It can be difficult getting the green on the image. I've found my phone does a better job than my DSLR for snaps. Sometimes I have to play with the WB to "blue it up" a little.

you might adjust the white balance on your camera.
  3. #18 http://www.harpermoto thanks !
  4. I've got oil residue around the right side cover around the airbox boot. Does that indicate it's the breather hose? I guess I'll inspect it when I do my winter maintenance. I plan to take off the gas tank to install the new fuel line anyway. I couldn't find the breather hose on Harper's - does anyone know the part number or can cite right page from parts manual?
  5. Originally, I was going to ride there. But since Dorica is coming, Bev wants to go and I'll tow the bike(s). Once Bev saw the photos of the hotel, I think she thought it was a little more civilized than my normal Arkansas adventures................

The Sport and LeMans are the "BEST USED BIKES" (p.63). Just a small blurb. Didn't know there was a Sport in Guzzi yellow. Fake news. Oddly enough, my 1200 Bandit is listed as "The Competition". Uhhm, perhaps.
  9. Call the Hotel Seville, 870-741-2321. Book during the weekend of 17-20 May 2018 (17th is Thursday when I plan to get there, dates are flexible). Tell them you are part of the Motorcycle Group and get 15% discount. My Queen Room is $80/nite.
  10. OK guys. Called the Hotel Seville in Harrison Ark. Both weekends are clear (the first date is Mother's Day. Please note I've edited this post). The hotel has a patio bar for drinking and stogies. I am calling it. 17 - 20 May 2018. Who's in?
  11. actually, I think those are "shorty" motorcycle boots.
  12. how about an Indian street tracker. 430 lb and 100+ HP in a chrome moly frame?
  13. I saw Los Lobos last night. It was a great show by a great band. A different show than I saw last year opening for Tedeschi Trucks. None of that abstract drunken Latin I enjoyed on Colossal Head ("Mas y Mas"). It was rock and blues, with David picking up the accordion for a few Conjunto songs in the middle. The band ended with Dead medley of Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away" and "Bertha". The encore started with "Cinnamon Girl" and ended with "La Bamba" / "Good Lovin" medley.
  14. I've ridden the 2nd Gen Duc SS (at Sturgis in 2000). In fact, it's the only Ducati I've ever ridden. I believe it was one of the most uncomfortable bikes I've ever ridden. My neck was really cramped trying to look down the road. Power was nothing special (compared to my Suzuki Bandit). The carryover thought to me was the road seemed to be much wider, it seemed the width of the road felt 4 motorcycle lanes wide instead of three. I am told the Gen 1 is a more comfortable bike.
  15. IIRC, Yamaha built 5 valve engines for about 20 years for their 4 cyl performance bikes. Ferrari tried it in F1. Mostly abandoned due to complexity and little performance gains. The pentroof 4 valve design appears to be the standard. Yamaha's last 5v engines were eliminated from production maybe 10 years ago. Yamaha started to abandon the concept after Rossi tested several MotoGP prototype engines. Rossi selected the 4v "big bang" inline 4 cyl. Most MotoGP engines, whether inline or V4 engines, run 4v / 4 cyl big bang engines. Yamaha R1 sportbike is a street version and the new Ducati V4 superbike is also street version of their GP design.
  16. OKay guys, showing my age here. Picked up a few tunes recently. I'll recommend two: First is Leon Russell's last, "On a Distant Shore". You might know he was part of the LA wrecking Crew. He backed up everyone from Sinatra to Dylan. So he decided to do full orchestration on his last album. I think it's quite fitting. Some songs are about love and moving on. Some new songs and few standards like "Song for You" and "Masquerade". I live in Okla and he and JJ Cale have always been in my heart. Leon gives us all a fitting goodbye. Thank you Leon. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/albumreviews/review-leon-russells-on-a-distant-shore-is-a-powerful-goodbye-w504766 And then there is Van Morrison's "Roll with the Punches." It features Jeff Beck (tastefully) on half the songs. It's a really nice blues record. He even shares the vocals on a couple of songs. Both are great. Nice to sit on the patio and have a drink. Thumbs up on both.
  17. Mine is similar: Xover, slip-ons, K&N filter and tear drop holes in the airbox. Brad S (Chuck's son) set it up with a PC. Runs really good so far as power delivery. Starts easily and pulls good. No hiccups. WIsh I could sort out my EV like that. BTW- the Sport without the airbox looks boss. Love the air frame-spine frame look. If it runs right with the PC and no airbox, I wouldn't mess with it. I think the OP has plenty to do with the clutch and transmission bracket.
  18. It defies logic to me that taking the airbox off would make the bike run rich. Perhaps the airbox is pressurized? Still the PC allows the rider to adjust the mixture. I can't understand what is wrong with that.
  19. I have disagree with some of the advice here: keep the PC unless until you are capable to program your ECU with Guzzi Diag. The PC on my bike was set up right and works great. I don't know how to set up a PC nor use Guzzidiag. But if you have no airbox, for sure you'll need to run it richer and will need to keep the PC until you get up to speed on Guzzidiag. Also, many aftermarket tuner shops with chassis dynos know how to set up the PC but certainly not GD.
  20. congratulations. I agree with Scud's advice.
  21. There's a really well written book "Stealing Speed" about Ernts' defection and betrayal of his mentor, Walter Kaaden. Part spy, part racing, part heartbreak, part tech and innovation of two stroke bikes. https://www.amazon.com/Stealing-Speed-Biggest-Scandal-Motorsport/dp/1844259757
  22. I am pretty sure this failure has little to do with flexing in the corners. I think it has everything to do with doing hard acceleration starts when you wind 'er up and let go uv the clutch. That tranny is taking the torque and hammering the frame when the rider takes off. I am guilty as charged.
  23. It looks like the same crack that we have on the left side tranny on the redframe but on the right side. I think this is the first failure that we've seen on blackframe. I suppose there might be some queasy feelings. I suppose that Scud is correct. I've privately wondered if the fix could've been done with epoxy when adding the the bracket? Considering the bracket would stabilize the stress area and the epoxy would only need to seal the leak. If MI doesn't have those brackets you should be able to get one from Don. Paint it black instead of red. For sure get the bracket.
