I've added videos selected from YouTube, to the belfastguzzi.com website, if anyone wants to poke through them in the 200 days between now and the meeting.

I'll weed them out / add more / add my own: as time allows.

The list of names has been:

  1. BFG – Belfast, Northern Ireland
  2. Guzzirider – Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England
  3. Mrs Guzzirider – Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England
  4. Ballabio Bertie – Orkney, Scotland
  5. Antonio – Amsterdam, Netherlands
  6. Macguzzi – Edinburgh, Scotland
  7. Jaap – Varsseveld, Netherlands
  8. Jaap's girlfriend
  9. Wambiker – Liverpool, England
  10. Grossohc, Aberdeen, Scotland
  11. Ferguzzi, Clare, Ireland
  12. Tikkanen – Birkerød, 25 kilometres north of Copenhagen, Denmark
  13. Stockportclaret – Stockport, England
  14. Stockportclaret’s girlfriend
  15. Brushwarrior – Bury St. Edmunds, England
  16. Baldini ? – deep Wales

I'm attempting to create a site where I can put information about the 2009 meeting –

'Moto Guzzi Ulster Rally 2009'

Information, maps, photos, maybe videos can be added.

Options that I have looked at require viewers to become members or 'users' and to log-in, rather than just go to the site and view it.

That's a pain. In the end, I've gone with Google Apps and I'm trying to find out how it works.

I wonder can everyone access it by using the same user name and password, or will everyone need to have a unique name & pass? Once one person is logged in, will that prevent others from logging in with the same name?

If the one name can't be used by all, I could give everybody separate passwords for their 'V11lemans name'.

• At this stage, could some of you who intend coming to the Ulster meet have a go at logging-in and let me know if it works?

The site is www.belfastguzzi.com

You can sign in to the domain at:

Start page - http://start.belfastguzzi.com

I have created a new account at Belfastguzzi for a user called MG Rider

The username is mg.belfastguzzi.com

so you need to enter mg in the box.

The password is mg2009.

From the start page you should end up at the BelfastGuzzi homepage, which is: http://sites.google.com/a/belfastguzzi.com/www/

If you go there via www.belfastguzzi.com, you need to enter the mg and the mg2009 password. Then at the Google page that opens, click on the 'Start Page' link at the top left. From there, click on the 'go to BelfastGuzzi' in the header or the link at the bottom of the page.

At the moment there are a couple of pages about the May meeting, but for now, don't worry about the content. I just want to find out if it works – or is it all too complicated?

Thanks

David, doesn't work to me.

Good man, GRider.

People can confirm attendance in the Comments section at the bottom of the Attendees page

– or just by posting here of course.

BFG, Looking good!

BTW, confirming on your site didn't work for me; no link?

I'm a confirmee, my GF doesn't know yet if she can take time off work.

Thanks Jaap

I'm only at the stage of trying things out and seeing how different elements of the site works.

To confirm attendance, I think you should be able to add a 'comment' at the bottom of the page, then I will have to change the actual list. The site can be made collaborative, so that everyone could add stuff, change things etc. I don't want to have it so that everything can be changed by anybody, so I need to see if those sort of permissions can be set on individual pages, or whether it always applies to the whole site.

I wonder has anyone used any of the Google applications for collaborative projects? Sharing word processing documents must be straight-forward, but collaborating through a site is a bit more complicated.

I'd like to make this although, I won't know if my vacation request is granted until a month or so before the event.

I don't camp because then I don't sleep, and then I'm miserable.

does that get you drummed out of the corp?

anyways...I'd like to think I'm 50% confirmed.

I'm 50% confirmed.

I'd regard that as a pretty serious commitment. Excellent!

Doest that mean that you would have to ride half-way (actually all the way I suppose) across Europe to get here?

MacHaggis, are you a 100%er?
