I have finally gotten around to mounting my Ti kit. I did switch xovers from the FBF to the Stucci so I could utilize the hanger bracket. The Stucci is a pita. Built heavy and very sturdy compared to the FBF, BUT.. it's as if the jig they built it on was crooked. Also, the o.d. of the re-enforced exit end was too big. About 1mm. Dosen't seem like much but none of my mufflers would slide on it. I spent an hour on each one grinding and polishing till they would accept a pipe. The cans don't seem to hang quite right and I haven't tightened everything yet.
Now a brief hang-up, so to speak. The included "instructions" for the Ti kit don't show the order in which the washers go onto the hanging strap. This is important because they did include a warning that (as MartyNZ stated) said strap must be installed with correct alignment, so as to not f-up the can skin. So... anyone know the proper/intended order? There are 3 flat washers supplied per side. One goes on either side of the rubber grommet. Then what.. the strap, another washer and a bolt? Maybe the washer goes inside the strap. Simple enough, but I want to get it right. I did not get the little "Ti Kit" sticker for the ecu, so I'm not confident they gave me the correct amount of washers. I have left over bolts as well.??
P.S. I have the upgraded hanger straps from MartyNZ waiting to go on. I want to get everything snugged up and working as it should with no problems with any bind in the system before using them.

I've been looking for a shop manual for the bikes. '02 LM's.
I really wanted paper but am tired of looking. This CD from epay looks like it covers about everything. Any input or experience, up, down, sideways, is appreciated.

nice job. thanks for the great post. how are you posting the cool descriptive photos?

God, what a beauty

when I bought the Tenni new. The first oil change was done at the dealer. They over filled it and it blew oil out. It's been so long I cant remember where it came out. If you just had it serviced, I would follow that up. Shouldn't be any oil in there, and I'm not sure why the plug would come out, unless it wasn't put in correctly.

very interested. I'd like to see the price before commitment.
thanks scud, for putting it together.

first I've heard of them. looks like a cool spot. did they do customs?

with all the conditioning involved with the Odyssey, I was considering a Shorai LI replacement. I have them in other bikes and love them, but they are fairly new to me, so no long term reports. Super light, higher cca, longer storage, (mo$$) I will follow this thread with interest.

hey, I need this kit! and new signals too? 'splain those please.

that small paint chip on the pork chop 'might' indicate shift lever contact at some point

Nice!
Saint Vitus/Black Sabbath... I had to look them both up to make the connection, lol. Wouldn't Joe Cocker work as well?

Roy, what is the cut off year for those early/late layouts? Or, which applies to an '02? And thanks, I'm soaking it all in. I could just compare them to my shop manual ...IF I HAD ONE. Could anyone recommend a good one, and maybe where to get it? I like paper, not a fan of cd.

excellent!

here's one for an '01.
If yours is anything like this with the side mounts, there are hundreds of other make alternatives. If you aren't fixated on oem replacement. Airheads have notoriously expensive headlights, so I used a $10 vintage Kawasaki, and only a nosy purest can tell. If you go this route, give us a picture an a measurement or 2 so we might make a recommendation.

I recall something was talked about a spacer or actuating rod or ?? being different when going to a single plater from dual. There's a thread with that I'm sure tho I can't say where. Now... where in H*** did you get a Ram clutch?? And.... what was the condition of the Alum stock flywheel? Mileage?

I assumed you meant the clear plastic cover for the idiot lights. $8

whats the dash look like now with the new guages ? please post a pic.
Anyone know where to get the plastic cover for the idiot lights ?
I got that piece and the rest of the dash pieces at Harpers MG. Just use the fiche on their site. Or call them. They're good people.

So this got me doubting the fit of my Corbin. The photo of yours seems to match my seat. I put my seat on the 02 LM and it fit as well as one could expect for aftermarket. I had to imprint on something for a contact test. I used corrugated cardboard about 3/32". There was a small but definite hit on the front corner of the relay. And a slight corner hit on the fuse box. I'm sure I could hammer a dent to clear both. The rubber bumpers seem to be in the correct spot, but I can't really tell. The seat is a good fit otherwise.
Now, strangely enough, it doesn't fit as good on the Tenni. I didn't pursue the reason cause I don't care
Could be the rear catch position. Sorry about your seat, hope I didn't mislead.

Went for a nice ride. Got a flat front tire pulling into my driveway. I couldn't have chosen a better time for it.
I've got a Pirelli Angel GT on order.
I put an Angel on the rear and I like it. Don't know why, but it was a bit disappointing seeing it was made in China. Pirelli sounds Italian right?

the Corbin site shows only one, the V11S-G for all years. that is what mine is. it has a metal pan, fairly flat, without all the goofy contours on the stock seats. new $395.
-
I was able to get into Harper's site and they list two different part numbers for seats for different years.
From what you guys are saying the overall dimensions and attaching mechanisms should be the same. But the shape under the seat may cause clearance problems - which can probably be addressed with some cutting or grinding. Does that seem right?
yes. my early seat fit, but under seat components are arranged differently and fouled the seat pan. once I did cut outs, it fit just like the later one. Again... the Corbin pan will be different than stock.
-
they are different, but only in a couple spots. frame wise the same, but early seat will hit some components that mount higher on the later models. I can confirm this, but only for stock seat pans. I have a corbin too, and don't know what year it was made for (ebay). It seems to fit but I'll have to investigate further to see how well. I'll let you know any revelations I find. ditto fotoguzzi, I paid 225 for mine.

That strong looking rubber mount is a pu$$y . Mine has been off for a long time.
That would indicate to me, all the more reason to use one, or better one. Especially with the 'seemingly flimsier' Ti hangers.
The last new Ti exhaust kit ever?

The system is on, sans ecu. 100% of the problem was the Stucci xover. It is not built properly. Up against the stocker and the FBF it was obvious. The left side of it was welded on about 10mm to the rear of the right side, causing the left can to stick out further from the hanger mount point, and farther rearward, and throw out the center frame hanger alignment. I cut 10mm off the left rear to even it out. That, and some shifting on the head pipes, got me within 5/8" of the left can hanger strap being perfect. Since the symmetry was now acceptable, I used a 5/8" spacer at the back of the strap, and all is looking good. I mean looking reeeeeally good. And the sound is glorious.
The bike has a pc3 and was tuned for FBF xover and oem cans. I'm going to ride some before ecu swap. Soak in some of that sweet noise.
