  1. I love singles, too. The first "real" motorcycle I ever rode was a friend's Harley Sprint. It probably kindled my life long love of Italian machinery..

  2. I'll be interested to see the price quote - but a 36 week lead time doesn't seem like a good idea. The place I used before gave me a price quote that I can afford. No response yet from my potential second source. I have not heard of a single problem with the new springs, so I think a re-order from the same place will probably be OK.

  3. Oh, dear! I LOVE Italian singles! I even googled it the other day, but seems that doesn’t necessarily mean motorcycles on the web!

  5. I had a set of the cast ones on my bike for quite a while. The added benefit is they reduce the valve clatter quite a bit. Ciao

  6. Here is the reply I received: Thanks for the email. We don’t have minimums, but the price per part decreases as you quantities increase. It looks like the original is made from music wire. We’d probably look at using a 17-7 stainless material. Here are a few additional questions before we get started… Quantities? Where are the stock parts failing? FYI, we’re a high end spring manufacturer (primarily using exotic materials such as titanium, UPG10, and X3) so we’re not the cheapest out there. Also, our lead times are currently in the 36 week range. Best regards- Kyle KYLE CABAYA Motorsport Manager RENTON COIL SPRING CO. INC. 7. Springs (Traxxion Dynamics) better matched to my weight and lack-rabbit* riding style helped mine (under 200 pounds in gear) along with oil selection and, especially, matching the Öhlins spring/ride height in the rear. Even tire selection/ air pressuure is part of the balance. It's a package challenge, IMO. Guzzimoto's compression damping mod has long interested me. As well as recent interest in the Andreani cartridges (watching for some actual feedback on them applied to the V11 . . .) *edit: "jack-rabbit", heh, yep. That's what I meant . . . I type like they build Porsches. Build 'em fast and fix 'em at the end of the line . . .

  8. So I've mocked up the bodywork on the V11 to see what the re-positioning of the tank looks like compared to the side panels and tail piece. The front of the tank needs to be raised 40mm, a little less if you jack up the rear of the tank. My bike had the rear of the tank shimmed up by 5 mm previously by me so the tank stopped rubbing on the side covers. What you see here is whats probably the final solution. rear raised 12 mm and the front 40mm. The down side is that it reduces the steering lock quite a bit, not terminally but more than you'd prefer. The limiting factor is the rear lower edge of the upper tripple clamp impinging on the tank at full lock. I can scollope out some on each side of the clamp without compromising strength and looks to gain a little back and the further back you have the tank the better. I'll still need to modify the stops with adjustment bolts though. The important lines of the top of the tank looks ok to me and the lower tank rear corner to side cover and tail unit interface look fine to me still. Ciao

  9. Bought a V11 Cafe sport 2004, 66K. Ohlins and lots of carbon bits. Really nice bike, can't wait to take for a run.

  10. Cool bike. I bet it is fun. Not the looker a V11 is, but they can't all be..... My wife has a Monster 1100 in addition to her V11. I am not a big Ducati fan (although you might think I am by the two in my living room, but those two are special) but I do admit that I like the sound of it just blipping the throttle. It has a nice bark, way better sounding than most stock exhaust systems sound. I know it can get better with an aftermarket system, but when it sounds that nice stock there isn't as much motivation to drop a ton of money on an aftermarket system. Anyway, nice ride. Enjoy. Remember, the front tire doesn't wear out as much on those things.....
