wood as relief for exhaust hanger bolt) to lift the bike off the rear stand so I could measure suspension sag (1 stand and 2 jacks used for this procedure). After all that, the shop stand looks like the smart way to go - especially if you plan on keeping the bike for a while. Actually I went to Cycle Gear and took it out to the bike and couldn't make it fit. So I'd like to see what you did to it. I didn't know the factory stand went under the pork chops instead of the swingarm.
  10. That long Griso chassis doesn't look like the most agile beast. Having ridden the 8v, it reminded more of my Suzuki Bandit than my V11 Sport.
  11. has anyone taken a classic universal fairing kit and worked it on a Sport? http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/vintage/vintagefairingsquarter.htm
  12. You can get Molly from Harper's. IIRC, It should be enough product for 2 or 3 services.

I bet they're in great condition, colours would probably go very nicely with a Tenni... Would that much trimmer lad be about 5'10", a lean 170lb? You looking for a date or making a bid on my leathers? Docc's modeling for those 50 voyeurs on this site.
  14. ooh man, walk away. You can see how much problems these bikes are.
  15. You're a regular Bono there Docc.
  16. I guess there is nothing special regarding Greenies' VIN or the numbers of them that were built? Other than being the best looking motorcycle of all time, there is no reason to make note here. move along, there is nothing to see here, move along.
  17. Phil, you're saying this kit will prevent breakage of the pawl spring? And that Guzzi installed them on models from '03 and later? I thought the later bikes were the ones most vulnerable to this (like the Corsa Nero)?

  19. I've got one direct to the battery needed for the Slime Pump. I only have used to pump up a leaky tire. The only reason I installed although I could use it for other things I suppose.
  20. Pete, I certainly hope that you sent those rogues an e-mail calling their treachery to account along with the URL posts for this listing as well as on WG.
  21. I am not sure there's anything to sort out. When I first noted a small drip, someone here said it was overfilled and needed to puke out the breather. "Guzzis find their own oil level." So the drips went away. Then someone gets anal how I read the dipstick. So, I add a half a pint of oil, and not surprising, it pukes out some drips (so see above). Shall we repeat?
  22. it only "leaks" when it's been "filled"
