  1. @docc He hears no evil. (perhaps it's due to the artillery reports?)
  2. I'm shocked, you didn't get a $4k bike for $3bucks> so what did it sell for it?
  3. I'm thinking it's that flukey kill switch. (designed by George Jetson)
  4. My goodness. Those things are worth their weight in gold. I've gotta say, anyone smart enough to hold on them must be a genius (Docc). https://www.hemmings.com/auction/1990-honda-gb500-broomfield-co-148727?utm_source=google&utm_medium=display&utm_campaign=make_offer_dynamic_remarketing&utm_content=620436190775&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlPWgBhDHARIsAH2xdNegxS1JZwLTPH3XLlduXRgU8IFyaXkGhaFFYG_Ad4XzIDR90WLdgOUaAn37EALw_wcB $16.5k
  5. I remember the mess you went through losing your photo stash for so many step by step projects.
  6. 1000 would more than do me. I just want a hosting site so I can post photos on forums like this and share with other folks on the 'net.
  7. DP Review -Digital Photography Review. I think it's the top photo site for hobbyists. Hosting member galleries was just one part of it. Lots of product reviews and many camera specific forums.
  8. The site I use to store my online photos is shutting down. I remember a couple of years ago some of you were in same situation, Would appreciate suggestions which site where I can move my gallery of online photos. Thanks.
  9. So is there any reason why 60mm would be an issue? Did I read that someone actually took 1mm off? .04 in doesn't seem like that big of deal. I thought someone said that Curtis was making up a "kit" with bolt + nut & washer? No, I still don't have my bike. Since Don dropped it, he's ordered a matching clutch lever to go with the replaced brake lever.
  10. Most people cram everything can into it. If it fits, it goes.

    Daytona 1000

@al_roethlisberger $15k maybe the start up costs. It's another cost to maintain and keep running.
  12. Best to all of you that were exposed.
  13. I had that discussion with the dealer owner. He made a point that the V85tt and V9 had few quality problems and only a couple of minor recalls. I think I'd be less afraid of this one than anything they've done in years. My concern is all the electrics and they seem to have a good record considering the Aprillia shared stuff.
  14. Perhaps they should've sleeved that bolt?
  15. went to Don's shop today, saw the new bike. Bike looks just like the photos. Seems like a nice piece, sounds great, comfy seating, dashboard menu is neat. Didn't care for the header heatshield, sorta tacked on, would take them off and show the stainless pipes like my Sport.here's Darren the modelupload image direct linkgonna test ride when it warms up next week. Since he's got both my Guzzis, hopefully he fix'em & it won't be long. (my EV on the rack) (oh and my Greenie in front)
  16. Docc, went to the shop. Don sent me this photo of the failed bolt. Regarding the needle bearings, I noticed there was fresh grease in it. He told me that he inspected and regreased it. Of course I request the he service the driveshaft as well.
  17. I might go to the shop tomorrow and look at the new Mandello- if not tomorrow, next week. I'll try to remember to ask him about the bolt. I'd guess he threw it out. But I'll try to ask.
  18. When I reread that, I knew that would get me in trouble.
  19. Wait, did I read right that you have a sheared bolt too? Or are you getting a replacement as preventative maintenance? So far as getting a replacement for mine, Don was saying something about obtaining it when he phoned me about it but I really didn't pay that much attention. I do know he said he was getting the stronger one. I think he got one in town rather. (IIRC when I went through this on my Duc that the stronger metal is also more brittle.) We need Chuck or Huzo to get to the bottom of this! BTW- we've been all over Curtis, MG and AF1 just trying to get the fuel level sender for my EV. None to be found. Looks I'll plug the tank in the meantime. Both Guzzi grounded.
  20. dunno, the bike's still in the shop awaiting a mirror and other stuff. I briefly saw the bike but didn't ask for the old bolt or think to ask him.
  21. I go to Ace most of the time. Seems to be better than Fastenall. We have industrial fastener supply on the southside of the City in a little town with all the strip clubs. Minimum purchase is like $20 there. Anyway, I played all those hardness grades with a non load bearing bolt assembling my Duc's pannier bracket that sheared. The new (stronger) one sheared just as the other one. According to the forum, the better fix was to tap it out and go to a larger size. Anyway, I'll see if the works. I'm planning to ride the Duc to MotoGP Austin. Full confession, I did have my bags overloaded according to Ducati. It's actually a Givi designed system with a Ducati badge.
  22. Then I'm not alone here. My bike has 50k miles if that's any guide. Hopefully I've got a stronger bolt. In other news the tech dropped the bike,,,,broke the rt side mirror and brake lever. Scratched the valve cover crash guard. The new brake lever is a different color, another issue............Turning into a project .....not done the dyno tune yet.
  23. The Magni looks great on the Greenie. The bars are little low for us geezers.
  24. I dropped off the Greenie for a new rear tire, brakes, et al., was told the torque rod bolt in the rear suspension was sheared and was holding on by a nub. I don't know if this is common, perhaps it's worth checking. I know I never looked at it. FYI
