    Thanks everyone for the positive comments.
      If anyone decides to tackle this, my advice is to draw the cuts you want to make, take your time and leave generous excess to trim down. It’s not a lot of work, but it matters to get it looking how you want!

    it does look great. Do you have any secret ways to smooth or polish the surface? I've tried to clean up scratches and it looks worse.

    The pegs really fit perfectly and don’t seem to be modified in any way, but no guarantees!

    Yes early Duc Monster. Here's one from my saved search. I've purchased several a LOT cheaper and nicer, being patient. They appear to be the very same as the MG oem's with the addition of a rubber covering. That thickness is how much higher your foot will ride. (2-3mm?) Reduces vibes on the feet.

    New from Duc is like $80 iirc.

    Just coz I stumbled across this thread I thought I'd put in my bodged effort to install an LED unit into the Sfida.

    Yes I know the original H4 Bosch unit looks better, I could hardly think I'd do a better job than Arturo Magni after all. I was also careful to ensure I could easily change it back, I reckon the stock one could be back in, taking a little over an hour from start to finish.

    I very rarely ride in the dark now, I wanted an LED unit to improve my visibility to others in daytime conditions. Purchased a Koso Thunderbolt, it has a flat Lo Beam so suitable for left and right side driving.

    When it comes to 7" headlamps the measurement is a joke, the Bosch OEM unit is >300mm diameter (say 305), the Thunderbolt is 170mm.

    After a lot of bodging and experimentation and regretting that the idea ever entered my tiny little brain I got something that, sort of, works.

    I won't bore you with all the details, but in the end I'm reasonably pleased with the result. Was it worth the effort? DEFINATELY NOT.

    That said it has yet to be tested out on the road and the LED running light on its own will be more visible to other traffic, due to the higher colour temp, than the H4 dip beam I reckon hope.

    That looks Great! Is that in your bedroom? can't blame ya mate. Any explanation you're up for re installation I'll be watching.

  4. That looks the real deal Swoosh. The orig valve covers were that "other" red, the Rosso Mandello red, and it tended to fade. PO probably didn't like it. I have a 'parted' RC and it had LM labeled side covers. The bubbles under the decal are from the inside and are common. good luck to friend!

    It is the PC545 MJ (Metal Jacket) that has the metal case.

    FWIW, Odyssey looks to be changing the nomenclature:

                PC545 = ODS-AGM15L

                PC545MJ = ODS-AGM 15MJ

    The MJ is one pound heavier and 0.10 inches longer and wider (same height).

    The "Extreme" series are ODX prefix, but I am not seeing the 15L in that current series:

    Yeah I was wrong about Extreme. I have 3 545's and they all say that, even the one that came in the metal jacket.

    Going by the pictures, mine all have a black case and have structural ribs, like on the website. Al's looks like the metal case in the pic. @al_roethlisbergeris your case plastic or metal?

    Apologies if this is covered somewhere in the preceding 19 pages, but has anyone else had trouble physically fitting the Odyssey PC545 in their battery tray?

    In the photo below, you can see verrrry thin (thinner than a credit card) strips of plastic wedged between the corners of the battery and the frame to protect both.  Those pieces of plastic are in there TIGHT!

    So the battery "fits" in mine, but it is incredibly tight and the bottom corners of the battery are squeezed up against the frame of the motorcycle.  I don't like that for two reasons:  1)  I don't really want the paint rubbed off the frame.   2)  More importantly, I don't want that kind of stress on the battery body.   ...and of course it bothers me that the battery just doesn't quite fit.

    So the real question is this whether this is some oddity with my motorcycle, or others have had similar experience, and if so what you did?

    I'm not married to using this battery, so I guess a secondary question is what other brands and models of batteries are working out well for others?

    IIRC the Extreme series comes in a steel case. It's the same battery inside the case and can be removed. It's held in with a silicone type goo. I bought one once thinking it might be "better" and like yours, was too big. I just popped it out.

    Are you still getting email notifications even after changing your followed content preferences?

    I still have 80 pages of followed Content to go through. The notifications started about 1 AM so they’re trying to avoid you noticing. As long as we’re secure, it’s a minor annoyance. I’ll deal with it on my end eventually.
    When I purge all Tech topics followed, I’ll report back. Thanks Docc

    I don't recall engine number on titles or registration.

    Indiana goes by the frame for vin. I know Wisconsin used to use engine numbers for awhile at least. I had to get an affidavit for an outa state purchase. When the bike was titled here they went with the frame #
