  1. Here's mine, no makeup or expensive jewelry.
  2. I just got back from vacation. I saw a comedy show with Steve Martin and Martin Short. Most of you know that Steve plays banjo. This group accompanied him. I wouldn't really call it bluegrass as much as jazz+ banjo. The show was funny as you can imagine. These guys are worth a listen too. Allison Brown and Fair Weather Friends
  3. Docc, "Tennessee Plates" is on the John Hiatt record, Slow Turning. Where the kids are banging on the back seat like Charlie Watts. I saw John open for Robt Cray in St Louis 35 years ago.
  4. I should point out, when I write "tangible", I include products and service with that. Certainly there are many definitions regarding "value" but in an objective and universal sense, currency is the metric in an economic context. I'll disagree regarding "credit", since it's defined in currency and actually quite specific value based on time value and expected return. Of course we can consider barter, seashell, beads (or frogs), they blur the lines but are essentially a substitute for currency or historically, pre-currency. Essentially these are items of inherit value between buyer and seller but not based on an objective, transferable or universal metric. I read somewhere that there was a genetic mutation, perhaps 7,000 years ago that changed humanity's understanding of mathematics and accounting. I can't remember where I read it or even know that it's positively true. But it's an interesting notion.
  5. There's a Steinbeck museum in Salinas. One afternoon on our way to Monterrey,we took a stop for an hour or so before it closed. We ran by it by happenstance on the road. FYI- Bev is an English teacher. John owned a GMC V6 pickup camper and apparently drove all over and camped in the early '60s. I think that shows how much he liked to learn about people's lives. So Docc, how many croaks to a Bitcoin? Frogs are tangible by comparison.
  6. So far as value of a currency or tangibles? The values of tangibles are defined by currency. Currency holds value essentially due the amount of ownership it represents into a defined economy. As best I can determine crypto fails as being barely tangible (it at all) and fails as a currency as it represents no economic foundation. I could be wrong but remain "morally smug" and mechanically incompetent.
  7. The whole thing was bogus from the start. There was no way the PP would fine anyone. Businesses aren't in business to not do business. So much lawyer-ease in these silly ToS that PP execs didn't know themselves that someone had stuffed this in. So another (near) urban myth exposed. No doubt we'll encounter the next outrage.
  8. You're right Bill, life is too short. So I'll make my post brief. I really have no idea why PP has someone's panties in a bunch, what their new policies are and really don't care. I just wrote that eBay didn't recognize PP when I tried to make a purchase recently. Considering Bill's example, I'd certainly make the trade-off and agree with all of the offending paypal mumbo jumbo if it meant that all women had access to safe and legal abortions. I didn't bring it up. I think it was likely intended to "hook" someone- so consider me a perch. I thought little icon would suffice, apparently not.
  9. I'm not getting into the food fight here. The last things I purchased on eBay, those pinlock pins, eBay wouldn't link to my paypal and I had to submit my credit card directly.
  10. I just got the new bar and installed it. Looks like a good piece.
  11. When we'll see then delivered? Some reported Fall...............I said next Spring. I'm now guessing late next summer.
  12. That's my Greenie. I'm not in the photo since I think I took it. If that's the case, kudos to Docc that found it. Otherwise lost in the ether. Franklin diner as I recall. I got a kick outta The Chance. I suppose if you're a rider, what would you want at 80? Like the other (late) Doc wrote: "would you want to spend live pushed out of a tube or shot out of cannon"? My brief visit with the guy made that point. 155.
  13. The Chance. Met him at the Spine Frame Raid. Great guy. RIP. He's ridden everywhere. All across the Americas too. Yep, he seemed bigger than life. A true rider.
  14. Since as a young child, my parents would take us to Han's BBQ in OKC (forever gone), I was raised a BBQ snob. Later as a college kid, my girlfriend, now wife and I would eat at Bob's BBQ in Ada OK (gone too). That set the bar pretty high. I'm talking pork spare ribs but the other stuff (beef brisket, chicken) was good too. Hickory smoked. I'll give it up to Lockhart style BBQ, beef, savory, I think they use oak in their big pits. The style is prevalent across south central TX. Having lived in San Antonio in the early '80s, I was disappointed in the BBQ, although it's one of the best towns on the world. If I had known about Lockhart, I would have changed my mind about TX BBQ. Nothing like a huge beef spare rib. We have a few local places that are good here in OKC, sometimes great. I don't think we can do beef, since they like to use that red BBQ seasoning that's so good on pork.
  15. My red frame ate up Pilot Road 4. Being so expensive <Guzzi content> I've never purchased Michelin again. I get better mileage from Dunlop Roadsmarts at half the price. The Dunlops handle well too. Perhaps the 5 & 6 are better?
  16. I'd give you $500 for it. Cash! Don't answer now, think about it.
  17. Funny, it was listed for $100 euros. But the bill listed it for $80 eu, then DHL shipping was another $80 eu. It works out a little over $160US, about the same as I found here for cost but not available anywhere. The hmb said it wasn't OEM but an aftermarket supplier, so quality is unk but they did have it. Should get it in a couple of weeks. I assume hmb-Guzzi is reputable. I think we'll be lucky to get suppliers for many legacy parts.
  18. I went ahead and ordered one from Germany. I forgot to check here first after I got no info on Wild. I should've known better. Thanks guys, we'll pocket it this info for the next time.
  19. I crashed my bike and need a new crash car. If you have one PM me and let me know. Thanks
  20. Quite aggressive riding position on those bikes. I suppose it's more a collectable than a rider.
  21. Sorry about reading this but I'm glad not to be alone.
