  1. If you get there early in the week the roads are almost empty, no yahoos
  2. I am limited in how much space I have so it may be nixed on that account. The reviews made the same comment about having to modify the HF changer. Thanks
  3. Who changes their own tyres ? Any advice, opinions, experiance to share ? I've been looking at some You-Tube videos, the Motion-Pro website & wondering about the Harbor Freight wheel changer.
  4. I thought that shortly after finishing the bike a car pulled out in front of him & wrote off the bike. But I have no proof, just a memory
  5. Seeing that tap handle of Theakston's 'Old Peculiar' brought back many happy memories.. Between that and Marston's Pedigree they were my staples over 30 years ago... I can't believe it's been that long
  6. Here is an allied thread currently evolving on GrisoGhetto; https://www.grisoghetto.com/t4190-reworking-forks Worth a look
  7. The long awaited & much anticipated entry from our semi - offical Scribe
  8. Caught the thunderstorms south of Lexington & rode the 200 miles home in the rain. Oh well!
  9. No, packing now. Looking forward to an early start making my way on back roads.
  10. I’ll be there on Wednesday night after a wandering ride on minor roads. A few days riding in the Tellico area before everybody arrives. Thanks for the ‘dry’ county reminder. So un civilized Docc, when are you getting in to put up the bunting ?
  11. Thanks to Dan & Walt at the Lodge, all is settled. I'll be there on Wednesday evening & beginning to convince myself to just ride the Griso down. This would mean I won't be bringing the big white van, the landbridge loading ramp, all of my tools & box fans for the garage tech sessions. What will we be doing for a tech session ? Shaft drive replacement ? Swinging arm service on a Norge ? Checking the voltage regular on a V11 ? Answering Kiwi Roy's electrical schematic puzzles ? Discussing how long a battery should last. Or my hope; the dark art of suspensions & sag setting ! Is Ducati Tim going to be there this year ? Looking forward to it !
  12. Don't try it ! Just saying. Don't ask me how I know....
  13. We're getting closer now I had originally booked this double room to share with a mate to back out. Does anyone have a double room that they'd mind sharing ? Rockerfella I'm not. PM me if you have space.
  14. I lived in Colorado Springs for 9 years, that's where my accent is from, for those who've met me , which is at the base of Pikes Peak. Hiked it 3 times & climbed alot in the foothills there. Whenever visitors came I'd take them up the road to the top. In the early 90's it was only paved 1/2 way, so racing a vehicle was more of a Rally event than road racing. Most people would get lightheaded at the top, some headaches fairly quickly. The riding, on the video, amazed me , the commitment into the turns! This isn't a smooth surfaced racetrack.. The roads have in places 1000's of feet of dropoff & the roads often have the rock debris scattered over the surface from the freeze thaw cycles on the rockfaces above. Kudos to him !!
  15. That is a nice one & compared to a Vincent, a good price.
  16. Peletonia is a Charity bike ride that happens across the country. Apparently Blair was a group of bicycles, the 4 in front of him veered left to avoid an obstacle & in trying to do the same he ran into a 3’ traffic cone which knocked him off. Seems the same accident could happen to any group of cycles with engines or not.
  17. Just heard that my riding buddy, Blair with the red Griso, had a serious accident riding in Peletonia yesterday. Fractures to his pelvis, so he'll be recovering for quite a while. This means that there is a bed available in my room if anyone is hesitating about coming down.
  18. Here is PaulDaytona's advice in May 20 2014 to Wayne Orwig; And for maps, start with reading what map you have in the left bottom corner in Guzzidiag. Then I can tell you is there is something better. Cheers
  19. Why not ask Meinoff ? I was just reading about the work he's doing on ECU's & various maps, over on WildGuzzi. In the shed, I'm getting closer to installing a Beetlemap in the Griso, Beetle is one of the mainstays on the Grisoghetto, and was wondering what maps are available for the V11's ? To quote Pete Roper; I don't believe Mark (Beetle)has done much map work for the 15M/RC as used on the V11's. I might be wrong but that.'s why I suggested V11.Com as I know there are several folks who have built their own maps over there. So who are these folks ?
