That's how I've done it. I prime the jar with new brake fluid since I don't keep old stuff around.
-
Changing brake fluid is overrated. At least wait until it's dirty. Hey, if you're taking your Spiney to the Isle of Man, don't take a chance. Otherwise, it's nice to do when you change pads, maybe every other time or third time. I am the least mechanically inclined person on the board but I might not be wrong.

Perhaps my fuse is intact because of low current from the regulator? If it was charging when I rode the bike, the fuse would fry?
-
Let me check all that.
-
Docc. I check that 30 amp fuse periodically. Typically because the bike won't start. Sometimes it's that nutty kill switch that's just not intuitive. Anyway, my initial question, do I have a charging issue if my battery isn't fully charged after a ride? If so, do I likely have a regulator issue or perhaps an alternator issue? (Or a regulator ground issue?) For sure it's not over charging.

https://www.euromotoelectrics.com/product-p/edlguz-voltrect.htm It wasn't purchased here, but if it is the same unit purchased elsewhere, well I see this: USE OF ODYSSEY BATTERY ( DRY CELL DESIGN) AND LITHIUM IRON BATTERY NOT RECOMMENDED OR SUPPORTED FOR WARRANTY Now what?

The regulator was recently replaced. I think it has the Ducati charging system. To my original question, the battery should be fully charged after I ride it?
-
OK, Now I have another question. I took the Sport out yesterday for a robust ride, maybe 80 miles and a couple of hours. When I put the bike on the charger it was actually down a few fractions of a volt and took an hour or so to get back 13.5+ V. I would expect that alternator should have charged it up, or least kept the charge. Does this mean I have a weak regulator or alternator? BTW- The bike was shifting really well. It's amazing what a new battery charger can do.

Tinus, I would contact Beetle. He will likely have a map for that. You might search here or on Wild Guzzi to contact him. The other possibility might be to get a Power Commander.

ANSWERED Transmission Frame Mounting Bracket on a Centauro the Same as a V11?
LowRyter replied to Kane's topic in Technical Topics
The red bracket does look better than that silver. It seemed like a no brainer regarding getting a run of those done once he did the template. And it only makes sense to include the bolts rather than have someone shop around and try to find them. -
ANSWERED Transmission Frame Mounting Bracket on a Centauro the Same as a V11?

I brought the paint. I wonder if he gave me a credit on the bill? I financed the whole deal for the plates I guess. At least my bike is still on the road, so are some here and Don's still in business. OK, I'm a generous guy. You red frame guys own me a beer. I'm going to ask for a discount on the Desmo service on the Duc. -
I'd like to do some Ozark roads. Shouldn't be lots of traffic. the motel is still open @ $65 a night. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

So, even my 4A computerized charger still isn't enough for this battery? Sequences? I need to call Mission Control.
-
Cancelled as you might guess along with the other bike rallies. not many vacations this year.
-
I purchased it at Batteries +. I would assume it's an Odyssey. I thought it was odd that it started right up when it's cold but after I rode it, it lost it's cranking power on restart. I'd think the alternator would've done the job. I notice that my Ducati has Yuasa AGM and there appears to be no special instructions to charge it. In fact the Ducati dealer installs pigtails on it's stocked bikes for trickle charging.
-
That's what my bike did last week. I rode it and then it was too weak to start. Hopefully that 4A battery charger will help.
-
First, take off the valve cover and run the engine, if no oil stop right away. It should be gushing out. That means it's not the sender but it's oil pressure. Next, check your oil filter. It probably came off. (I have no idea about V7) After that better call Saul.

.004 int and .006 exh loose ain't bad but not that loose

I'd advise to keep the RPMs up and to replace the plugs it to gets too troublesome.

better than my Pixel. As good as my little travel Lumix. But it's not the camera, it's the photographer. Rocker on WG has the talent too.

Dave, I am impressed with wb, sharpness and depth of field with the photos of your Greenie. I tried to cheat and find the EXIF data but no luck. Would you share the info regarding camera, lens and exposure?

Too much for me to keep up with. The little trickle charger didnt seem to work. Even more confusing, the battery was too weak to start the bike after I had ridden it for 30 minutes and had just sprayed the switches with contact cleaner. I guess it might have discharged a little bit when I couldn't get to start and turned the ignition switch on and off, played with relays and neutral switch connector only to realize I had cycled the kill switch to off when I was cleaning the switches. After that it just would barely turnover and kick back. I doubled the trickle charge over night (two units), I they're 500MA and it did start this morning. Then I read all of this rigmarole about AGM batteries and stuff, yada yada. Maybe these little chargers aren't right for it? So anyways, I went to Harbor Freight and picked up a 4A unit that has an AGM "mode". I've got it plugged in now. For $22 I didn't think I could go wrong. I figure you guys can tell me if this a fix or a screw up. It's showing green now 13.5V and in maintenance mode. (I think I'll check the starter connections next) https://www.harborfreight.com/4-Amp-Fully-Automatic-Microprocessor-Controlled-Battery-ChargerMaintainer-63350.html?ccdenc=eyJjb2RlIjoiOTUxOTU2OTQiLCJza3UiOiI2MzM1MCIsImlzIjoiMjIuOTkiLCJwcm9kdWN0X2lk IjoiMTIyNDMifQ%3D%3D &cid=paid_google|||63350&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=&utm_content=&gclid=Cj0KCQjwtLT1BRD9ARIsAMH3BtVr8nFSPxjge4FBIzpBtyNjPwITq2X6AdTubk-pKP_L8qP-ixsj3moaAoh8EALw_wcB I g

I had my original shock rebuilt with a heavier spring. I did it because the external adjuster didn't work. I ultimately had more noticeable results just playing with the adjusters on the fork. The issue I had was weave at higher speeds with those big HB Jr bags. I experimented quite a bit stiffening the rear, when I should've been softening the front. That was the key for me. I discovered it when I had a new front tire installed it was loaded with max air. The front was just bouncing all over the road and weaving. I wasted some time adjusting air pressure when the fork adjusters were right in front of my face. (Of course the rear tire should always carry 4lb more air than the front.)
