Eight weeks out. Changed engine and gearbox oil, Decent Tune-up, and addressed some niggles.

Pondering matters of tires . . .

[edit/46 minutes later: "pondering" turned into a fresh set of Pirelli Angel GT on the way . . . ]

Three weeks out - warding off the Waddington Effect  while seeing to necessary matters . . .

--> Decent Tune-up  :thumbsup:

--> Motor oil/ gearbox oil/ neutral switch & shift linkage adjustments   :luigi:

--> Fresh Pirelli tires/ brake inspection/ another new rear wheel bearing (again!)     :ninja:

--> GPS routes laid in.   :nerd:

Looking to roll some "ten flight hours " before embarking on this XXI SSR . :race:

Always a bit hard to pin down attendance until the time comes, but I'm seeing a good spread of SpineFrames: my(2000)Sport, a (returning) 2001 Rosso Mandello [ @Agonza5 ], 2002 LeMans (first-time South'n SpineRaider: @Kevin_T , and (returning) @Tom in Virginia [but with his '02, or '03 LeMans?], plus @Randy's 2004 Coppa Italia.

Somewhere, I thought I saw @footgoose might return with his lovely 2002 Tenni.

All-in-all, y'all: "Get There. Bring tools."  :race:    :luigi:     B)

Missing: @Gary's "silverie" . . .

Sorry to say I won't be attending this year. Happy to add that I've moved my life, with my girl to a most glorious section of south central Indiana's Hoosier National Forrest. She hasn't left the city yet and I'm covered up with preparations and repairs. It's gonna take a year to settle in. The SSR is the best! I am missing you all.

Sigh, but I do understand that a Honda C-RV is chopped liver among the spinies, lesser Guzzi=es, and the occasional unmentionable "other brands," so my fragile ego will get over this.  :(

I asked one of the online translation services to help me get to the bottom of this whole "CARC" thing. Makes perfect sense once you "know" . . . :sun:

my crusty, rusty and dusty Tonti.

The best kind. :bier:

There's a bloke in the German forum that has this in his signature:

"If God had meant motorcycles to be clean, there would be dishwashing liquid in the rain".

I agree wholeheartedly.

And another one: the German word for a vehicle is "Fahrzeug", literally "drive stuff", "Zeug" being "stuff". The verb "clean" is "putzen", and therefore cleaning materials "Putzzeug". You can see it coming: "Das ist ein Fahrzeug, und kein Putzzeug".

"That is a thing to drive (ride), and not a thing to clean". B)

So now I know I'm using it correctly when I say I'm just putzen around in the garage.

As a result of wife's family having someone who needs home care, she has left to fulfill those obligations.  As a result, I have been bestowed with the title of "Dude in Charge" and tasked with staying home and minding the farm animals (our 3 big dogs) pending her return.  As such, I have had to cancel my reservation at the Lodge as of this morning.

I do so with great reluctance as I always thoroughly enjoy the superb riding, endless LeMans banter and laughs provided by the V11 Spine Raid Team.  If by chance things relax a bit and I can get away, I will still try to show, albeit likely on my trusty '16 Norge.

My fingers are crossed, as things can change at a moments notice.  I will stay tuned and monitor the goings on up until the arrival date of the rest of you.
