that is a scary reminder that despite all the experience in the world accidents still happen. Glad to hear you're well enough to blog about the restoration. Look forward to see the rebuild.

Yeah, in destruction phase, bits are flying everywhere. Its chaotic.

Good question, i have been thinking about what it should look like. I guess a couple of things that will happen

- needs to be two seater

- will have clipons

- will lose the side covers, airbox - convert to pod filters and velocity stacks

- deciding to clean and polish the bevel box - probably.

- black paint, some custom decals

- probably clean off the paint from the motor, but i'll see how it cleans up first.

- billet headlight, same as the my other bikes - 7inch

- single speedo same as the TRX

- drop the ignition switch and use a motogadget prox switch, same as my TRX

- new pipes, not sure whether same position or under seat but it will definitely by 2 into 2, not 2into1

if it was going to be a single seater, then it would be simpler - small seat/tail, new sub frame but i really want at least one bike with two seats so i can take my daughter out for a ride in a year or two when she's ready.

I want to make the bike look lighter.

HHmmmmmm, for some reason that picture of your shop reminds me of what my teenage sons bedroom looked like.  Please, keep us posted on the build.  What changes/modifications do you have in mind?

Fork tubes are de-anodised and polished. I am unsure at the moment whether to anodise them again since they look beautiful but will require a clean every now and again. They'll hold a clean polished finish easy enough though. Once I find out how much the fork bearings are I'll decide whether to re-anodise.

Putting in thicker oil and filling a hole in the compression dampener has solved the dampening issue

ah.. someone did read the post. Yes my mistake it is the compression im talking about not rebound

Hi Neil,

are you sure it is rebound cartridge on your photo? My fork has 3 holes on compression side catridge, rebound has none.

Yes youre right. I now have one on these in the 5 3/4 versions for two bikes and this one for my Guzzi which is 8inch across for a 7inch Headlight.

The problem is that some of the LED headlights fit in to the shells of the current headlights, but the look so nice open its a shame to hide them in the shell, let alone heat or wanting a change in colour of the shell.

Of course the main reason is that these look (IMHO) much nicer and solid than the chrome shells.

I can see why you had to make that yourself as there is nothing out there worth a damn to make a 7 inch headlight fit in an 8 inch hole. Been looking for years.

Nicely done.

As impressive as that light housing is (and it is! ), I've had a growing trepidation . . . How can we really trust this knumbnutz guy? Where are his proper Guzzi credentials?

What a relief. I found it (in Post#1)!
