Thanks, Tom.
I'm planning to take the tank off again in the next week or so. I'll have a good look then.
I've had 4 6speed V11. A 2000, 2X 2002, and an 03. All had crank vent tubes in various stages of disintegration. They aren't made to handle the heat and oil mix. At least the oem's weren't.
Leaks often presented dripping onto the center of the crossover.
this one.

The separation might not have been so “recent” if that mop is any indication...
yeah, the pic was in the fall and I got out in early May. The mop was genetic 😉

First "real" street bike. Recent separation from the Army. '69 H1 500
Dad-built Honda powered Rupp was the true first.

Gee is that a thing... a V11 glow?
It absolutely is. I feel it every time I ride it. Unusual and unique. No other bike creates the same feel. I don't know what the 'best' bike in the world is, but none I've ridden pull together as many sensory notes quite the same.
so "glow" works

If Zappa didn't have a Moto Guzzi, it was just that he was busy with "other things" . . .
brief shot of Mark Volman in there I think. (Mothers/Turtles) Flo & Eddie played at our club early 80's. Really fun, and funny guys. Took the piss out of Journey, while singing 'Happy Together' for stealing a base line.

I owned a Road Glide for awhile. Best distance tour bike I've ridden. Surprisingly good handling for it's size.

The weight limit listed on the rack is 3kg. I have toured with 4 to 5 times that piled on it. The rack itself is strong enough for more. The Mfg concern is likely the mount points which are the weak spot. They are the tabs pitifully welded to the frame and carry the weight and vibration of the mufflers as well as the passenger pegs. The use of the rack provides some stability to the area imo, though the extra 'levered' weight should be considered when loading.
They also maybe were considering controlability/liability with the weight 'warning'
I wouldn't pay it much thought.

hate to annoy but 99.99% of the time, it's the hose. It can 'look' fine but at the rear where it attaches and just above the clamp, there could be deterioration only visible with close inspection, ie: move it around a bit.

what about Goose, Gootsie, etc? they can't trademark everything
Lots of HD places began using "V Twin"
A local BMW repair shop switched to B&W
must be some creative ways around it.

I enjoyed the article. It looks like some actual research went into it.
Yes they did seem to take it seriously. Kevin was either bored or genuinely interested. I wonder how many reviews of every new ICE bike will begin with "and it's not electric"

Wow, the 77 in blue was about the prettiest of all years. That's a nice tripple there!

I suspect your W650 is much like having a Honda GB500. Fun, interesting, reliable and my GB has kept me from buying lots (and lots) of other bikes . . .
Very much so docc. I love the style of the classic standard. So many iterations to choose from. When I'm tempted with something new, I look back at mine and wonder what's the point in chasing what I already have.
Early concept pic, some things have changed. it has mufflers now

What did you do to your V11 today?

On the bike I still have I used copper plumbing bends and =can't recall what type hose= but it has lasted awhile now. Use your best judgement on what will tolerate oil. Many say don't use auto heater hose. I made mine when those preformed replacements were $40.+
