  1. Duhhh. I feel stupid now. That is part of it. Thanks for the clue, I needed one! Engine is also off the center line , 13mm to the drive side ->right. -KG- AFAIK the V11 with the 6 speed gearbox has the engine in the middle. The older models with the 5 speed box are off with 13 mm. Sent from a clever thingy with a microprocessor and an interweb connection my goodness. now that does give me food for thought. thanks
  2. Which way does yours tilt? I have to fix this, now that I have noticed, it will drive me nuts. The asymmetry is in the engine, not the tank. The RH cylinder is forward of the LH cylinder. This is because the connecting rods cannot meet at exactly the same spot on the crankshaft. Therefore the RH rocker cover is more forward and is more exposed than the LH. No fixing this... just enjoy it. That being said, you could still have issues with hose or wire routing. The emissions hoses can be relocated to a box of spare parts (or replaced with simple vacuum lines). I've been having a hard time getting my airbox to sit correctly because of all the hoses and wires that run underneath. This could possibly tilt your tank. uhmm. just like my EV?
  3. when I sit on the bike, my tank seems to cover one cylinder totally but not the other.
  4. I know that Super Twin (from another Guzzzi forum) had his air stream parked there. I enjoyed taking photos on the crossover bridge.
  5. But does he drive Maserati? I would very much doubt it. I think he was an art director. I told him I had two Guzzis and I like the "feel" and the "ride".
  6. Yeah I saw MM jump over the wall and take off on his back up. His qualifying run appeared on the screen to be nearly a controlled wreck all the way around the track. When I got home, I was disappointed that my DVR cut out at the end of quals because the NASCAR race ran late and they didn't show any of it on the Moto GP broadcast.
  7. That grade school kid on Cafe Racer TV show that built that Honda 175 with a Dustbin fairing was there. I need to post some more photos other than the race. The Wall of Death saw running there too. Another interesting tidbit, the Guzzi rep at the show from the home office in New York City doesn't ride motorcycles. I didn't stay late after a morning ride on Mike's Ducati Monster, a day at the track, and dinner at Black's BBQ at Lockhart- I hit the wall. The Guzzi display at the track had the new Cal Eldorado and Cal Audice there.
  8. This is Mike Taylor's old bike, Rat Guzzi bought it and put in a clutch and did some honey-dos to it.
  9. http://www.dpreview.com/galleries/7320746049/albums/cota-2015 here some photos from Moto GP
  10. wow. Don't those bars have solid metal stock in them ?
  11. 113hp Griso sounds pretty cool. I'd be happy with 95 on my Sport.
  12. This a Race Tech emulator kit- not for cartridge forks such as on the V11 Sports/LeMans, You need to look for a Race Tech Gold Valve kit and Springs. It made a big difference on my Suzuki Bandit but it doesn't handle as well as my Sport.
  13. Thanks Scud, I'll pull the seat and battery and have a look. I'll tighten up some. When my buddy sat on it I was surprised with the squat on the rear. Funny, when I sit on it it seems to sit pretty square and firm and doesn't seem to sag much compared to my other bike. It handles great, good turn in and confidence in the turns. My mechanic said it looked pretty close. But seeing my buddy sit on it, caused me to do a double take. And I would like it not weave when I am hauling luggage on the highway. Anyway, I play with the damper and try to add some preload to the shock.
  14. Since I am riding 500 miles to Austin this week, I was wearing in the new Roadsmarts and playing around with the dampener. I could feel a slight difference with the steering effort, it was set midway and tried it on both ends (full ease and full tension). I think I'll go full tension when I put the bags on and get on the interstate. Now after I got back home a buddy sat on the bike. I was surprised that it squatted more than I expected. I am guessing it's PIA to get to the preload? The side panels come off to get to the adjuster? And on the bottom of the shock I can easily find the clicker. I didn't have time to experiment with it, I assume clockwise is stiffer?
  15. hey JB, I'd like to know a little more about the Raceco valves and set up. I had a Race Tek kit installed on my Bandit and it was real help. Of course my Sport is a much better handler than the Bandit.
  16. Still thinking about it. going to let it simmer until after MotoGP weekend. Too much work to get done. I was thinking you'd get it before Moto GP so could surprise me.
  17. I think it's worth more than $2k. More like $3k- $4k. You've heard all this on WG.
  18. Mike- still trying to decide? Once all the recalls and tach are sorted out, the shifter pawl spring is one failure item. When it goes the bike locks in gear. The spring is cheap but the replacement is a few hours. I keep a spare with me but probably couldn't fix it myself.
  19. wait! You'll be in Edmond? I am riding from Edmond on Thursday. I'll take back roads, cross at St Jo and hit 281 around MW. Send me a PM and I'll give you my cell. Definitely work out a beer or cup of coffee. No tickets or room yet, I'll either go T1 or GA. Plan to be at midtown area around 290 and I-35.
  20. why not cut the crossover out and patch it? Probably wouldn't look any worse and it's a permanent fix for the problem.
  21. I'll be there on the Greenie! I plan to get there Thursday night. This will be third straight trip to COTA. I was on the fence until I saw Rossi win last week. MJP -Mike- on WG lives in Austin. We met up last year. I think a few Guzzi guys from Houston are coming too. Also Blue Knight is riding from ATL. I think I'll ask Rocker to put on a sticky on WG. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=75198.0 I went to AF1, the Revival Show, 6th St BS, and BBQ in Lockhart. Hope to CYA there. I'll have scotch and cigars at the hotel. I wonder if the motels have opened the pools?\ I haven't purchased tickets. Turn 1 is best IMO. GA is fine too.
  22. I'll have to try the 160 next time. (Since I already ordered the 170). I am not sure what the "redframe squirm" is. I know Rocker likes the 160 on his Sport 1100.
  23. really? do we have a show of hands?
  24. When I got it, it had matched Angels. I also had a matched pair when both Michelins were new. Now that the front one is worn out, I am going Roadsmarts front and rear. (in between, I've matched the front Angel with a Dunlop Q3 and the front Michelin with an Angel) I really haven't noticed a big difference mixing and matching tire brands on this bike. The Q3 probably stuck best but it was a sport tire.
  25. I am not sure there is anything wrong. It's just might be the way it is. Since no one here runs the big bags on a red frame at speed we just don't have a point of comparison. Docc and I played with dampener. I might just tighten it up next time I am tempted to run a 100 with the bags on.
