Jaide Posted Wednesday at 07:31 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:31 PM I uhh, have not been having a good time lately. I went out for a ride with a friend this evening, and a wild hare jumped into my bike out from nowhere! Thankfully I didn't crash, but the fairing is completely messed up now. Does anyone know if it's even possible to get a proper matching replacement in the Netherlands, or is my Lemans now doomed to become a Sport? 1 3
Tomchri Posted Wednesday at 08:10 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:10 PM Keep an eye on Kleinanziegen.de Cheers Tom. 1
audiomick Posted Wednesday at 11:12 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:12 PM (edited) Yes, keep an eye on the ads, and be prepared to have the replacement painted. Losing the fairing would be a tragedy. EDIT: if everything else fails, this might be an option. Probably expensive, I expect, but better than losing the fairing. And it is pretty. http://www.magni.it/v11_fairing.htm Edited Wednesday at 11:34 PM by audiomick
gstallons Posted Wednesday at 11:34 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:34 PM Did you hit a rabbit or a calf ? 1

He's not talking about rabbits, he's talking about hares, possibily what you would call a jackrabbit. They can apparently get up to 70cm long and a weight of 7 kg. I wouldn't like to hit one. Scud Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Bummer for the bike. Glad you stayed upright and safe. It might need to a Sport for little while, but to do so, you will need a different way to mount the headlight. How's the fairing's left side? Maybe you can find a fairing from a bike that went down on the left and use the right side of it. I saw a herd (fluffle? ... colony? ...) of wild hares last week while riding my dirt bike in Anza Borrego Desert State Park. At first I thought is was a pack of small dogs. They can get big, and they are wicked fast and agile. But given the damage in the photo, I'd wager the LeMans was going a lot faster. 1
docc Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Not a perfect solution, but perhaps something for the interim . . . 02 Moto Guzzi V11 V 11 LeMans Le Mans right side upper cowl fairing cover https://www.ebay.com/itm/273414634761?_skw=Moto+Guzzi+v11+lemans+fairing&itmmeta=01JT4Q3FK0AY677BXEAJV5V6R0&hash=item3fa8c83d09:g:wPYAAOSwMwRbd2eq&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAABAFkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1d3mkGl5RUy%2B0kRLG33imxOcPV2zIEchNOgiNZT%2F1OBDZoQeknxEcvaoB6zuZQdQCWJaQbH8GPtgIb5BTpHdBgSrOp%2B4Qz1CW84c1ktNk37mW04%2BCRzSEdN%2BI7IgxjXZxu7PhrvZ0%2FOvTugecQDHdsCrQ2cj50nAqGNT3L3j2yREDTTj%2F5UU8x1QUjdIDltDFjlmbtzGhs%2FGSCW%2FjqP4Kmd9YYI5dnSglCe%2B1zKgRj1iDyIctn%2Fr88Hp7CfAKEjHMqsKvaYD5O8j5yDwmJLrQD%2BBVssvwTYfCj7OTGqbNSeP8kvEVQk%2BWVwzsYbln5QelQ%3D|tkp%3ABFBM1PmNl9Fl 2

I mean a Le Mans is a bit of a girls bike unlike a mans bike V11 Sport As for hitting bush junk around our area at present it's lousy with Roos, road kill everywhere. Driving from Eltham to home yesterday we must have seen more than 300 Roos in a 5klm drive in surrounding paddocks. Scary. The dog was going nuts a few days ago and when I looked up the drive there was a Roo in our front yard. I live in suburbia for goodness sake. Phil Edited 20 hours ago by Lucky Phil 2 1

First time I saw a Hare, though American at the Grand Canyon, from the car a hundred feet in front I thought it was a small deer. 1

The left side and the bottom bit below the headlight are undamaged from the accident, but the fairing was already a little off centered when I bought the bike. I only noticed that recently, but it was like that all along. 1

That might have been a Jackalope...those were fairly common in Arizona when I lived there a while ago. 1
