docc
The guy with the darkest Scura in the universe needs to ask these things?
Scud
Well, yeah... Obviously, the Scura's wheels are not going to be silver. But I saw a pic in the gallery of a Red LeMans with silver wheels and it looked quite good. The gun-metal grey I did on the BMW is much darker than the its original wheels, but still a couple shades lighter than the gray LeMans wheels. Just thinking... Chuck
Red LeMans with silver wheels and it looked quite good. I'm just sayin..
czakky
I love the color of my Lemans' wheels (dark), but lighter wheels imo look more athletic as opposed to a more rugged look of dark wheels. Probably because I'm a child of the 80s and 90s think Kevin Schwantz/early 90s sportbikes. That's what my Rorsach knee jerk reaction sees.
Scud
Some links to pics or Red LeMans with silver wheel in the gallery (sorry, but I couldn't figure out how to make them display): http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=1864 http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=51 http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=81 http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=80 Nothing wrong with the current color though. JBBenson
The Lemans is really a 1980's-ish bike, so go for white wheels. Red and white. Sort of like the first Ducati Paso. That would be a bold choice....and I know Scud is bold.
luhbo
Make them black or night grey and apply rim stickers in G/W/R (Tri Colore). http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxMjAw/z/RmQAAOSw3KFWeY9I/$_1.JPG
Scud
That's a good idea. I liked the red rim tape I put on originally, but it hasn't held up well. Maybe gloss black like the photo...
Rox Lemans
I too am at a dilema. Just fitted a bellypan to my LeMans(A shout out to Scud. Btw found the hardware...lol) . Debating on whether I should go red or grey. Thoughts, folks? Have a red and grey 2002 . Guess my photo is too big to post... Thoughts?
Scud
The red on the 2002 LeMans is a great color. If you can match it, I think that would be perfect for the belly pan. Then all the bike's leading edges will be red - front fender, fairing, and belly pan.
czakky
And my new pawl spring broke. Couldn't have happened at a better time (in my driveway), still sucks she only made it 3k miles. Is there a new design now? Who sells it?
