  1. it's pretty easy to tell which ain't firing by putting your hand on the head. The cold one is the dead one. I had a problem with the EV. The left cyl would quit intermittently. It took nearly a year to get it figured out. One of the ignitor module connections just wasn't quite connecting. After lots of trial and error I reversed the two connections and dressed them with dielectric grease and the problem went away. knock wood
  2. ooooh geeess, I am glad it wasn't "ass". good luck on the screws. my real point was to take the screws to a hardware store and get a match. Hope it all works out. The wife and I are planning our first visit there next summer.
  3. really? "Ace" is the same word in French as in English, I don't see the problem.

    More brochures

thanks for sharing. I own a Greenie and it's pretty hard to get a photo capturing the right color. I've toyed with exposure and white balance, flash and no flash. Very rare when it doesn't come out yellow or drab green. I see that MG had the same problem printing brochures. All of the photos are "yellowed out" despite being done professionally.
  5. take one to match it and go to Ace Hardware. Perhaps use a little Locktite to keep them from shaking out when you screw in the replacement. Change them all out to get uniform fastener type and finish. .
  6. just a tug and click of your allen wrench should do the trick.
  7. the Sport is a real knock out.
  8. It says, "can't be used to clean chain lube, that's why you bought a Guzz!i"
  9. I don't think any of the factory bikini fairings are frame mounts. They all hook on the headlight. I only know of two made specifically for the V11: Guzzi & Stucchi. They are different with different windshields, I know because my windscreen got broken (I don't know how but I think it got smacked in the parking lot at work) and I almost ordered ordered the wrong after market style windshield from MG but instead I got the factory windshield from MPH. My bike has the carbon fiber factory bikini fairing. Stuchhi had a color match. I've not seen them on the MG website so I wonder if they are no longer available?
  10. similar thing happened to me on a hot day (low 90s) of in-town riding. I decided to fill it with gas and big "SUCK" when I open the filler cap. Filled it with gas, has not happened since (cross fingers).
  11. my touring bike is an EV (this photo posted by Ed Milich in "Motorcyclist" Magazine) my Bandit has 79k miles my greenie
  12. Docc, "very likely?" "realistically?" or "for sure." (?) If "for sure", I need to discuss some towing & parking logistics help with someome.
  13. I have PR3 on my Bandit and had them on my V11 Sport. The rear wore out on my Sport sooner that I would've guessed. I replaced it with a Angel GT. I have been running PR1-2-3 on my Bandit. Haven't run enough miles on my Bandit to know if PR3 was an isolated problem vs PR3 on the Sport. Funny. the PR4 have come out so soon after PR3.
  14. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Windshield-WindScreen-Moto-Guzzi-V11-Sport-99-2003-V7-2012-V7-Cafe-Classic-09-11-/200826931626?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ec237c9aa&vxp=mtr I couldn't find the factory or Stuchi anywhere now
  15. My speedo jumps all be the place, especially above 70 mph. It was sold to me like that with 14k miles on it. I've owned it less than two years and have 28k miles on it now and the speedo (or cable or whatever) still hasn't totally stopped working and dances a little less than it used to. The trip odo has erased the "1" & "2" numbers on the second digit. I normally cruise by the tach speed anyway.
  16. didn't I read here the Sach's unit was rebuild-able with Ohlins components? Even so, your bike is out of commission while you're waiting.
  17. Be carefull! Zerks are brittle. They snap really easy! Hubert there's that and my Greenie that Chuck mentioned. Anyway, it's greased now.
  18. I just wouldn't want to take it apart twice for a $6 part....
  19. why wouldn't you just throw the old one away and spend another $6 for a spare? The big deal is the labor- not the part. Why would you reinstall a part that you went to the trouble to remove in the first place?
  20. I'm not sure of the performance differences. You MIGHT assume that a single exhaust would increase low and mid range at the expense of top end power. But you know what that say about ASS-uming. One thing is that a single muffler weighs less than two. I would guess that on the street that either could be make to work with little difference in performance. I do remember the Honda RC51 Superbike Twin Cyl 1000 of the early 2000s. Nicky won the AMA Superbike with one pipe and Colin won the world title with two. So it appears both can be made to work.
  21. The Chance is a hoot and holler I've met at least once before at the Arkansas Rally.
  22. think your bud, "the Chancellor of BMW" will make it again? he's a real hoot.
