  1. I ride a LM so can't comment on the Sport re: dampner. I think you answered your own question tho, & +1 on getting the aftermarket.

+1 on the bike being beautiful. She was kept clean.

I'll take a wild guess on the bars. LSL maybe from Spiegler??

Seat? reworked for sure. The upright position will be harder on the butt, easier on the neck.

    congratulations on the nice score.

  2. Marty-Scud

I'm curious if either of you are running an aftermarket xover, and if yes are you utilizing the frame hangar bracket for it. There will be much more stress (especially vibes) on the can hangers if this is not used. My mounted FBF xover does not have a frame hanger, but my unmounted Stucci does. It seems ok with the stock cans, as the can brackets are much beefier and the "hang" symmetry is better than the Ti system. When I add my Ti cans, I'm considering using the Stucci (although it's fitment is less friendly) for the bracket, OR welding one on the FBF.

  3. What insulation???

Maybe it got sucked into that filthy air filter?

So... Should I try to get original or something else? Any issues if I leave it "as is"?

Insulation may be the wrong word. I'd say it's more of a chrome-ish metalic tape. much like hvac duct tape.. the good stuff. I actually used some of that to re-attach where my stock stuff was falling off, around the edges. I think it's original purpose was more to reflect heat than anything else.

  4. mine isn't much louder (intake noise, which I LOVE) than stock. I have a Feracci xover and stock cans. We'll see when the Ti's go on in a few weeks. :) Sound is the "charm" of a twin.

Gio - I didn't realize K&N sold one for stock config. sounds like a good alternative while still using the snorkels.

  5. It's make me very happy modify my V11 to be faster. Open airbox without lid, open exhaust mufflers, milled twin spark heads with stock piston, Stucchi cross-over and many work on personaly ECU remapping via TunerPro + GuzziDiag/Reader/Writer.

please gelos, let's see some photos!

  6. kmac33.... "With both of my Guzzi's (and both of my cars), I run after market exhaust systems for 3 reasons: 1. I like a louder than stock exhaust, 2.it provides a performance gain (proven via dyno), and 3.to me, most aftermarket systems just look better. The aftermarket performance gains are often augmented by cutting weight as well. On my Griso it cut close to 30 pounds getting rid of the stock "monstrosity" - that is equal to close to a 3 horsepower gain performance wise."

agreed. I have always felt one has to put the bike right by undoing Govt restrictions. A few changes to make it as it should have come from the factory. Intake/exhaust always need attention imo, and done on every bike I've owned, except oem resto. In which case I MUST have stock. And boy are those things hard to find. If I could go back in time and collect all the thrown out exhausts from the 60's & 70's.... :food: !

  7. Ouch: also, I noticed you started with 2 amps. Odyssey is ADAMANT that the PC545 will NOT charge on less than 6 amps.

Meaning, if the AGM is below 12.65v it will absolutely require a minimum of 6 amps to charge.

    Do not exceed 15vDC.

docc, what do you think is up when (as I have done many times) a 2a battery tender blinks like it's charging normally, then after several hours goes green like it's charged.. is the battery or the tender being tricked into thinking it's charged? I've never checked voltage.

  8. "If you never seen a Mile Flat Track, I can tell you it's the most exciting racing there is.  Compare it to anything, Indy Cars, Moto GP, NASCAR, it's really exciting."

Ditto that! I live in Indy and the Mile is great! I stopped going only b/c they put it the same time as the state fair (at the fairgrounds) and used the infield for fair parking, and you no longer get to watch the race from there. Still good from the grand stand.

A few years ago I got to see Kenny Roberts put the TZ750 thru it's paces for an exhibition ride. He didn't hold back. Thrilling.

  9. "And do not neglect to groom the side stand switch wire well away from the exhaust and other harm. It is what the Run Switch lives on while we are under way . . ."

To that I can attest!  While running at speed, said loose wire contacts head pipe, melts insulation, pops fuse. And 3 days work to find it. not fun.

  10. welcome cda! I am not the electrician here but there are several members who are. Just to be clear, what 'instrument light' goes out? And, sorry but which is a city light? There's loads of info here concerning the often problematic dash lights. I suspected corrosion in my dash lighting, and cleaned sockets and replaced all bulbs. Next time I'll consider the led option.
