  1. on the plus side, a lot of our bureaucracy works fairly smoothly šŸ™‚. Like when you buy a car/bike, just fill the form in, send it off, get it back in about a week, sorted- itā€™s yours! I have heard that places like Spain and Italy can only dream of such ease.
  2. Does anyone fit the battlaxā€™s on their v11? I used to use them on my old w650 and they were great.
  3. Holy bat-euros batman! Well, if anyoneā€™s reading this who wants a replacement rod, iā€™ve still got my old one. Managed to get a rossopuro item a ways back so no reason to keep it.
  4. thinking about it- i have a 300 litre fish tank... so my bike is indeed lighter than a (fish) tank. šŸ³
  5. oh jaysus- i realise thereā€™s a lot of ā€˜mericans on here- itā€™s not what youā€™re thinkin...
  6. canā€™t hardly wait to see/hear that beauty fired up! ...*whispers* damn those belly pans are awful.... har!
  7. i re-installed my fast-idle lever today. thought everyone would like to know.
  8. the long-frame can be made to turn in alarmingly (dangerously?) quickly as i found out when piddling about with the fork/yolk height. šŸ˜®
  9. So sorry Nobleswood- I didnā€™t compile a thread, i feel i lie somewhere around the lower end of knowledge on this forum! In hindsight I should have done so. I could certainly give what little help Iā€™m able if anyone wanted to attempt the job. I removed the whole lot and stripped and cleaned before re-installing. One thing I didnā€™t do was replace the seals, which may have been a mistake, but the current ones are working just fine so.... One other error i made was not to specify a spring rate from the suppliers. They just sent a set out without checking too. The springs were stamped ā€˜9.3ā€™ and they confirmed that that was ok for me in the end. I weigh about 67kilos or 10 and a quarter stone ish. I have never done a sag test in my puff.
  10. Well mine does have a bit of slop in the rear drive, not sure if they all do? Maybe weā€™re talking different points
  11. maybe the shaft? iā€™ve noticed she can ā€˜kickā€™ a bit off small potholes at certain speeds when accelerating. Is it not possible to fit the later front end onto the early models? different headstock?
  12. lovely and tidy around that frame phil- shame to hide it all away! transparent tank?

  14. I was wondering whether the ballabio forks are the same as the sport units?
  15. So weā€™ve been blessed with some gorgeous cool, dry days hereabouts. So i finally put a fresh angel on the back, and fiddled with her. The andreani fork kit feels really tight. so planted- iā€™ve never done a track day but i bet theseā€™d be good in that scenario. Roads round here are every type- all radiuses, up, down, fast, slow, smooth, bumpy. The front feels grand but took tweaking on the c and r to ride it all well. The only thing Iā€™d like, and was hoping for, was that lovely floaty feeling over ripples that you get on great suspension. I canā€™t seem to get this kit to do that as yet. The preload is near the minimum, c and r at the lower end too, but still feeling so tight. Superb at speeds over say 40-50 but seem to be lacking finesse below that. Apart from the lack of dive. The tyres though... These angels are just ace. Best iā€™ve used anyway šŸ™‚ So Iā€™ve been tearing about like a loon, and happy enough... Ā£400 happy? hmmm... i rode her with the marzy springs for ages, and rode the snot out of her without a problem really, i spose she was due fresh springs sooner or later anyway...
  16. if youā€™re into your bible- godā€™s to blame!
  17. The post came today with a new front brake lever, a re-build kit for the rear caliper and also a fresh pin & spring. So thatā€™ll be a nice 2/3 beer job šŸ™‚.
  18. i think we need to be careful, thereā€™s a shed-load of mis-information doing the rounds: ā€˜sipping water can wash the virus down into your stomach and the acid will neutralise itā€™, ā€˜drinking hot brews will increase your immune systemā€™, ā€˜laughter yoga is good for your chakrasā€™ etc etc etc. bullshit piled upon bullshit unfortunately. I guess itā€™s best to stick to official guidelines at the mo. on a related note: iā€™m just back from a lovely ride all around derbyshire, came back thru matlock bath (traditional biker haunt) and it was absolutely packed. like rammed. apparently the coast in the uk is too, so as typical brits, itā€™ll take the police + military to be rolled out before people start treating this seriously šŸ˜. my pal up in scotland said the authorities have been turning back folks in campervans who are scarpering oop norf to isolate... oh well, stay healthy guys. and no kissy kissy!
  19. ace cars. i ran a 940 for a few years, still one of my favourite cars. i remember the first time i used it on a freezing cold day- a most welcome heated seat and the de-mister cleared the windscreen in seconds! absolutely brill.
  20. we can go out for rides though canā€™t we? as long as you donā€™t bin it through the window of an old folks home..?
  21. Hard to fall out with a mean greenie!
