  1. Excellent sauce. Cheers docc! I’ve not had a problem till now but I’m guessing that miles and miles of good vibes thru the latch cable may have stressed the relay base (or just that relay) causing consternation in the system.
  2. Hey up guys, A couple of instances of non-starting lead me to noticing that how the seat cable is routed results in it pressing up against the rearward relay. I’ve lashed it to the sub-frame now so that’s that, but might be something to check? What is that relay for again? Basically I had a starting failure where the bike was priming and cranking fine but not firing up. I did an amateur relay wiggle which did the job so am wondering if my diagnosis is correct? Docc- I remember seeing that you’ve labelled your relays, can you post a pic purlease?
  3. I would agree... but my blibblob is pretty much a sport now due to no fairing and clip-ons. Love the paint job on a tenni though- gorgeous shade of green
  4. I spend a few mins with 320 grit wet n dry to get them clean, then 1200 grit to finish. Don’t know whether that’s an acceptable way to do it, but it works alright.
  5. I have one going spare, in the ballabio grey.
  6. On another another note, I can recommend silkolene pink ‘racing’ grease: It’s the only stuff that is still present when I go to dismantle anything. The drive splines, axle, needle bearing, race + washer all get a good glob every time.
  7. It’s the bolts that actually hold the caliper halves together. Can be easy to start undoing them instead of the mounting bolts if you’re (I’m) not vigilant. And damned if I can’t find any torque figures for them. yeah, my pin and spring are a tad crusty looking. I’m putting fren sintered pads in this time, the last set were brembos which were fine but pricey and wore very quickly. Or the rubbers are knackered and not retracting the pads properly... On another note, the hangar is merrily shedding it’s paint, and the swingarm’s been beaten up by the naff hugger, so I should really get on a train to paintsville.
  8. Unlucky fella. Glad you’re not too beaten up. Imagine the carnage if there wasn’t a jug-guard fitted... (I had a slide on the left side t’other year, so I have spare rhs silencers if applicable to your re-build needs).
  9. I’ve just loosened one of the rear caliper bolts instead of the hanger bolt.. I need a lift 😐.. So quick query- anyone know what the torque value is on the caliper bolts?
  10. I feel regret, and i’m not even selling it
  11. Haha! Great artists should’ve lost the dreaded bellypan and blacked out their gaiters.... now that’d look sweet 😬
  12. That swingarm looks awkward to get into all the nooks + angles alright. I’d agree to the black to ‘soften’ the presence of the bevel box- although, if Sir is feeling saucily artistic, maybe hand paint a wee Guzzi eagle on the lower flat area!?
  13. What happened to yours? At least the aft part seems to be more common on the second hand market.
  14. Incidentally, if anyone is looking for billbio parts, and miss out on max’s, or who may be in the UK, I have the bits that were removed from mine too: ‘bars, screen, mirrors, silencers, poss a few other bits that’ve been stashed in a box all snug in my garage. 🙂
  15. Indeed. Many’s the time i’ve clicked thru to their website only to shuffle away again...
  16. Sure thing Chuck, i’ll dig them out and email you some snaps if you like.
  17. I replaced the crappy clocks a while back, still have the old ones, you’re welcome to the stem off it if any good for you?
  18. Ah! Thanks Chuck! I’ve been experiencing this recently- slight delay when pressing the starter button, and occasionally blowing the fuse. It was worse when the bike had been sitting for a few weeks without use, but if I ride her more often the problem seems to diminish.
  19. That’s interesting. Would that be why, if the bike doesn’t fire up properly and stalls once or twice, that when it does so it’s really lumpy for a minute or so?
  20. Oo yummy. They’re getting on a bit now but there’s a variety of options out there
  21. Is this the long horse-shoe bit of fairing or the whole thing? This is a difference between models I wasn’t aware of
  22. Some lovely bits on her and a deafeningly lovely sound- who wants a v50! Harr!
  23. Ta ducks, i’ll have a squid at it tomo
  24. Docc, where’s the ‘distributor blanking plate’?
  25. My friend’s v7 has a dreadful heavy clutch. I don’t know how she manages- I’m a plasterer and my grip is akin to he-man’s big brother’s, but I was irritated by it. The v11’s clutch is an absolute beaut, I have no complaints there!
